Given all the scandals lately, (what are we up to, five current ones, plus the fallout from older ones?) it might not be irredeemably evil of me to add "The White House" to the list. Benghazi IRS targeting Spying on AP reporters NSA infogathering on everyone State Dept. covering up sex and drug scandals

http://news.yahoo.com/teenager-15-executed-islamist-rebels-syria-154751521--abc-news-topstories.html There is no "good" side in the Syrian conflict anymore. Just innocent people caught in between two opposing groups of assholes. (Kind of an extreme version of politics in the US right now.)

This is why I keep my hard drive at a higher elevation than my work area. It's a bit awkward, but if I spill a drink (and I tend to drink a lot of diet pop and iced tea at my desk), the worst it's likely to do is destroy my keyboard and mouse.

The list is accurate, but not complete.

A single SEAL team, take out NK...roflmao. Nukes backing everyone up in a world where the Soviets won't have them for 4 years yet...lmfao. I have to ask, because this is reminding me SO MUCH of this guy I used to know... Did you spend college telling people you were authorized by the Civil Air Patrol to shoot people in the knees to keep them from leaving the scene of an aircraft crash?

Our signals are so weak, and jumbled (hundreds of broadcasters, overlapping information in dozens of languages on a limited range of frequencies in no particular direction), and they've been going on for such a short span of time (barely 100 years) that we're probably not even heard. We're static.

Yes, that doesn't exist either. While I'm at it, HAARP does nothing but study auroras, chemtrails are a paranoid fantasy, and there aren't any Battlemechs. Here's a couple things I've picked up oer these many years : 1 NOBODY has friends in Israeli Defene. Least of all the people who actually hang out with people in the IDF. (People who served their term in the Israeli military? NOT "Friends in Isareli Defense" any more than some guy who served a tour in Infantry is a "Miitary Intelligence Specialist.") 2 Anybody who KNOWS the truth about the numbers of Israeli nukes... isn't going to tell YOU. They're not authorized to tell you, and you're not authorized to know. What you're relying on is, if anything, boasts. 3 Saying something absolutely ridiculous won't really be backed up by claiming you have sources.

That would actually be beyond the capabilities of both the US and USSR combined, with China, France, and the UK putting all their stuff in for good measure. "Earth-cracking" bombs simply do not exist outside of science fiction. Actual and estimated numbers of warheads: US: 7700 Russia: 8750 France: 300 China: 240 UK: 225 India: 80-200 Israel: 80-200 Pakistan: 90-110 N. Korea: believed <10

You mean "no similarities?" Well, there were a few similarities. For one, a hostile media/left who, because they were kids then, think EVERY war is Vietnam, and can't resist comparisons, no matter how loose. (Also, the modern media exists not to tell the truth, but to get ratings and therefore lucrative ad revenue. Accuracy and due diligence went out the window a LONG time ago. The media isn't biased, it's lazy and corporatized and sensationalist.) We also had a similar dilemma in that there was no "exit strategy" for Iraq. There had been, but Rumsfeld pretty much discarded it, and that's part of what screwed everything up. This is what happens when political and military goals collide - everything goes FUBAR.

One of the consequences of having a government that can take care of every aspect of your life is having a government that sticks its nose into every aspect of your life. In other words, you get what you vote for. You make government into Mommy, then Mommy is going to be looking through your room to make sure you are "being good." Mommy doesn't trust Baby, Baby doesn't know what's good for him. and Mommy is a control freak.

Lessee... 2 suspects were identified, 2 brothers from Chechnya*, located, they engaged in a gun battle with police. One died, apparently of a combination of gunfire and his own explosives (which he was throwing at police) going off. The other is currently being chased. Mass. is pretty much on lockdown. Also, some of my Lefty friends who committed to the "these are Tea Party types" theory owe me apologies. None here, though, since that clearly didn't happen here. *Where's Agent Strelnikov when you need him?

1. My male role models are Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Gregory House, Alpha Church, and Grumpy Cat. 2. I am unemcumbered by conscience. 3. I am the go-to person aroiund the office for information on anything. The exact quote is "[He] already knows, can find out in a couple of minutes, or can make up a story convincing enough that your boss will believe it." 4. I'm a member of the world's most obscure band. Not even the most hip hipster has heard of it. I played Mellophone and Voice FX. 5 I can survive for extended periods on a diet of Necco wafers and other people's anguished torment. 6. I can kill you with my brain. 7. One of the preceeding statements is a flat-out lie. 8. It's not the 'kill you with my brain' one.

Way to screw up the formatting with endless periods. Doesn't resemble a temper tantrum thrown by a small child at all. Anyway, the quote is relevant, if somewhat of an exaggeration.

They showed their "open support" by voting with the US on sanctions against North Korea. There's no real evidence that they have the stomach for a fight of this kind, not on their own terms. North Korea is a mess internally. Industrial and power output have receded to pre-1990 levels, while frequent crop failures since a devastating famine in 1995 have compounded food shortages that have fueled chronic malnutrition. All that's keeping its people afloat are international food aid deliveries, mainly from China, which would almost certainly be disrupted or cut off in a war. NK has a 3-2 manpower and weapons advantage over SK, but their weapons are cold-war era or older, while Sk has state-of-the-art US-supplied weapons that most likely more than even the playing field. NK can't win a conventional war on their own. That leaves their chemical weapon stockpile (extensive) and whatever nukes they might be able to field, if any, and whether or not they are actually crazy enough to use them, given the certain response.

Yesterday, I watched three men die because one man sneezed in a room full of blood and shit and light. Today, three more men go in, cheap mops and each other's lives in their hands. Yesterday, I watched a man I admired gunned down for leaving a rose for a girl whose life was tattered by trauma she never deserved. Today, she doesn't remember, and three halls down I can hear her screaming. Yesterday, I watched a group of soldiers go down fighting against the corpses of comrades who'd died before them. Today, we test another sample, this time on children. Yesterday, I watched five men and women gunned down in an abandoned factory no one cares about. Today, it happens again and again. Every eleven seconds. Forever. Yesterday, I watched a man sit comfortably in a nice armchair, sipping scotch and laughing as he ordered a woman to simply stop breathing. Today, he gets the day off of work detail for good behavior. Yesterday, I watched hundreds of men and women in orange jumpsuits herded like animals into empty rooms that filled with gas and fire. Today, hundreds more are told they have a chance for a lighter sentence, and a chance to serve their country. Yesterday, I watched the world nearly die in a thousand thousand terrible ways. Sometimes we would have had time to scream. Today, I'm alive to write about it. You want happy endings? Fuck you. You're alive to read it. God help us all. Secure. Contain. Protect. -pooryoric, SCP Foundation, "black white black white black white black white black white gray"

Did I say I was? I am just as mentally incompetant as the rest of the world. Perhaps even moreso.

Yes. I am awaiting the second so that we may have a conversation.

Administrative professional? Seriously? That's resume' code for "secretary." Checked out her website. Paranoia and obsession. The lady doesn't have ANY kind of medical or scientific background that would give her the right to have an opinion on the subject. (Ellison said it best: "You do NOT have a right to an opinion. You have a right to an INFORMED opinion.") -

I took this long ago, and I'm too lazy to take it again. I remember that I had high scores in Schizotypal, Narcissistic, and Avoidant, and Moderate scores in Antisocial, and low in everything else. Took it to my dad, who taught courses in Psych snd Human behavior, and he found it entirely unsurprising. -
