I at first didn't care about the WiiU but it's growing on me, at least compared to the competition. It's a video game console first and foremost, and it's basically an HD Wii with a touch screen controller. That's fine by me. As for PS4, I'll have to see more of what it does before I make up my mind but Microsoft has already blown it's chances with me. I bought a 360 before a PS3 this generation, now I'm not going to get another Xbox. So good job, guys. Not sure about the Steam Box but it's looking like it's going to be the replacement Xbox for me. Good thing, too, given the name. And if it releases another Half-Life sometime within it's lifecycle, even freaking better.

I've said it before and I'm certain I'll be saying it in the near future - Microsoft has lost their minds. They have/had no idea what their consumer base really wants and either are trying really hard and failing spectacularly, or just did not care to begin with. I believe it's the latter, as all evidence points to it. The Xbox 360 wasn't that bad besides the 'Play online if you have Gold' thing and even then, that only applied to those who gave a damn about multiplayer. Honestly, I've been getting bad vibes about something like this for years every time I opened a 360 video that had Larry Hryb on it. He'd mention games and things such as, but neither him nor anyone with him ever really felt like they took this whole 'game console' thing seriously - or seemed that genuine to begin with. Microsoft has wanted an 'entertainment' console that everyone uses since they first came up with Xbox. This seriously sounds like one big conspiracy master plan to rule our televisions and the super secret agent team of man and monkey have to save the day. It's like some sort of Saturday morning serial where they're the bad guys. But, whatever, at the very least Nintendo and Sony know what kind of product they're selling. In conclusion:

Finally bought Brawl. I've rented it a number of times but never bought it myself because, frankly, it's been 49.99 for-freaking-ever. It finally dropped 10 bucks and while still kind of expensive for me, I ended up getting it. Maybe now I won't suck as much.

I just played an absolutely atrocious game of L4D2 Versus. I haven't been regularly playing the game for years but goddamn I was pitiful. By about halfway through it, I didn't even care anymore and just dicked around until they finally kicked me.

Well, one; it's only a couple days old, two; I haven't found anything particularly shitty enough to note on this forum recently (Although I'm sure several incredibly shitty things are going, I just haven't bothered to find them because I don't actively seek out bad news) three; I really don't think this qualifies for it's own thread in Gaming in General and four; while Joe Biden shouldn't be relevant to gamers in the slightest, this is a forum dominantly frequented by them and using that line of logic, it makes sense to submit articles around the topic.
