Personally, I think that is kind of a douchy thing to do. At least tell him that you don't want to be friends with him but don't just stop talking to him without saying anything.

No it won't because the AAA titles are made for console which still have 7 year old hardware and the "next generation" will probably have 3year old hardware still.
