Twilight Sparkle

Ugh, Derpy being canon is nice and all, but I really don't like how she was portrayed. Sure she had the derp eyes, but that didn't mean she was mentally disabled, just that she had an amusing appearance. But this episode pretty strongly implied that she does have mental disabilities. All the stereotypes are there, even the 'retard voice' (God I hate that word). My problem with this is that in a show like MLP, that essentially depicts a peaceful, perfect utopia, that means that stuff like this still happens. Honestly? That kind of ruined her for me. She was better as a background character for us to speculate about. And what are the implications? Why is there only one pony like her? Where are the others? Are pony genetics so perfect that no physical or mental disabilities ever happen, except for one tragic exception? Or maybe something worse, like parents hiding their defective children from the world? What kind of life has she lived when she is the only pony in the world that isn't perfect? Honestly, I liked this show better when I could pretend it was a perfect world. If you'll excuse me, I'll be retreating to the flame-shielded hate bunker. If this is really bleak, then forgive me. I just finished reading something dark as hell, and that kind of put me in a bleak mood.

Agreed, WTF? Anonymous is the most fractured organization ever. Any time something happens that they don't like, any number of people calling themselves members of it go up in arms and use their ever-adapting and varied arsenal of cyberdeath (DDoS) to protest against it. At the same time, the rest call those people newfags and the cancer that is killing /b/. Honestly? Anonymous as an organization can't really be confirmed to exist. The thing about it is, ANYONE can do something and claim to be part of Anonymous. That is the main point of Anonymous. It could be anyone. So whether or not Anonymous actually does anything, we will never know. It's not like that message was published by a High Council of Anonymous. More likely, it was just one or two guys who wrote it and hoped people would roll with it. Oh sure, I don't doubt that Anonymous as a whole is mostly opposed to SOPA and the Megaupload arrests, but how many of them actually did anything about it? Who the hell knows? Essentially, Anonymous is the Jew of the 21st century - they are thought of by paranoid individuals as some sort of secretive organization of conspirators and are blamed for most of the world's problems, whether it's their fault or not.

Well put. He would be a great leader, I think, to a person with political views different from my own. As far as politicians go, he is one of the best. As far as his party, he is the ideal candidate. For Libertarians, he is as close as they will ever get to controlling the executive branch. As far as my vote, I say no. He is essentially promoting isolationism, and that has not served us very well in practice. I could write a long list of reasons why I won't be voting for him, but I'll spare all of you and just leave it at that.

As far as gore, it never makes me vomit or feel physically ill. It DOES mess with my mind though, in the sense that when I watch it or read it, I will NOT stop thinking about it until I 'come to peace' with it by being able to laugh at it or pointing out something ridiculous. Otherwise I'd probably get nightmares from it.
