  1. I degraded because my old also not so good Windows Vista computer got completely destroyed by a virus, but yeah I downgraded because I had to. I'm on an aging upgraded laptop right now.
  2. I know this is offtopic and all, but I already wrote the exact same thing a few pages back. And you missed one stupid statistic, which is that it only works up to 60 % of the time. Read people, Read!! To add actual content to this, I still haven't changed my theory on life stated before.
  3. In the Modern World... No Social Democracy? I guess I will just have to vote for Democracy - Liberal then.
  4. All Russia is doing here is stating that if Finland do join Nato, it would deteriorate relations with Russia, so I'm completely with Russia here. They are not FORCING Finland to abstain from NATO. Plus military aid to a country that was in war with Russia mostly due to it's own stupidity doesn't help.
  5. HAHAHA!!, I haven't laughed like that for years!!! I would plus rep you for this topic and video but I just don't have any points
  6. Lmao, sorry but I seriously thought that this was two humans in a prank for the first minute or so. However, I admit this is very, very impressive what they did, but I stick to my point that this kind of technology won't be adopted in the military, or it will but not for very long. Actually there is only one thing I can think of, for psychological reasons. Whether it be for it to look more Human friendly or the opposite. Judge yourself, your robot, or the robots starting at 19:00: msHJLwYWX30 Actually if you're really interested watch the whole video, it includes all robots and explains their bad and good, yours too . As for me the class of robots at 19:00-22:00 I think have the most potential out of all.
  7. Ha! I enjoyed watching that 3 minute video about Goats ... But relevant to the topic, for that kind of balance and movement even just a legged robot won't do. Can you imagine the amount of programming needed for it to interpret "How to climb this mountain efficiently" and "How to Balance". Even a Human can't do that unless he is a proffesional climber. And if you want a robot to track a Human on Mount Everest, I would use a hybrid of a Helibot with Grapling Hooks. I still think the amount of time it would require to build such a legged robot would be better spent on creating a hybrid or "purebred" of drone, hover, track, helicopter, or even Jet robot. There is also intersting and still not used valuably experimental technology such as Ionocraft, Electrogravitics, Magnets, Anti-Gravity etc.
  8. Unintentionally, it is very hard to break a Hard Drive. "Most 3.5" hard disk drives can only withstand shocks of 250 G to 350 G, the smaller 2.5" hard disk drives used in laptops are more robust and can take up to 900 G." One thing that will never brake though is an old Nokia phone, my friend threw one on the ground as hard as he could several times to prove to me that one <_<
  9. It's the picture, it looks like he is about to........... The mind considers the picture first and for faster reading assumes words.
  10. I don't even need to read anything, looking at today's world I quite often say (with a grim) to people that Germany and Japan have won WW2. It's because the Rus' countries are horrible at treaties. Every time we win we don't because someone signs a stupid treaty, for example in WW1 while the Military situation was much more favourable for Russia then Germany, Ukraine, Belarus and even West Russia was surrendered to Germany for peace.
  11. I degraded to a Windows XP.
  12. Same thing as "What is Hell?" but a lot trickier. I challenge you to crete a good Heaven scenario, it's a lot trickier then you think. . I will post my version/s of it later.
  13. Any location on google street counts. Just explain why you chose it., in this case obvious.
  14. The point is, Robotanks, Robohovers, Mini-Robocopters, Robowhatever without legs but with the same armament would be better then Robolegs. It's just legs are not the most efficient transport system, sure humans have them, but would the perfect being have them? Fish, birds, insects are faster relative to their size and in the latter case more mobile then animals with legs.
  15. No because anything embarassing you've done, basically everyone did at one point, or something similar, so it would be understandable. Maybe the first 5 minutes it would suck, but after you realize that if it was anybody elses tape it would be the same "embarassing" stuff. Even if you did something utterly embarassing, you would realize it's not your fault, it's human nature, the rest may be annoying but not too bad to watch, at least it won't take forever... It would be like eating a cockroach, at first you think it's disgusting but then you get used to it. I was recently cleaning guts of fish, I thought that was pretty disgusting but I got used to it. At least that's what I think. As for the worst type of hell possible, all you need to do is add the variable "forever" to the current world rules and anything becomes hell.
  16. Did it survive? No, but miraculously the HDD was still intact, so I was able to plug it into another PC and get my stuff off of it. Not miraculously but for the same reason black boxes survive on planes. The Hard Drive is usually the last thing that goes on a computer, it's name doesn't lie, it is "hard",the worst problem a Hard Drive can give is usually the infamous blue screen. Anyway around a week ago I spilled water with sugar on my ergonomic keyboard. Like a retard I decided not to unplug it and just wipe the top off. Initailly everything was still working and I was happy, about 2 hours later 50 % of my keyboard died. Unplug keyboard when you spill something on it people.
  17. I guess, theoretically, it can be done. Provided that: - the US Government will sit on their hands while watching the Chinese go about the years of planning, months of preparation and training, weeks of assembling and loading the ships and planes that any such invasion would require. - the US CVNs will pretend they are fishing trawlers and turn the blind eye as the whole invasion fleet will sail across the Pacific - the US SSNs will urgently find something important to do in the Atlantic or elsewhere and their ELFs will mysteriously break down, so they won't be able to intercept the coming armada. - the US SAC will decide to ground its fleet for maintenance and to consider the satellite images of the approaching Chinese fleet a hallucination. Remember that the largest ever successful amphibian invasion in the world's history to date was the Normandy D-Day and that involved 160,000 troops + 25,000 paras + 200,000 navy crew and 5,000 ships. The distance between the staging and landing area was only a few hundred km. The invasion took place in the middle of a war with the target (Germany) already being engaged on 3 major fronts. To transport 10 million troops the Chinese will need a 1000 ships, each the size of Queen Mary - I am not aware they have nearly as many available. For smaller ships we are talking about maybe 50,000? But even more interesting question is why would the Chinese want to do it all and what will they achieve with the invasion? Imagine that, somehow, they've managed to disembark, unopposed, their 10 million poorly trained teenage conscripts on the shores of California. They will now face the need to fight their way across the continent to seize the seat of the Government on the opposite coast while maintaining a constant supply train across the Pacific. This is not likely to be a great success. But imagine then that they've done it. The US is now under the Chinese occupational authority - now what? Do they use it for lebensraum (Siberia or Australia would make easier targets)? Do they take the oil (better take Indonesia and Malaysia for that or, simpler, - just buy the stuff in the Middle East)? Do they enslave the population to assemble iPads in horrible conditions (they have plenty of workforce for that)? At the same time they will devalue a large portion of the foreign currency reserves they are sitting on, will kill the cash cow which feeds their export-oriented economy, will not make any friends in the world (well, may be some but who needs friends like that?). And, last but not least, with all these troops away from the homeland - who is going to keep the local population in check? It just does not add up. I think, no matter how tough it is, but the Americans are just going to have to learn to live with the thought that no one in the world wants to invade their country (other than the illegal immigrants, that is). Regards Regarding all this, you are right in most things, except not all wars are Total Wars, where a country completely surrenders it's whole territory and people, there is still the possibility of a war with unfavourable treaty conditions, and you also forgot two military statistics, the navy is much better then in WW2, and the special operations units are much much better then in WW2. Then there is Nuclear Warfare. And there is a third and used even now during peace time, it is Espionage and Sabotage, with countless arsenal added in this category since WW2. So USA shouldn't expect a full on invasion, but smaller skirmishes, espionage/sabotage and events like 9/11 might happen realistically, there however is no trigger for this yet, and if USA doesn't pay off debt to China, it is not going to be a very good reason for an invasion on USA especially while USA still has many countries on it's side who would not like China to invade it. We've seen a similar scenario before when the Russian Empire decided to attack the Ottoman Empire but didn't expect both Britain and France go on the Ottoman side, it ended up with an unfavourable treaty for Russia.
  18. Ok, but have you ever thought that a car or even a balanced motorcylce that can automatically drive would be much faster then this. Such a waste, if they did this robot simply for the speed. I don't imagine these things in the near future because they are impractical, I imagine, robocycles, robocars, robotraktors, robotanks, robohelicopters, drones. And I think this might belong in the Serious topic Section.
  19. NP had different styles during their time, I just thought this track in particular is prog-rock. Anyway, isn't Punk Rock stuff like Sum 41, Sektor Gaza???? If so, I don't really see any similarity with this. Actually I don't know much Prog Rock, only british bands such as Pink Floyd, it's sad because I see very much potential in prog rock. I can see in my mind very good variations of arrangements in the prog rock style, it's too bad people are not much interested in that. I just recently was composing Heavy Metal just to try the new guitar sampler and AMP i got on the Computer (yeah I know lol), anyway from my experience the guitar is basically the only instrument that sounds good by just playing and holding just one note due to so many variables there is to playing/tweaking the note..
  20. 100 % by when, if it is by the time the game will be released, I'm afraid we're too late. 27 % only right now.
  21. None of my genres have any official awards. J7tB_xhfPyM By the way is this considered Prog Rock? I know it already starts with a melody and prog rock shouldn't, but the structure of the track changes over time especially at around 3 : 30 minutes.
  22. Basically when you can't pay debt, the consequence is less/no countries will lend you money. In Geopolitics as far as I know debt doesn't work the way it works in real life, there is no police to enforce you paying debt, but you can get isolated and embargo'd if you are a weaker country that doesn't pay debt. However all Debt gets erased in one or another way and is a fairly useless measure of a country, I have not yet seen a country that suffered too much from having Insane amounts of Debt. However Germany and Japan I believe both had insane amounts of debt before becoming extremely rich. For Superpowers such as USA I really doubt there will be any consequences since USA itself enforces debt consequences. So there will always be debt and the consequences in geopolitics isolation and embargo or in extreme cases hostility, however it only works if you are a weaker country or a Strong country with many hostile countries against you. This is my take in all this. The alternative theory is called "Zionism" and "NWO" feel free to read it
  23. Bump, I added actual Info of this game. And here is a video about it: av2qaC4BhKs
  24. Have you even heard the original? It's a Ukrainian composition.. but I guess noone knows that. Shchedryk by Nikolay (Mykola) Leontovych You guys are forgetting lots of people like Prokofiev, Stravinksy, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov. Of course a special melody to me is by Mussorgsky, Gates of Kiev, very proud feeling since I'm from this city and I think it's an important piece for all Rus', reminds me of the times we were together in the middle ages. Stravinsky is also from Kiev and my favourite "classical" composer because of his complexity.
