But Jaded Veteran Who "Does The Things No One Was Willing To Do" doesn't bode well for the tone of the story or intelligence of the writing.

Please tell me that's your paraphrasing and not the dev's actual words. Otherwise, trusting people who don't know the point behind the Cold War to write the story for a game based around theoretical a second one is just...wow.

I read through 8 chapters with my full attention, but my interest waned after a while and I just skimmed. The main character's a pretty bland person, and farely douchey. That and I find the whole "sex but not really" theme, while an interesting take, to just feel like the guy really, really, really has a clop-fic he wants to write but wanted to remain tasteful. That and shoehorning the definitely-not-author-insert human into episode plots; totally an interesting concept that isn't boring as shit. Admittedly the "Iron Will Fluttershy" one was actually a very natural mix, but the guy was just being a dumbass/jackass with the "possessed" thing.

It was after a month or so of playing that I just stopped playing, looked around, and asked myself "Have I had any actual fun with this game?" No. Brown, boring, broken. Brown, boring, benal. Too dated for me to have gotten much out of it. That and the combat's crap.

They said that when the soundtrack is made available, the game is two weeks away. If it really does happen, 2012 is looking to be a superb year for gaming. The year of Borderlands 2, the rise of fair F2P games (Tribes and Super MNC), the year where online petitions actually caused a PC Port of Dark Souls, Planetside 2, et cetera. This is the Duke Nukem Forever of mods, so let's hope the storybook has happy ending this time. The only thing that would make this even better is Half-Life 3 being announced the day after Black Mesa is released.

I know for a fact that means one of two things: 1. It is close. 2. They just felt like using it for something.
