I sincerely hope we'll see more than just a bugfix patch but I think it's unlikely. TF2 released well over a decade ago at this point. I think Valve is gonna put increasingly more people on new projects. But hey, they keep releasing patches for Half-Life 1 even now and then so nothing's impossible.

Funnily enough it runs perfectly on my 2010 Linux laptop due to me compiling a version that uses drivers for integrated graphics. -

You would have to ask Lethal Guitar about that, but I would assume it's because the port isn't fully feature complete yet according to what he has planned. -
