The paint probably is the reason why it looks blocky, it's actually pretty smooth in a colorless shader. I don't actually know which variant has underwing hardpoints. But you incorrectly assumed I was making an F-35B (which has a partially bulbous region behind the cockpit, where the VTOL fan is stowed under smoothed retractable doors) but I'm making an F-35A, which does not have VTOL capabilities, nor is it Carrier-capable. The canopy I'll worry about later.

The Valiant and her convoy sped through the void without heed for the limits of physics, illuminated brilliantly as they were exposed to compressed amounts of light, quickly traveling near and past stars. Professor Argyle, having largely taken in the happenings of the morning, now was sitting in the main crew lounge, amongst the newer couches and silver-ish adornged lamps that decorated the room. He sat down on a set near the far wall bookshelf, holding one of his datapads and a small bluish case about the size of an insulated flask. There were only a handful of other crew members in the lounge, all seemingly minding their own business and obviously off-shift, since there were far fewer crew requirements while the ship was in Interstellar Mode. He quietly began browsing for something in his datapad as he thought to himself. "Pilots die. The fact that they take up ships with guns onboard them is it's own explanation that they forfeit their rights into the gamble of other ships with guns. You being part of that is just another transaction.... Good gravy am I really trying to tell myself that? -I can't let these inner worries cloud my judgement, all of these idealistic pursuits will have me at the long end of a short rope quickly. Although it may not be directly conducive to the conversation at hand, I would like to state that I both deny and resent the possible implication (intentional or otherwise) by aBy that I'd be afraid of ponies.
