I bought the Orange box for Portal 1, HL2 and HL2 Episodes really.

Maybe you're just menstruating. Because men do that. Right?

Activision stopped making games around the early 90's. Now they're strictly a publisher. Valve is a little more than a publisher. I know, but they still screw up games they publish. I wouldn't know.

TODAY SKYNET BECOMES AWARE AND TAKES OVER THE WORLD
Alyxx Thorne replied to Luis's topic in Free-For-All
It's something from the Terminator movies. Originally intended to replace pilots and control tanks and jets in the army, Skynet eventually becomes self-aware and starts mass-producing combat robots intent on destroying humanity. And apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger is their model. -
lol, did You just answer Yourself?... lol Anyways, there is another game based on the build engine, it was some Japanese Ninja style game, but I never liked Japanese related games... Except Shogun: Total War. That's ok. Yeah, Shadow Warrior. It was actually also made by 3D Realms/Apogee in fact. It's not so much based on Japanese culture as it's just based on the Western interpretation of Japanese culture, lol. I didn't actually answer myself because I never asked any question, lol.

Beer is better than Superman 64.

I'll check it out anyway.

Blake Stone - Interactive food units, non-hostile NPC's, stealth gameplay... Clearly one of the 90's most underrated games. And it has a nice 50's sci-fi style to boot.

Thanks for the tip. If it's DOSBox compatible, I'll try it out.

Well that sure makes things less convoluted.

And you have never had your cock getting stuck to your vagina before?

Eh, the canon ended after Terminator 2 as far as I'm concerned.

"Mmmm... crunchy M&M... wait... since when did M&M's taste like dead beetles?"

I still love to play old games and be amazed at how awesome it must've been for people back in the day to play them and experience them, and I love discovering old treasures that I haven't heard of before. So I am in no way any "graphic whore". I guess I understand what you are saying, but in the end I don't focus on single parts of a game, like the differences between real time shading and 2d shading. I just take it as one whole experience, and judge each game by itself. So I guess we just look at games differently.

The worst machimina you've seen.
Alyxx Thorne replied to superjchamma's topic in Machinima in general
Most people are under the delusion that having GMOD makes you a good Machinima director... -
What game is it based on?

I recently played Bulletstorm and I was amazed at the level of detail in the textures, the backgrounds and the cutscenes. The game felt both gritty and dark at places and bright and colourful as well. I would still call that art even if a lot of it is code and stuff. I would rather see the beauty in both old and new games rather than say one thing is better than the other, because in the end it just boils down to your personal preferences.

When you say that all modern games don't look as good as the old ones SOLELY because they use 3d graphics, and regardless of the game, then you make a generalization, regardless of whether it is your opinion or not. I'm not taking it personally or anything, just saying you should probably consider the fact that 3d or 2d, games include graphics, and graphics is art, whether it's 2d or 3d. For me you just need to look at the right games to get that impression. I agree that early DOS games like Alone in the Dark and Myst look awesome for the time, and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge had absolutely stunning hand painted art that was digitally scanned into the game. But I think it's actually a good thing that those games stand the test of time that way. I just disagree that all 3d games look worse.
