  1. Why not do a mind of yourself in a game like Fallout 3 or New Vegas. That way, you can truly be yourself? Or do older games. All I can think of: Hacker's Mind (System Shock 2) Whatever isn't already taken.
  2. I've seen people a lot like their sign, and others who aren't. For example, I have a friend who's personality fits more of a Scorpio, yet he's a different sign. (Can't remember which) The other example: I have a friend who is an Aries and he fits almost all the goddamn descriptions you just put up. I also thought the cancer joke was funny, but then I do tend to laugh at puns.
  3. Ok, given that the Civil Protection episode "Oil's Well" brought up one real-life problem. (It's even said somewhere. The only episode Ross planned to do with a "message") And the solution Ross presented was actually a good one, focusing energy on Hydroelectric dams and switch to electric cars, but it does have it's problems. *Anyone with more knowledge in this stuff, please either provide constructive feedback to ideas or let me know if wrong* A switch in Hydroelectric dams will be good, but it will alter the environment where the dam is placed. However, I don't think that the damage will be anywhere NEAR as bad as what we're doing to the environment now with "coal burning pollution" or the occasional oil spill. One user in the comments for the episode on youtube suggested that we build a bunch of solar panels in the desert to also alleviate energy needs. This doesn't seem like a radical environmental altering solution. And then I also thought, what's another way one could use an inhospitable place for energy? Geothermal energy. If that itself is not a pipe dream, civilization could also use that for energy. My solution: A combination of all 4 ideas. Hydroelectic dams, switch to electric cars instead of gas guzzlers, large array of solar panels in the deserts, and geothermal energy wherever possible. Feel free to critique this idea.
  4. I think he means "where can you get the custom maps". I know that most of it is "Done in Animation" or something, but I ASSUME it's "copy and paste animation to a background". You know, like CGI, but inserting into a game. If it's what I think it is (and what others also think it is, a lot of "what map" questions on youtube), than the custom maps have to be used, he has to run/stand around in GMOD or HL2 to use the shots for later when he pastes the animations in. If that's true, than users would like to know what maps he's using. If it's not true, then I withdraw what I just said.
  5. This is awesome! Now Ross has help and it's from someone who's GOOD. As the user above said, "Treat or Else" was good. Also, "Update Day". And some of his work in GMOD idiot box is more effort than you think, read his blog to see if you don't believe me. (Special welds that break. Others that make the ragdolls.....well, ragdoll and shoot off.)
  6. How about I cut your balls off and sell them to a Vortigaunt? *Insert snappy Mass Effect reference he-I AM ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.
  7. Freeman's mind is awesome, Shephard's Mind is also good, so is Chell's mind, I couldn't get into Barney's Mind.
  8. I FOUND THEM! All of the tracks from the journal part of the episode are from Black Mirror. The first one I believe is "Grief": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pogtopXAtfc But not entirely, it segues off (masterfully done, I might add) to: "Warmhill": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkW8-kAi8Lo&feature=related And then to (the one I was looking for): "Willow creek": Then, the rest, which I wasn't actually looking for but I stumbled upon. During the move into the tunnel Description of the tunnel and life in it: And the last bit, when he starts hearing things, near the end: I think the tracks are from a game rip, because the game actually has a soundtrack (which is listed on VGMDB, but it's both rare and only on a collector set) but not one of the tracks are anywhere on it (The official soundtrack is posted on youtube by user "RadiantRhapsody"), and the videos list them being in the first game. (Unless this is a case of people confusing stuff from sequels. Like how people think Jason started off with a hockey mask or was the killer in the first movie) I had wanted to find the tracks because they had a calming yet haunting theme. I like those kind of tracks. (In fact, more games and movies should do that instead of outright stock "horror" music) That and those who like listening to soundtracks will at least know where these tracks came from.
  9. Now that I think of it, I MAY have found it on TV Tropes. Because I do recall clicking the "For what Freeman was thinking through the first Half-Life, see 'Freeman's Mind'."
  10. He's right, this is a slower part of Half-Life, in fact, I always refer the chapters "On a rail" to "Residue Processing" as "the boring part of Half-Life." Let's face it, every game has it's boring part where you start to lose interest.
  11. There's a couple of tracks that I assume to be public domain, as they've appeared on various shows. Unknown Track 1: This track appears in three media I know of. It appears in The Spider-Man: The Movie game (The one that was released around the time of the film), in the level "Corralled". (Just look up "Spider-Man Corralled" on youtube) Another instance of it was in the Even Stevens Episode "Close Encounters of the Beans Kind". The last instances I've only heard of were said to be in South Park and some game called "Desperados". Unknown Track 2: This track has appeared in one Movie and one show. Again, that I'm aware of, it could have appeared in more media. A couple of times in Darkwing Duck. The movie it appeared in was Bionicle: Mask of Light, when Takanuva and Makuta fall into the pit of Protodermis. The tracks in question can be listened to easily as one can just put the names of episodes, game levels, and/or movies into youtube and watch. Since I have at least one pinpoint example for both tracks. (For example, people upload the Mask of Light movie, and all one would need to do is watch the last or second to last video of the movie) If anyone knows the name of the tracks and/or has links to them (preferably youtube), it would be very much appreciated.
  12. What is the music that was played in The Tunnel? I know that the intro theme which is used for all Civil Protection episodes is from Quake 3. And I know the name of the track that was used when the duo was in the tunnel. (From the game Shadowman) 10:59 in the video, this music starts playing, and I assume it's from a game. I've also heard it before, it was used on "IGN's 13 scariest games of all time." People say it's from the game "The Black Mirror", but upon searching for the soundtrack on youtube, I haven't found the track yet. If anyone knows the track, can they either link me to a youtube video of it, or just tell me the name and I can find it myself?
  13. I am not aware of any downtime recently. It could've been your ISP. Yeah, that seems likely. I think it has done that on other sites too.
  14. Here's something odd, for a couple of minutes when I tried to get on this site, I kept getting an error, instead of bringing me to the site I was given "Website suggestions". Was the site temporarily down or was this an error with my ISP?
  15. That's also a possibility. Didn't think of that one.
  16. Yeah, that's the same problem. People are putting it much more elegantly than I could have. I think, when the episodes of Freeman's Mind were far and few in between, it made sense for them to be uploaded low priority. In fact, it seemed like it did get released when it was finished, probably because it being finished coincided with Machinima's schedule. But now they're being cranked out faster, and, to put it bluntly, it's pissing people off (myself included) to see that a new episode is ready but Machinima delays it for other videos. However, it's the basic human tendency to blame someone else. But even then, no one really blamed Ross when there were large delays between episodes because, hey, he's got more important stuff to do, and that's easy to understand. Likewise, it's easy to get upset at a bigger channel like Machinima because "they're the ones who's sole job it is to upload videos." I always try to look at both sides. And as said by others, they're a big channel with lots of game videos to attract a broad audience, and them uploading the "popular stuff" can draw more users to Freeman's Mind. Because then they can browse through, look at some episodes, and get hooked to that or Civil Protection. But they do seem to be uploading the episodes sooner. Maybe because they got sick of complaints, or maybe because the "Progress bar" is only being changed to "finished and uploaded" when Machinima puts the episode up.
  17. "To wipe your ass, first orient your hand behind yourself, then move it forward. Or backward." That is my new signature.
  18. I think Machinima should upload the episode, yet instead they upload a slew of Call of Duty videos. I guess if it's seen that they take a lot longer than a week, should people really start complaining.
  19. The Walking Dead Sir Conan Arthur Doyle's The Lost World (Old TV show, only way to watch now is youtube or through DVDs) George Lopez Show Bully Beatdown Mythbusters
  20. What is the song that plays at 11:00 in the video. I keep reading that it's from the game "Black Mirror", but what is the name of the track? I've looked through ALL of the tracks on youtube, but I can't find that particular one. Unless the Black Mirror track is the one that plays BEFORE the song at 11:00. I ask because that particular track played on "IGN's 13 Scariest Games of All Time" video.
  21. This was an AWESOME game, I discovered it through G4TV back when it was a game channel. On the show "CHEAT". I tried it and enjoyed it. Makes me glad I'm not one of those gamers who has to have a high graphics game. (Hell, one of these days I'm going to get some of the old systems and games I missed from my childhood. Like Genesis, dreamcast and N64.)
  22. I'm straight and have no problem with anyone. (I have several friends who are gay, and a couple who are Bi.) So long as they don't hit on me. (Even then, I'll probably just ask them politely to stop) The way I see it: As long as a person is not an asshole or complete scum, they're alright with me.
  23. Yeah, they are getting overpriced. It's a good idea to wait a bit for new games, rent them (try before buying), or only spending on games you're really waiting for. For example: A lot of games I just rent, the ones I like I wait a while before buying, and the only exceptions to that will be The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Half-Life 2: Episode 3 and Mass Effect 3.
  24. Depends on the circumstance. If it's something that SHOULD HAVE been in the game in the first place, it sucks. (Like "Broken Steel" for Fallout 3 or "Kasumi: Stolen Memory" for Mass Effect 2) If it's a genuinely new last minute idea, ok. (Like "Lair of the Shadow Broker" for Mass Effect 2 or "The Pitt" from Fallout 3.) And of course what EA does with the Sims is messed up. I swear they must keep a lot of content out of the base game and then release it later in expansions. For example: Anything with pets is always withheld for a while even though it's the most popular. They don't include it in the base game because people enjoy it and they want to milk them for more. Not to mention their little store thing, where others say they held content from Sims 3 to fill the store and get more money.
