  1. Well Heavy Rain is an interactive movie. The gameplay (like you said, mainly QTE), is a vehicle for the player to make choices steering the story in different directions. If you don't like the story, there's not much else there to salvage it. Personally, I thought that, past all of the odd plot holes, the game was very touching and it really reeled me in by the end.
  2. lol, you're quite a cynical person if you actually mean that. I get the feeling most of your post is a joke though.
  3. Well, technically it was also doing those facial animations when Half Life 2 was leaked, so 2003.
  4. At this point, it really must suck not to have a ps3.. Missing out on games like Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Resistance, Killzone, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo... Sony is really very aggressive in getting talented developers to sign with them. There's also the fact that PS3 exclusives are generally 10x prettier than ps3 multiplatform games, because the developer can frame the entire games development around one piece of hardware. Uncharted 3 for example uses the ps3's 6 cell processor to load entire levels full of new assets in less than a second after leaving the last one.
  5. Not sure what you mean. It's certainly the same type of game, and it plays off the same paradigms. I'd say it's certainly more similar to Uncharted 2 than 1. The cinematic element has definitely been ramped up even more. I'd personally say it's a better game (and I loved U2)
  6. Uncharted 3. The day I got it I played it for 9 straight hours and finally beat it at 4 am. The next day I played another 8 hours and beat it again. It's the most amazing gaming experience I've had in a loooooong looooong time. Once again I'd implore anyone with a ps3 to play it. They talk in the "behind the scenes" how in Uncharted 1, they wanted to make a third person shooter, then in Uncharted 2, they wanted to take the cinematic elements from the first game and base an entire sequel around them. Then in Uncharted 3 they ramped everything up and gave the formula some twists. Seriously, things move so fast in this game. One minute you're sneaking through a cruise ship in storm, as the deck tilts under your feet with the waves. The next minute the boat is sinking, tilted 90 degrees, and you're climbing along the walls to get out. Next minute you've jumped out of the ship and are washed up on shore. It's awesome. That's not even the best part of the game, there are crazy action set pieces like that constantly, for 8 hours straight.
  7. Some guy traded me a paper hat for almost nothing so I used rebuild headgear on my 2 paper hats and got a Grenadier's Softcap
  8. Third eye blind.
  9. Wow, to actually be dropped a hat happens extremely rarely (every 500-1000 hours of gameplay). But to actually get one of the most useful hats in the game? Wow
  10. I'll be getting it on friday. Apparently race doesn't matter to stats now, so I'll probably go with a nord. I intend to specialize in magic. Conjuration and illusion and stuff. The cool ones.
  11. What we need to do is create a suppression field like in Half Life 2. That way we could control the population growth rate year to year and keep Earth at a healthy ~1 billion-ish population. You might say we have room for more, but think of how much more simple and comfortable life would be for everyone if we only had 1 billion people on Earth. But yeah, I'm also totally for terraforming/colonizing other planets as long as it doesn't lead to Dead Space style planet-cracking just to support Earth.
  12. Oblivion. Working on the thieves guild quests
  13. 10/10 Classic Fleetwood Mac song, excellent album as well. yGXxcNkqdzA
  14. Excuse me? It was released in 1972, not 1971. Nope, November 5th, 1971 in the UK. October 30th in the US.
  15. 3/10 Generic trance-ish music with no real substance. Oh, and I only listened to 4 minutes of that. To keep this thread alive, don't post 11 minute songs, man. aVIlp5_w4f8
  16. 4/10 Meh, after the other track you posted, I can say this one seems so similar in style as to be made worse. jjyBUEEtIvI
  17. 5/10 Sounds like generic nightclub music to me. I don't really get it, though I can see how some would enjoy it. BvndA7tfvz8 This album turns 40 years old today, and it's one of my favorites of all time.
  18. I voted for *rock*, but in general, I listen to anything I enjoy.
  19. "triple peanut butter" ice cream. Peanut butter ice cream with peanut butter cups and peanut butter swirls. Ice cream inventors are like mad scientists. This stuff is delicious.
  20. I found a glitch on ctf_well. With the sticky jumper, you can get over the invisible walls and stand on top of the enemy's base, shooting grenades down on them.
  21. Besides the fact that Vintage quality means nothing, Crit-a-Cola isn't even a great weapon. But if you're happy with it, whatever.
  22. I don't remember what my dad looks like either... but at least I get to see him every day.
  23. Listening to Pink Floyd's magnum opus, Echoes, the album of which turns 40 today. Currently at the 21 minute mark. This song never gets old. 3m83aDkLOyI
  24. Isn't Sheogorath the mad god?
  25. It took me a month to save up for my Milkman hat. Though, I got two reclaimed for free once, so it was probably quicker than if you just went from drops only.
