Congrats to S.S., don't forget to join the UN so you can sap money and military protection from the UK and US!

How is it changing the punishment at all? How is it going to change anything except to increase the spread of what is illegal to things that shouldn't ever be illegal? As it is, it is up to companies to prosecute these illegal acts, those that perform them, this bill will make it a federal offense, and it will be up to federal authorities to prosecute... wait... you know what, I'm suddenly against this bill, this is just another expanse of federal power over our lives.
-
Reading comprehension? Never heard of it? Too bad. If you had bothered to read the full post or even look at the bill objectively, you'd see that endangering video game content is not the intention of this bill, but is due to its wording, the bill in and of itself is a good idea, but it needs to be more precise in wording, for it is intended to apply to illegal streaming of copyrighted content like movies and TV shows, not video games, and so I proposed revising the bill, but you didn't read that, you only read up to those 5 words and instantly decided to make a judgement call. All of that is already illegal, so why do we need another bill that says that illegal things are illegal, especially when it's way too broad? It isn't saying that, it is increasing punishment and the deliverance of punishment for these illegal acts, because the current system is not working.

In the words of Jeff Foxworthy, "We can't keep the most ignorant amongst us OFF the television." I don't seriously want to believe that people take TV as an accurate account for the majority of a people. If it is so... world, I am disappoint.
-
I wish I knew exactly what we did to the world that makes people so happy to embrace negative stereotypes.
-
It probably wont pass, it is a good idea, but the wording is too broad, they need to revise it. Why are so many people bashing the US?
-
Well isn't it obvious? I honestly am not sure, I really am not sure whether or not he is joking, and that is what worries me.
-
Demons summoned by cultist scientists? Please, please, please let this be a joke.

How about I cut your balls off and sell them to a Vortigaunt?
-
I didn't mind until Episode 36, merely because he tries to recounts what happens, what would happen if the experiment succeeded or failed, and it caught me odd that he didn't even joke or quip at how one of the men on the team was so paranoid about a Resonance Cascade, which it is inferred that Freeman knows what it is.
-
I wonder if Freeman really does know what a Resonance Cascade is, like the scientist inferred he did at the start of the game.
-
Back to square one, i suppose.

In all seriousness, this is a dire situation.

And how is that a good thing? Is that really funny? Is there no form of intelligent or sensible humor? Is there no form of humor that isn't shallow or degenerative? -
Regarding the Machinima.com complaints
MakoVlazkov replied to Alyxx Thorne's topic in Freeman's Mind
Heh, i tried to tell people that Machinima isn't "evil doom murderdeathkill corporation M" , and my rep instantly went down by 3. I guess i just rub people the wrong way? -
Not really. I can't remember a single moment in Half-life that didn't involve running out guns blazing and shooting your enemies in the face. The only time i can think of stealth mode is with the giant tentacle monster, in the actual game you have to crouch and sneak past them, using grenades to make them turn away from you so you can get to ladders and doors, Ross Scott didn't do that, he was able to use a little bit of HAX to get by them in a non-obviously-a-game way, but if you tried what he did in-game you'd die.

Does the idle animation for the MP5 annoy anyone else?

I really want to see him use the Gluon Gun. "What is this? Do we have our own Ghostbusters here?" -
Freeman Rejecting G-Man's Offer A Viable Option?
MakoVlazkov replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
And how, exactly, is that a good thing? -
I have to agree about Half Life 2 being silly. In fact I would go so far as to say unrealistic. I was swimming through a tunnel full of water as usual, except this time the combine kicked a bunch of explosive barrels in the water as I surfaced. I panicked and tried to get out of the water and find cover. I was expecting the concussion to transfer through the water gel my organs or something similarly horrible. I realized I couldn't get out of the way in time, so I dived to see the nice gory fireworks. I was totally unharmed by the blast. Oh yes, because Eli getting impaled by a Combine Advisor is so silly. I get what you're saying, but I have to respectfully disagree. Half Life 2 has silly moments in it, such as playing catch with Dog, but can you really say the original was this dark and literal game that took itself seriously? A game where scientists would just openly state, "Do you know who ate all the donuts?" during a situation that could kill them. A game where your final boss is a giant aborted fetus alien. What about the stupidity of scientists that would be so foolish as to willingly crawl into vents with fan blades in them? Now I'm not saying it didn't have serious moments in them, I'd say the ending with G-Man was pretty cool (and a little creepy) and the really freaky part where you see, as Freeman says, a 'twitching dead guy in a strobe light' I'm just saying Half Life 2 took itself more seriously, and it shows. The guns are far from cartoonish, they were futuristic, you're in the 2020s, of course they're going to look wierd compared to the modern day military equipment. And about the 'unrealistic' part where you thought the blast explosion through the water would kill you, it's a videogame. The same would happen in the original if Valve put that same thing in. You have a life bar for a reason. Now, once the Black Mesa mod comes out and we're comparing Half Life 2 to that, I'd change my opinion slightly, only in favor of Black Mesa because it looks really dark and looks like it takes itself a LOT more seriously. But as it stands, Half Life 2 is serious and realistic (though getting dropped from a far height in a car by a magnet crane is still up to debate) It's just futuristic. It's like saying Dead Space wasn't scary because Issac Clark looked like a cyber hockey goalie. It's just that the guns, enemies, and the setting are really strange. The weapons look like nerf blasters and (at least the 9mm Pistol) sounds like a toy, while the AR2 and SMG are extremely weak in the hands of anyone other than the player aiming for the head and instakilling everything. The Combine, for all their advanced military surgery, are for some reason a lot weaker and a lot less accurate than Rebels, which is guess is for gameplay, but it is silly that they can't even hit you from 50ft away.

I can understand ignoring the batteries, but the chargers have "HEV" printed on them with in large bold font, with an icon of the HEV Suit.
-
He'd have to know what they are, you have to be trained to use an HEV suit and it is part of the training, and given how much he both loves and hates (now knowing of the tracking devices) his suit, I'd imagine mixed feelings for chargers. No, I believe I remember him specifically asking what they are and then leaving them alone not understanding... maybe he forgot or those are different models. Well, that's just silly.

plus the whole idea of "plugging in" to a health charger and instantly regenerating doesn't make much sense, the way he treats them as cabinets for gauze and other supplies makes more sense. What I'm wondering is why he hasn't attempted to crack one open for painkillers.

It's obviously the second episode of Space Gulp, obviously. Basically. Basically.

Because he has been very lucky that he hasn't been shot in the head, only in the ear.
