I'm not saying you should stop your series or anything, you've gotten yourself fans and everything by all means continue it. I'm just saying it's not really my cup of tea or anything. I've tried watching it I just can't really get into it.

In questionable ethics, they have aliens in cages and crap. They obviously knew about the aliens before hand. Now, how they explained the weapons training to the employees is a different story. "When are we going to use guns? We're physicists!" "Uhh... You could try fishing with it." But there's only like three scientists that use HEV suits, Gordon, Gina Cross, and Colette Green. (maybe more but I doubt it) I think Gina and Colette may have known about it already, so really they only had to explain to Gordon...which kinda sucks for him. But this is all speculation.

That would clearly give us a look at Freeman's life... His criminal life, Eddie, possigle gfs... We all knew from the beggining that in this very moment something big would happen, the switch to BM:S or something else... It's obviously not a switch to BM:S, Ross said so himself. I'm thinking a vision of the future to Half Life 2, but it could be something completely different.

Not necessarily. I doubt it'd be much fun if everything killed you instantly like that. I wouldn't like the game much if I died because someone killed in all of 2 hits, and either way, this may be because I've never experienced it, but I don't know if the explosion would send 'death ripples' plunging towards you in the water. About the Combine soldiers, they're taking several hits by an assault rifle, I doubt just because they were extensively modified they'd be able to withstand more than at least a magazine. It seems like most of these complaints about it being unrealistic come from the gameplay, which I'm gonna have to go back to, it's a game. And it wouldn't be such a fun game if you and everything else died in one hit. (though I personally use console commands to make all my weapons stronger) As for weapons being unrealistic, I can only say that it must be a design choice. I mean, the gun with all the metal things sticking out shoot bullets out of them. They're shooting out of all three of those things, clearly making it a more powerful gun. It also carries a ball that disentigrates people, if that's not futuristic I don't know what is. Like I said, I can see your point, but if it's really that big a deal, there's always console commands.

I think both of us have pretty much the same opinion there. I've stopped watching Barney's Mind. That says it all. While I respect his attempts at making a decent tie-in with FM, it felt like he tried to be like Ross Scott a lot of the time. Shepard's Mind (with the suggestive abbreviation "SM", lol) is indeed the most enjoyable next to FM. I never minded Barney's Mind so much because I figured, since Freeman and Barney are good friends during Half Life, I figured since Freeman has such a giant ego and personality, he rubbed off on Barney in a lot of ways, though Barney isn't as much of a jerk as Freeman though, and since Freeman is gone for the next 20 years or so, his personality 'rubbed off' of Barney and the fact that he got older and more mature so he didn't act much like Freeman anymore. My only real complaint with Barney's Mind is that he gets shot a lot and yet all he says is, "Ow! Gah! I hate bullets!" it's kinda dumb. But then again, Shephard's Mind kinda does the same thing and his series is far better.
-
In your opinion maybe. But Shephard's, Chell's, even Barney's Mind can actually be pretty funny. I don't particularly like Felix's and Freeman's(ish) Mind because they do seem like knock-offs. Felix's Mind just seems like a guy who got impatient that Freeman's Mind was taking so long and decided to take matters into his own hands...just like a lot of other people. The only reason his series is popular is because (at least in some people's opinion) he does an...okay job at doing it. Freeman's(ish) Mind is even worse because he's actually copying Freeman's personality from Freeman's Mind and using it as his own. The only reason why I don't absolutely hate it is because he actually devised his own backstory for it (at least I think he did) where I guess Freeman didn't meet G-Man and thus didn't go through time and is actually 47 by the time of Half Life 2, I'm assuming. But hey, at least they're better than all the mind series starring 10 year olds trying to play as soldiers in Call of Duty or something.

Freeman Rejecting G-Man's Offer A Viable Option?
Pinkie Pie replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
What are you implying? -
Possibly.

Dude, have you ever heard of 'He's taking the piss out of me' or 'Who took the piss out of me?' Many people use it. Ok, now that you think about it, it sounds weird but still, many people say this. He hasn't necessarily heard it. It's a peculiarly English--and by English I mean jolly ol' England--phrase, and if he's an American like most of us on here are, then he wouldn't necessarily have heard it all that often, or at all. I thought it was just something he thought up himself. I get what it means it just sounds wierd. XD

I loved the ending because now as Freeman said, "It's getting real."
-
Okay so...BEST ENDING EVER?! Ross's 'getting beat up' acting was phenominal. I still don't know why he laughed with them at the end but...whatever. I'd still like to know why you put this up instead of Ross, but I'll just chalk it all up to his internet sucks or something.

I have to agree about Half Life 2 being silly. In fact I would go so far as to say unrealistic. I was swimming through a tunnel full of water as usual, except this time the combine kicked a bunch of explosive barrels in the water as I surfaced. I panicked and tried to get out of the water and find cover. I was expecting the concussion to transfer through the water gel my organs or something similarly horrible. I realized I couldn't get out of the way in time, so I dived to see the nice gory fireworks. I was totally unharmed by the blast. Oh yes, because Eli getting impaled by a Combine Advisor is so silly. I get what you're saying, but I have to respectfully disagree. Half Life 2 has silly moments in it, such as playing catch with Dog, but can you really say the original was this dark and literal game that took itself seriously? A game where scientists would just openly state, "Do you know who ate all the donuts?" during a situation that could kill them. A game where your final boss is a giant aborted fetus alien. What about the stupidity of scientists that would be so foolish as to willingly crawl into vents with fan blades in them? Now I'm not saying it didn't have serious moments in them, I'd say the ending with G-Man was pretty cool (and a little creepy) and the really freaky part where you see, as Freeman says, a 'twitching dead guy in a strobe light' I'm just saying Half Life 2 took itself more seriously, and it shows. The guns are far from cartoonish, they were futuristic, you're in the 2020s, of course they're going to look wierd compared to the modern day military equipment. And about the 'unrealistic' part where you thought the blast explosion through the water would kill you, it's a videogame. The same would happen in the original if Valve put that same thing in. You have a life bar for a reason. Now, once the Black Mesa mod comes out and we're comparing Half Life 2 to that, I'd change my opinion slightly, only in favor of Black Mesa because it looks really dark and looks like it takes itself a LOT more seriously. But as it stands, Half Life 2 is serious and realistic (though getting dropped from a far height in a car by a magnet crane is still up to debate) It's just futuristic. It's like saying Dead Space wasn't scary because Issac Clark looked like a cyber hockey goalie.

hy doses freeman mind take forever to come out on youtube?
Pinkie Pie replied to Maxbun's topic in Freeman's Mind
I've heard and understand that arguement. The reason we're complaining is the fact that what they're uploading now is stupid Mortal Kombat and Call of Duty videos. -
Yeah, but there's only one worthy enough to bear the Ross voice.
-
You guys remember when the episodes were sent to Machinima and they uploaded them to YouTube at least the day after? Yeah...those were good times...
-
OH NOEZ THE WURLD GONNA BLOW UP KABOOM KABOOM
-
Took the...piss out of...is this a real expression or did Gordon literally suck piss out of people and I never even noticed it. O_O

Does the idle animation for the MP5 annoy anyone else?
Pinkie Pie replied to Arby's topic in Freeman's Mind
Yeah he just kinda looks at it or whatever. It's kinda wierd. -
The hazard course would soooo perfectly fit the description of Black Mesa by FM's standards though! I know right? I was scratching my head the whole time just wondering what in the hell was happening.
-
I like to think of Ross Scott's Freeman as the 'canon' Freeman but that's just me.
-
In Barney's Mind, Barney fell unconscious and had a flashback to the Hazard Course. The original Half Life Hazard Course was pretty ridiculous though. I mean when are the scientists ever going to need weapons training? And yes I know, during the Respnance Cascade but how would they know?

Freeman Rejecting G-Man's Offer A Viable Option?
Pinkie Pie replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
I don't...I don't uhh...think that will...happen... -
Ah yes. But knowing Freeman from FM, he'd just have walked past it or didn't listen to the security guard at all. More than likely he did the training, heard the gist of what they were saying, did it, complaining about the impracticality of it all, and then totally forgot about it later because he was so absorbed in what he was thinking at the time.
-
What's your point? I mean, there'll probably be a mod of Hazard Course once BM is out, but if there isn't, just pop in the original Half Life and play Hazard Course if you want.
