Playing a Hearts of Iron 3 game, as Italy. Conquered Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Malta, Gibraltar, North Africa, Iraq, and Kuwait between 1939 and 1941. Then Germany, in her infinite wisdom, declared war on the Soviet Union...Right before winter. Since I had a border with them thanks to conquering Turkey, I'm along for the ride. Long story short, the entire offensive portion of the Italian Army (80% of the total) is now fighting it's way north through the mountainous terrain of the Caucasus Region toward Stalingrad in the middle of winter. What could possibly go wrong?
