  1. Oh goody goody, you can fight over who'll be Death, and I'll just take War ^^
  2. Oh, we can introduce ourselves here? How delightful *grins* I've been registred on this forum for some time and even though I read many threads here, I never really wrote anything. Now I just miss posting stuff on the internetz, so here comes something. I'm from this small and unimportant country in the middle of the Europe, though I would love to live in England or Scandinavia. My occupation is an IT expert with little to no IT knowledge. I'm a vivid roleplayer with a slight case of schizophrenia (at least she told me it's slight), with many characters that suit my needs and I love PC games, books, fire and meat. I'm also a bit into history, but I much rather write my own. I'm also supposed to be a deranged psychopath, but that isn't up to me to tell... I never killed anyone anyway, so I think I'm pretty harmless. Oh, I'm also a fan of Half Life and Rosses work (I really wouldn't be here otherwise). Anyway, nice place you got here, I like it. Reminds me of my old days.
  3. Well, I live in a certain society and as such I have to follow certain rules and laws. I can't just club an annoying teenager to death or burn down a village because I feel like it. Actually I can, but the consequences would be harsh, so I better not do it. Things could change if I were to became an all-powerfull dictator, but chances are pretty slim. And also overall I respect the value of life and free will and stuff like that. Even though my empathy is pretty low and I'm a cynical person, I'm not intrinsically evil, though sometimes I wish to be.
  4. And it's so easy when you're evil... Seriously, there is something intriguing in being malevolent. I'm a decent person in real life but sometimes I wish I wasn't.
  5. I'm not saying that doing what you want is immoral. I'm saying that I don't believe in Universal Morality.
  6. The moment he realizes he has the control over the army of Antlions. I still remember my reaction. Ah, that was a good day.
  7. I have a drell, though I can't remember the class now, I never use him. I don't really like the race.
  8. Sins of the Solar Empire is... interesting, but never came to like it. I always prefered Homeworld in terms of space strategy.
  9. Perfect game, huh? An RPG with fully developed AI, where nothing is scripted and you communicate with the NPCs via a microphone. Also, the storyline wold be COMPLETELY different everytime you play it, because loads of story-changing actions would take place somewhere else. In other words, you are not the only one who changes the world. I can only hope...
  10. I think you'll like my movie then. Filled with the worst the humanity has to offer? Yes please. The thing is, these people didn't go out with the express desire to be "evil", they thought what they were doing was right, just even. Moral "rights" and "wrongs" are just what society decides they are. There's no such thing as a universal morality. Ah, but isn't there? I don't know, though I don't really believe in Universal Morality. All I see are people doing what they want as long they get away with it and society leaves them alone. Even selfless acts fall into this category. When you donate to charity for example, it's still doing what you want, it's just more socially acceptable than beating a dog in public. But implied morality has its merits. You are less likely to be killed than in Medieval (it also depends on the country you live in of course).
  11. As for the RTS, I love Starcraft, but Warhammer 40k Dawn of War (the first one with expansion packs) wins by far. I never enjoyed any battle in any RTS as much as in Warhammer. Plus the voiceover is just purrrfect. "GLORY FOR THE FIRST MAN TO DIE!" But if I take any strategy in general, I go for Rome: Total War. Roma Invicta.
  12. Multiplayer is fun. I also like Quarian Infiltrator and I'm waiting for the day I unlock the bloody Quarian Engineer. I basicly use the pistol Carnifex with a scope and I headshot everything in my sight. I like it even more than sniper rifles for some reason.
  13. People don't really mind being "evil". Humanity was evil for thousands of years. We like violence, we like wars, we like greed and selfishness. Nowadays we just shun it because from the society's point if view it's bad. Though give a random man an uniform and make him think he's not responsible of is actions, he won't really mind pillaging a town. Good and Evil are just words anyway. In the old Crusades it was good to kill an "unbelieving dog" even if he was a civilian. Or what about a lynch mobs? "Let's murder that nigger because it's a good thing to do". History is filled with auch things. Basicly... it's a thing we're best at.
  14. I don't really like piracy and I try to buy games when I can... but in no way I feel bad for not paying a couple of bucks to huge corporations with profits in millions or billions of dollars just because they are stuck in 20th century and can't use internet properly to deliver a medium for a reasonable price. Some time ago I read about a CEO of EA (or some other game corporation) that he would be glad if he could get players to pay 1 dollar everytime they run out of ammo in any game. No, I don't really feel guilty when I download stuff. We are nothing more than walking wallets for them... and they try to squeeze as much money from us as possible. Though most of the time I will buy the game when I like it... especially if the price isn't over the roof. Most of the games I really played were legal (some of them in due time).
  15. Of course... some people may enjoy the ending, but it goes against what Mass Effect is about. It's like if you were watching Star Wars The Original Trilogy and the last ten minutes were from The Inception. It doesn't go together at all.
  16. Ignoring all the nay-sayers, Mass Effect 3 is a bloody briliant games. Yes, the ending was one of the greatest disappointments in my video-game life, but it doesn't change the fact that the rest of the game is pure gold. The RPG elements may not be really expanded and the combat system is sometimes a bit sketchy, but this game isn't about that. Mass Effect is a story-driven cinematic game with emotional entaglements, focusing on characters and lore... and it's a game where your choices DO MATTER over the course of the trilogy (still igoring the ending here). Mass Effect 3 showed me some of the deepest emotional scenes I have ever experienced in a video-game (especially thanks to great voice acting and briliantly written characters). Hate the ending (a lot), but love the game and I'll sure as hell replay the whole trilogy many times. Multiplayer is also quite a fun feature.
  17. Gotta love the game. One of the best RPGs ever made. Great review, short but straight to the point and doing the game justice.
  18. No question here. The best PC game I have ever played is by far Baldur's Gate 2, closely followed by Fallout 1 and 2. Those games were (and still are) so atmospheric that I feel a chill down my spine everytime I think about them, their amazing storyline and mindblasting dialogues.
  19. Life. I really suck at it. Oh, and Operation Flashpoint: Resistance on the hardest difficulty. I think even the REAL guerilla warfare is easier.
  20. That there are fewer and fewer really good games than years ago.
  21. For me, the best one is when he finally gets the tram working and the first thing he'll ride to is the wall of concrete dividers. The way he says: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what's this? You've got to be fucking kidding me! Boy, optimists are retards," makes me crack a big one every time.
  22. But isn't it a bit sad to enjoy more watching other people play video games than just play them? Damn, I want my playthrough of Half Life to be as cool as Freeman's Mind.
  23. Dr. Breen stroking a cat, while talking to Gordon Freeman through the monitors, while he takes a hike around the Citadel? Now that would be a sight to see.
  24. I was curious how you'll deal with the start of this really bizzare platforming "Mario" level of the game, and even though it seemed a bit weaker than the more "realistic" levels, it was still very enjoyable. Now, let me see you jump and jump again, you theoretical physicist. Just remember, the entrance to Xen is in another castle.
  25. I never tasted any difference in Coke or Pepsi. They are both the same to me. So I can be killed by any fan of both drinks.
