Atheism: Philosophically Redundant?
ProHypster replied to Dan-95's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Although then, yet again philosophers rarely ever die atheist. Even as Aristotle writes: So what is wisdom? The ancients and medievals distinguished between theoretical wisdom and practical wisdom. To take them in order, at the beginning of the Metaphysics, Aristotle tells us that wisdom – the subject matter of metaphysics – “is knowledge having to do with certain principles and causes” (982a), in particular the “primary things and the causes.” (982b) “For it is through them and from them,” he continues, “that the other things are known and not the latter through the underlying things. And the most fundamental of the sciences, more fundamental than that which subserves it, is that which discerns for what end each thing must be done. And this is the good for each thing, and in general the best in all natures.” (982b) He adds that such wisdom is sought “for its own sake” rather than “utility” (982b) and that there is something “divine” about it, especially insofar as “god is thought to be among the causes for all things.” (983a) Theoretical wisdom, in short, is (a) central to metaphysics, (b) to be sought for its own sake rather than utility, and involves knowledge of © the ultimate causes of things, especially (d) their “ends” or final causes and (e) their divine source. Practical wisdom for the ancients and medievals is prudence, in the sense of the habitual choosing of those means best suited to realizing the ends nature has set for us as human beings. As to the same question in atheism, "What caused everything?" I suppose in Logical Atheism (I'm not speaking teminologically but common word usage) the cause of all things are the things themselves. Nothing was made, everything existed forever. Although I want to hear more from the atheists how they can answer the same question. We know if the question "What caused everything" gives the answer "Error" it is not philosophical. -

Atheism: Philosophically Redundant?
ProHypster replied to Dan-95's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Dan-95, alright then, let's get on with the topic So, studying philosophy and all, I think Atheism is philosophically viable because it is an explanation. (Don't confuse with answer) All true classified philosophical beliefs/religions are explanations. If it can't explain life then it of course isn't an explanation, therefore it isn't philosophical. It doesn't even need to be logical, as long as it is your own opinion and you came to it through questioning life and through personal experience and what you formed of it. Maybe you are an anti-logistic for all I care. But philosophers never die with this conclusion... It is philosophically viable because You did some simple mistakes, if I ask "Why?" Atheism actually does answer. "There is no why" Anything that explains in one way or another is philosophical. -

I feel sickened that someone could write html that badly. I am unsure of his style sheet though. Honestly, i don't care much, he(or she) can believe what he wants and can preach on the internet if he wishes. I'd act the same way if i was on a Christianity page. I meant, is it easy for you to read it? Do you feel any dizziness for example. Or you can't take it seriosusly at all... This is by the way, a "universal morality belief" test. -
The Impact of Religion in Shaping Modern Society.
ProHypster replied to Dan-95's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
I meant results. 5 people think religion is bad and 2 that it's the worst. Really?? It shows it affected their own lives in a bad way I guess, either that or they are voting uninformatively, or they are rebels. -
Almost all of us treat disabled people normally here. If you get bullying a disabled person (Really disabled not just a slight vision, hearing, sportive loss as an excuse to act retarded) in your country then that's wrong. But the way I see it, as long as the person has one friend he'll be fine. It worries me if the person doesn't of course. Even if one is not disabled it worries me if someone doesn't have at least one friend. There is a problem of people being too shy to really interact with them.

Asahina, who is Gordon's former Girlfriend, Saw Gordon with his brother John, eating space brownies with headcrab zombie icing, and she was pissed at God for not making her beautiful enough for him, instead he chose Jessica, who was John Freeman's wife! John Freeman fucked Gordon up because he didn't have the money to get a crowbar, instead buying teletubbies which caused Gordon to jump on top of lung and use wepon against zombie ghosts! Then Captain Tightpants, surprisingly pantless today, had an epiphany "Kaylee was right next to bees that were angry and shooting lazoooors!" Captain Tightpants said "UGH BOOGA BIM" and Gordon Freeman replied "Ma lazoooor!" and everything exploded, headcrab zombie Icing and cake was seriously friggin' everywhere. Gordon felt guilty and John started crying a pond. Just then an antelope crashed through to the surface from the land called "Under the Surface". All of a sudden there was a huge rift and Asahina disappeared. Someone said something about the Combine attacking John Freeman by kidnapping Asahina, John Freeman frowned and said, "Avast!" He then got his grappling hook stuck in an asshole of a vortigant who said "Why, thanks, John!". The Vortigant started hovering over a giant headcrab that looked suspiciously like Wallace Breen. Earlier, Breen had been smelling coke off a monkey's ass when Duke Nukem arrived negotiating with him

I wonder if we can get a victim to have more positive rep then Ross Scott. It's a risky thing for the victim involving imploding instantly or suffocating or dying from "ma lazoor" but it's worth it. EDIT: haha lol... well I tried my best and contributed....1 - rep for BT.

Trial Dismissed. .... wait wrong smiley.. -
Take it back! You have no right to force me to carry around reputation points that I don't want! This is an exampke of how easily the rep system can be manipulated. Yeah, I think we should only be able to add or take rep once. Then if we want we can take it back, but we should not be able to ad or subtract more than one.

Was that directed at me? Because I never called them "mods" I don't think they're asking you to forget about them necessarily, they're just saying that they aren't too worried about contradicting the expansion packs when making the newer games. You can still enjoy the game even if it isn't relevant to the sequels. I can't enjoy it if it contradicts them though like where the hell did the x-race dissapear. -
Atheism: Philosophically Redundant?

Anyways, regarding the topic, what was the intent of it, as far as I know we came to a conclusion that atheism is philosophicaly viable and not redundant. Or was the topic a flame bet? -

ProHypster replied to Dan-95's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
That's not even immature, I can understand immature but that just sounds stupid to me. EDIT: Doom Shepherd or anyone else who dares... this is completely off topic. It's more a psychologic thing I need to test. If you try to read this how do you feel? http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Welcome.html -
I am on a whole different level here... It may sound wrong but I think bullying is a good thing to the point where it is dangerous to life, that's not bullying though that's assaulting. Otherwise I think bullying is a good thing, it's what happens in Ukraine all the time. We bully everyone who acts retarded, can't understand things, acts stupid, fights people for no reason. In the aftermath the person starts acting normal in front of other people or gets friends, in the end we have adults which are very strong, at least emotionally, people who know how to act right and wrong in front of the public. If you were bullied here teachers mostly don't care. That's why at 15 we already call the person like we would an adult by the word "Thy". But that's us. Our own beliefs and culture as a nationality. Though seriously, what would you do with a person who says he will go play football with you, and you drive there, then the person starts fooling around and not playing, I would be pissed and have a serious talk with him and even curse, we came out to play football not fool around Personally, I beat up two people for annoying me like idiots and I saw how they became much more mature people in the end. One guy stole my football and acted stupid and then wasn't gonig to give it back (How stupid can one be) He fully matured after and stopped fooling around me or any of my friends. The other was some idiot who kept taunting me and once showed his naked ass to the whole school, I'm going to give a hint, he was not ukrainian. This guy also matured a little and didn't try to act stupid in front of me for a bout a year. Then i had to repeat the procedure. Don't get me wrong, that was a long time ago and now I don't fight people, I talk to them though and curse them if they act stupid or not to my liking. I only fight occasional jumpers, those randomly jump and fight for fun and experience here, it sickens me a bit but makes me stronger anyway.

You can't say anything untill you tried it. Also black "magic" is as it is called by idiots, in reality it's all perfectly real. But it's spiritual and unexplained yet. We just call magic everything that can't be explained by science yet. -

Freeman Rejecting G-Man's Offer A Viable Option?
ProHypster replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
You know, I wouldn't doubt it. He's said he's never gotten a shortage ideas. Actually from the way he said it, I'd almost say he has TOO many ideas. lol Like if he were to create all these ideas into new videos, everyone watching would die of old age before seeing them all finished. Of course Ross wouldn't die because he's a god. Gods can live forever and stuff man. Hey, we all have ideas, we aren't making the videos thoguh because most of us suck at voice acting or video footage making. Also it would take time and responsibility as most of us are scared of those....evilish things.. As to put it simply, we are all like inventors, with ideas and everything, Ross is like Bill Gates, he actually does something with them, a developer Of course Bill Gates pretty much screwed all those inventors.... but Ross is a good deity filled with love -
