  1. Since I first saw it. For less of a mathematician's answer, I can't remember when EXACTLY. I think it was some time before episode 27. Whichever one he did the pirate voice in.
  2. Good point.
  3. The only "ghost story" I've had was at my aunt's apartment. I heard someone knocking on the front door loudly. We opened it. There was no one there. She lived on the second story, the stairs were rickety as hell (we made a shitload of noise going up WALKING!), and were too high for someone to just jump off of without breaking a leg. (Maybe with parkour knowledge, but we'd have still seen them) We would have seen someone going down either way. And everyone in the room heard the door knocking.
  4. Yeah, isn't there a big neck seam in most of the models?
  5. Negatively: Religion has always been either forced upon a culture or suppressed. For example: Religion being forced on Native Americans. And schools banning prayer and other things. (I've heard one case wear a woman was denied wearing her religious headwear and was told she'd be expelled if she didn't remove it in the building) I think religion should not be forced upon anyone, but that everyone should be allowed to practice what they believe in WITHIN REASON.
  6. Suspension? Over here, they give you a 200 dollar citation AND suspend you. For fighting. EVEN IF IT'S SELF DEFENSE! They'd rather you just get your ass kicked. Even if the whole class, and a substitute (hell, even if a camera sees) that you only acted in self-defense, doesn't matter. Both of you are fined and suspended. And also, if you're a senior and you get into any fights, THEY'LL HOLD YOU BACK FROM GRADUATING! So my last year I had to just ignore all of the shit so I wouldn't have to do the whole year over again. Oh, and the same thing can happen like it did with a friend. Another kid was punching him, he didn't hit back (following their retarded rules) and he STILL got the citation anyway for fighting. ==================== I had a hellish freshman year, and my Mom had always told me if someone is messing with you, kick their ass. But I didn't want to cost her money, so I held back, just suffered through it. But she noticed I was miserable. She said she'd pay the fine, to just kick that guys ass to make him leave me alone. I only got in a couple of punches (after he had been shoving me), before a teacher broke it up. [sarcasm]Sure, don't jump in and prevent anything. But feel free to only dispense punishment the minute we actually start fighting.[/sarcasm] I swear they only have this system AND lack of action till it's too late only to PROFIT off of bullying. I really didn't have the same level of bullying ever again. (People punching me in the hallway as they pass) However, I did get other varying degrees of bullying. Shit-talk, stuff thrown, threats, pushes. But every time, they tried to chicken out of a fight by having me throw the first punch. (Something I don't do. However, I consider a hard shove a punch and will react accordingly.) And when I was 18, I'd have the occasional student shove me only because of the fact that I can't LEGALLY hit them back because they're underage.
  7. My take on gun control is that if there is a gun around, I want to be the one controlling that. Ok, all jokes aside, I think that civilians should be able to carry guns. Not be limited EXCEPT in certain circumstances. Home Defense: I honestly think if someone breaks into your home, they should be shot. They have no reason, no right, to be there without your permission. This is IN THE HOME, not on the property. But they always have to give the crook more rights than the victim. "Oh, you have to warn them." Carry: I think it should be allowed to openly carry (well, not in your hands, that's how accidents happen) weapons. But never have the pistol in hand unless your life is in danger and you NEED to use it. Show that you're packing. Might make someone think twice. And some of the smart people may carry two weapons, one concealed, one open. The first to deter robbers, the second to protect your life if the first doesn't. Rounds: I'm not sure about this, there's not really a reason for civilians to carry hollow points or full metal jacket rounds (in fact, there's no reason to carry ARMOR piercing rounds). The Hollow Points could be used in home defense. Because honestly, it's the thief's own damn fault he got shot because he wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. Fully Automatic: Anything full auto is to be kept at home, either for defense or as a collector. But the only use for full auto is when you want to scare someone away, but not kill them. But then, that's risky, your bullet can still hit an innocent bystander or cause damage to another person's property. The only point Full auto ever had was suppressing fire, where you scare the enemy away or into cover by shooting rounds, and convenience. This could be used to convince any burglars carrying weapons to get the hell out of there. (Although, shotguns have the same advantage. Some cases all that needs to happen is the crook hearing the cocking noise and the crook partakes in rapid departure.) The only way you're going to hit someone you're aiming for using full auto is shooting in controlled bursts. Since most people are too stupid to figure that out, the only people they hurt are bystanders, not their target. If they would allow full auto guns to be owned by civilians, they'd do very well to make the people trying to get one to take a long class on how to use them properly. Along with background checks.
  8. "The SPAS 12 was designed to function primarily as a semi-automatic firearm, with the pump-action mode used to reliably fire low-pressure ammunition such as tear gas rounds or less-lethal bean bags." (Wikipedia excerpt) Really? I would've thought user preference. So yes, it IS designed as a semi-auto for the most part. And yes, I'm an aspiring gun nut. Yes, that too. One youtube user mentioned that a shotgun is the best home defense weapon. "You don't even need to have any ammo for it. Just cock it and they'll run the hell out of there."
  9. I always thought it was one barrel, with the two shots just right after the other. BANGBANG! I still don't know if the SPAS 12 can do that, though. I like guns, but if I don't own it/haven't ever shot it I probably wont know much about it other than the loud end should be pointed away from you. No, the SPAS only has one barrel, however it CAN fire rapidly. It has two modes, "pump after every shot" and "semi-automatic". So it can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.
  10. YES, they are exactly how you said in HL: Source. And the MP5 has no code for damage other than grenades. The damage is "sk_plr_dmg 9mm 20". This works for both the Glock and MP5. Wow, Valve actually did their homework for Caliber stuff. Because those ammo types actually are shared. Also seen ingame, you load a round for glock and you see you have less for your MP5 and vice versa. And yet, they managed to make the mistake of thinking the SPAS 12 has TWO barrels, it only has one. Not to mention a double barreled gun only fires one barrel at a time. (And that all gun experts will tell you it'll mess up the gun if you try to fire both barrels at the same time.) Er, back on topic, they ARE different in the original Half-Life: sk_plr_9mm_bullet1 20 sk_plr_9mmar_bullet1 20 sk_plr_buckshot1 15 And I've checked, this works with the other HL1 mods as well. Tried in "They Hunger", and it SEEMS to work in "Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut".
  11. Easy, they're making Red Bull. (Reference to the Other Minds)
  12. Looking forward to seeing who wins, and how good their work is. Yes, that one would be perfect to go on a T-shirt.
  13. I caught myself thinking that the fist time i played RDR. The duels were to easy too, just aim at the the guy and press shoot... Try aiming at their hand. You also get more honor this way. (Although you don't lose honor if you aim for the head) It's harder. Or waiting till the last second to shoot. Or both.
  14. Oh, that is awesome. The only thing more awesome is when someone owns an arcade, and you can see it's always set on "Free play". Which means you can just continue.
  15. As the title implies, your favorite games that you play or have played in Arcades. Not required, but I would like there to be pictures or videos of the games in question. Some of them MIGHT be unheard of by others. I only have one: Every time I go to an arcade, I go straight to it. If there is one there. If not, I will still play other games. Video:
  16. Wherever I can. There are multiple stores in which to do so, and sometimes they're cheaper in one store than they are in another. Gamestop Best Buy Wal-Mart Hastings Oh and Steam. Occasionally.
  17. Most of these were taken from other users. But it IS things you hate to see in games. MMO's Monthly Subscribtion - What, it's not enough that I paid for the fucking disc in the first place? I have to pay MORE MONEY to join the game. Also, XBOX live is the same, gold membership to play online. Fuck. That. "The infamous ten second flashlight." Whenever it's not fully tested and doesn't work right. Bully: Scholarship Edition, for XBOX 360. As of now, still no good patch for it. (There is one but it's said to not do anything or WORSEN the problem) This is one of the worst. Cracked (of course, genius writers) puts it best: "This is like having to ask McDonald's to cook the burger before they serve it to you..." The only ones who can get by with this is any game released on STEAM, as more often than not, it's constantly updated and patched. (TF2, HL2, CS:S are prime examples.) Save points: Some of us have shit to do. We NEED to be able to save anytime, anywhere. Another user put it best: "Don't rob us of quicksave or save anywhere just because a few people will abuse it." On the same vein - A SINGLE save file. When companies release a half-assed game with thousands of things missing, which they then release in hundreds of different DLC's for $10-20 USD each release to fill in the blanks with what should have fucking been there in the first place. Unskippable Cutscenes - This is the MOST aggravating thing. Especially before a hard boss fight. Or whenever a game has a long intro and you're playing it through again. Whenever your character cannot jump. It'd only make sense if they were weighed down. Like Batman: Arkham Asylum. No signs of being hindered by weight, yet he still cannot jump. Whenever you have to go on a fetch quest for something, as opposed to just convincing the person to give it to you anyway, threatening them for it, or killing them for it. Oh, or stealing - Several RPG's actually handle this well. "Heart Attack" - Whenever a character is killed, their ragdolled body just slumps to the floor, like he just had a heart attack and died. We want our weapons to create WOUNDS! It's possible, it's been done in House of the Dead, if it was possible then, it's possible now. Not being able to play splitscreen: Why the hell do the consoles boast multiple controller use if the games are made to only use one? This is retarded! The point of this is so obvious: Greed. They want to force users to play lan with 4 consoles and 4 copies of the game if they want to play together. (Or share 1 controller. "When you die it's my turn") Poor escort missions: As said in my previous post, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl handled it exceptionally well. Cheap "Locked door" portions. Where the door is magically locked. Like the whole game world hates the PC's guts. Shoddy ports - Is it too much to ask that it be altered to better fit the system?
  18. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl handled this really well. One NPC mentions he's not a good shot, and you have to escort him. (Well, you don't HAVE to, but still) However, he actually is a pretty good shot, smart and tough enough to avoid being killed so easily by nearly anything you come across. If developers did it like this, it'd make escort missions SO much better. Or they could do like MGS3. Where they can be healed, not "instant death" when shot, and if you still don't desire to do a lot, you can tranq or knock out the NPC and drag them through the level.
  19. Red Dead Redemption: I just somehow knew my friend would wind up accidentally saving over my file (The one where I finally managed to unlock the "Legend of the West" outfit), but I didn't do nothing. (Like back up my saves by storing them to flash drive, which may not have worked. Does anyone know if it does?) Sure enough, he did, all my work gone. In the vein of the game itself: * I didn't know you had "survival maps" available to use, to make herb finding easier, so I spent the whole previous save finding herbs the long and boring way. So with the next time I had to do it, I got through it much quicker. * Not knowing that you're supposed to wait for the screen to display "DRAW" during a duel. I keep starting much sooner, and had a harder time winning them because the target was too small. (not zoomed in enough)
  20. Exactly! Which is why it sucks that all we're getting are slight update re-releases. However, at least I can have the next two, again, since I gave my PS2 to a friend who got his stolen. Plus I get to play Peace Walker without having to get a PSP. (And through other means, I no longer have the other MGS games)
  21. I didn't know the proper term. Regardless, should they do that? Or not? Wouldn't MGS: Twin Snakes counts as a remake, it's a whole graphics overhaul, along with gameplay overhaul.
  22. As some of you might have heard, remakes of games are becoming more prevalent. Much of next gaming year is going to be full of remakes. God of War Splinter Cell Metal Gear Solid Silent Hill. Not sure if these even count as remakes, I don't see much but some minor graphical updates for MGS, I haven't seen anything on Splinter Cell, and I have yet to look up the other two because of lack of interest for either series. But I want to see the opinion of fellow gamers? Should remakes of some classic series be done? Or should they be left alone. On the point of having Remakes: *For the longest time, games have always been hamstrung by the technological constraints of the old systems they came out on for graphics, cutscenes and even gameplay. (PSX had no mouth movement for people most of the time, HL1 had mouth flaps) This is very evident in the PSX and PS2 era. Now, there are very few constraints. The developers can actually do all the things they wanted to originally. * For those who never had the systems back then, and missed them the first time, it's your chance to play the games again, without having to go to an old outdated system. Which can sometimes be tough to find, along with the games. (Even worse if you distrust buying stuff online that's not digital distribution.) *You can play these games on a current system without having to get used to (or relearning) the quirks of the older systems. Ever go back to PSX or N64 and then remember the camera is controlled by the shoulder buttons? * There are some that did well: Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Things against remakes: *Sometimes, there's something messed up. MGS: The Twin Snakes, one boss battle is glitched, it is laughably easy even on the highest difficulty setting. For others: It's completely messed up. Play Sonic Adventure on XBOX Live, or better yet, don't. Space Channel 5 as well. (I've only heard) * It feels like a cheap cash-in attempt by the company to some people. When a remake done badly, this point is completely true.
  23. Say, would it be possible for a link of the soundtrack? I don't care about the quality so long as it isn't EXCESSIVELY bad. I mean to where it's not able to really be listened to so well. I didn't see any of the tracks you used as nowhere near the bad. I would like to be able to listen to all of those tracks instead of snippets of them. (Especially the one I had been searching for and finally found.) By soundtrack, I mean game rip. Or whatever you used for the Tunnel. Hell, I'd even take the track I was looking for and forget the rest if that was all that could be given.
  24. It's slightly different in The Tunnel because of Ross's editing skills.
