  1. Yeah I was waiting for it even before the first episode aired. I loved it, I haven't read the books but I know the entire story at least in a nutshell up to the last book that was released. Great cast and high production (can't expect any less from HBO, not after Band of Brothers) The only thing that might turn people off of the series is that the story is pretty confusing. There are a lot of different characters all advancing different stories at the same time. Some tie together but others don't for quite a long time. The LoTR's is a lot simpler. It's pretty clean cut good versus evil. A Song of Ice and Fire is a lot more gray, even with the Lannisters.

  4. That reminds me of Terminator 1 most of the future scenes were done with miniatures using tiny explosions. lol I kind of freaked out when I saw the making of, since before that I thought it was cgi or something. nope eDE7XolQRtw
  5. meh, these things are annoying like anything else that gets spammed. I voted regular. Of course, this entire topic gives a new meaning to beating a dead horse.
  6. I think CGI has it's uses. But unless it's masked perfectly by the real footage it is placed into, it's going to stand out. How to do it pretty well: Jurassic Park 1 how to do it badly: Most low budget movies, ie Poseidon: phantom below, Shark attack, Kidnap, etc As well as really badly done high budget movies. Wolverine, Green Lantern. the thing is, even mediocre cgi often looks better than choppy higher budget stop motion that isn't done well. Willow is a good example. that movie would have REALLY benefited from good cgi. Of course bad cgi also has it's pros: try not to laugh too much.
  7. Maybe a bit of both. it's why most people take a shower before. If it smells like fish and cabbage, I'd have hesitations.

  9. Goes with everything.. doesn't it? The moment I read your comment I thought of the Cheers beer version. SRgh6RTW_J8 anyway, listening to Simon & Garfunkel - Sound of Silence BvsX03LOMhI
  10. A homemade blueberry pie. It's beyond delicious, and it's even healthy too.
  11. The sunny yellow beaches.
  12. For a second there, I thought it said the red shoe. I had this on VHS, but I refuse to watch it.. then what is it doing in this thread? I don't even see a rating. =_= Anyway, about to watch blood and chocolate, will edit for a rating afterwards. 2/5 that was a waste of my time. honestly.
  13. Dead Man's Shoes (2004) A disaffected soldier (Considine) returns to his hometown to get even with the thugs who brutalized his mentally-challenged brother (Kebbell) years ago. thriller with human emotions and pretty good depth. 4/5 I liked it for what it was.
  14. Forgot to mention before. Brick
  15. I thought you were remixing. my bad.
  16. The quality of the samples doesn't sound very crisp. I like the beginning but after 0:18 there's too much distortion and echo for my tastes. It might also just be the player that degrades the quality, like how youtube does. I don't know. I think the song might sound better if it didn't have as much scratchy distortion to it.
  17. The real purpose of Metal; but back OT, I don't like growling, and seeing a girl do it, doesn't make me want to change my mind. I'll tolerate it if the singers voice is good and it's not over powering. Ie Insomnium which is fucking A. but in general, no. Plus a video makes it worse because now I can see a person growling while doing a super constipated face.
  18. Apart from Ross' work Sonic for Hire And Two Best Friends play (insert game here) As well as mans1ay3r's Halo vs Sonic the hedgehog. Overall favorite would have to be Sonic for Hire: bomberman Though Ice Hockey and Toe Jam and Earl are also really good episodes. Edit, and after looking back to page one it reminded me. Phoenix Wright bullshit evolved. And the phoenix wright parts of sanity not included episodes.
  19. Funny story: their version was dubbed. and it's not that I think the dub is bad, but after adjusting to the japanese voices, good luck getting me used to english. Oh was it. I'm so sorry. I didn't watch into it far enough to see if it was really subbed or not just enough to see if it loads. >_<; check your pm's I can do both. I usually do both as well.
  20. I think it's okay.. but it also sounds like it could use more work. It's not a song that I think is good as it is. Or at least it's not melodic enough to make me want to listen to it again later. That midline scratchy wobble thing you have going from 0:18 is what makes it both interesting and yet also mediocre at the same time. It starts out pretty good and I like the idea you have with the bassline. But like I said, that wobbly scratchy thing you've got going on. I don't know, it doesn't do it for me. Maybe increase the quality of the sound overall? Username, it's easy to hate dubstep. Especially in the last year or so. People have jumped on this misconception that dubstep is anything with a wobble to it. Or anything that sounds like a transformer orgy, so that people can call it dirty or whatever. Dubstep is nothing more than remixed house/electro with a prominent bassline. Often with syncopation. That's basically it. you can use whatever style of bass you damn well please. Just look at Benga - Duel. there's no wobble there. And he's practically at the origins of Dubstep.
  21. Genie from Aladdin. I want my three wishes damnit.
  22. Golden boy dub is actually not all that bad. "study, study, study!" If it has to be subbed, check on subbedanime. I did a quick google search and it came up like right away. though you'll need veoh i think. I actually recommend the Fruits basket manga over the anime. It's got a more clear plot. While the anime kind of just scrambles all over the place by the end. Though some of the comedy is better played out in the anime so that should be fun for you either way.
  23. That's a pretty good list. Some of my all time favorites are on there. Though I already mentioned them on a previous page, so I won't do so again. Eyeshield I've heard is a pretty decent sports series but I've never watched it, it's about football right? I do recommend Hajime no Ippo. It's basically the best pure boxing manga out there at the moment. Though I should warn you that the manga has really gone down hill in the last 150 chapters or so. Going from a sort of grounded in reality series to a lot of just plain ridiculous bs. It's great up to when the anime ends and for a few hundred manga chapters after too. though going from your list you're into anime more so than manga. As for FMP It's very funny so if you like action comedy. That's gonna be good for you. Though it's got mecha so for me personally that's an auto "no" as I dislike the genre. Still I think you're going to enjoy watching it. I noticed you didn't have it on your watched or your to watch list so I have a recommendation; Samurai Champloo. That series will make you laugh your ass off. While also providing some very well made fights scenes and a good plot. Same director and creator as Cowboy Bebop. So you should know what quality to expect.
  24. Both. Though I actually prefer lyricless vocals personally. Like: OCR01481: Raptor 'PlectraSubCity' OC ReMix [Listen to the Cries of the Planet]
