My rage about that is forever branded in my GMAIL name for my YT account: I was like really pissed though and it totally messed up all my accounts so now I have the wrong accounts linked to the wrong e-mails. Such a pain.

OR they just like the show and identify large aspects of themselves with the show. Just a guess, though.

Making lasagne and waiting for my virus scan to finish. Earlier today a virus fucked up my PC so now I'm hoping this scan will uncover the devil and let me destroy it.

First of all a 10 out of 10 is downright impossible. There is no such thing as a perfect game. Secondly as you said it is a reviewer's job to rate the game as a whole. That includes DLC as well as endings. Both of which there was/is an outcry in massive numbers about. Now don't get me wrong many of these people just like a good hate-circlejerk but in these amounts there are people who are truly upset. There is obviously SOMETHING wrong with the game. Which instantly disqualifies it from being rated a maximum score.

Yet an amazing amount of 13 critics rated it the maximum possible score.

The problem is what is their definition of Piracy? Because according to SOPA/PIPA pretty much everything you do on the internet is piracy.

Well I think we should talk about games that got someone started and if that is Mass Effect then so be it.

I am actually not that big of a fan of Anime, don't like the art style either. But I do like a few shows because I grew up watching them back in Germany. I think I like One Piece the most. As for manga(which is the same as Anime only in comicbook style, right?), I don't like comic books or reading for that matter to much so I have never been a fan of that.

Well what do you want us to do? Just say the game that got us started and that's it? Seems like a pretty pointless thread then.

That is something that is bothering me. Why do all metacritic reviews get put in the same box? This is how I view metacritic: First of all: Ignore scores. ALL OF THEM. Scores will always to some extend be based on opinion. And to add to that the current sittuation with game scores are fucked up(Everything lower than 8 is downright shit and somehow official game critics think something as a 10 out of 10, in other words the perfect game exists). Secondly, to a large degree ignore official reviews. Most of them just seem to have payed written all over them. Now the user reviews, this is where I think you should actually look. There usually is no threat of payed reviews so that's a good thing. The thing is now just that you have to find a sensible review. And even that is not that hard. If you see a review that starts out with: TH1S G4M3 SUX, I BOYCOTTED IT AND P1RATED IT LULZ, don't waste a second on it. Look for reviews which have arguments for and against the game based on objectivity and facts. Now a review is pretty much always going to have opinion. But even that is backed up by reason in a good review. I think it a bad idea to simply ignore the voice of other people all together. If you put effort into finding a review that is actually good then you will be more informed on making your decision to buy a game. You just have to be able to look through all the bullshit.
