Why the 9/10?
-
Actually, in the original Ultimate Doom manual they state it stands for "Big Fraggin Gun" or "Big Friggin Gun" so there was an explanation for it. I can prove this considering I own a real copy of the original Doom. Also, in the movie it was used as an acronym for "Bio-Force Gun", though that makes it a totally different weapon considering the original BFG uses plasma. But yeah, "Big Fucking Gun" is the unofficial fan name for the gun since, well, it's a big fucking gun! Edit: Upon closer inspection, the Doom manual does not list any name for the weapon. Oh well, I am pretty sure id at some point disclosed what BFG stands for. Oh well... it's a big fucking gun to me.

Main problem I have is that I have a lot of games I'd rather play. Sure, I could play TF2 but why would I when I could play something else that I find more enjoyable? Different strokes for different people, that's what I mean.

Suiting up to spend the evening playing Doom 3 BFG Edition.

I love FPS games but that doesn't mean I enjoy TF2. I just don't find it engaging or fun at all. I'd rather play Doom or Quake to be honest. Or hell, if I wanna play a free-to-play FPS I'd rather go with Blacklight or Tribes.

Heard about that. Hope you guys are doing alright.

I agree. EA has made some of my favourite games, including the early Need For Speed games and they also published Syndicate last year which was a good game despite receiving a terrible PC port. It wasn't awesome but it was pretty fun in multiplayer at least. That being said, they have made some rather dumbfounding decisions recently... And I think EA's main problem is that they try to co-develop games they should just stick to publishing. The thing that ultimately ruined Ultima 9 was EA's meddling because they feared the game wouldn't sell if it didn't have this and this, not to mention it was being rushed as hell. Same happened to Mass Effect 3 I believe. The ending being changed to what we ended up getting was probably largely due to EA stepping out of their publisher role and trying to meddle with development which just causes more chaos than good. The same happens to a lot of big budget movies that end up being terrible because the studio publishing the movie meddles with the director's original vision and turns it into a clusterfuck.

Maybe you should give it a shot some day.

I hope they are showing the movie here this Thursday when I get my monthly payment so I can go see it. I've been waiting for another Bond movie for years. I loved Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace at least had some good action scenes and Daniel Craig is such a badass.

Well, BioWare used to be doctors before they started making games.

Yeah, I've been there around those people. I always find some way of punishing them without them knowing it was me.

Hey, at least you have a friend in her. That's something.

For some reason, despite your username sounding human, I have a feeling you don't belong to our species. Oh, and I read faces as "feces" and gagged.

Yeah, Italy has some nice country sides, and the food is legendary.

Yeah, the Mass Effect games were pretty good but if I was gonna list my favourite games of ALL TIME then I feel listing games that were released after the year 2000 would be a bit unfair since I've played PC and console games since around 1991.
-
So if I was gonna make a top 10 list of my favourite games ever, it'd be something like this: 1. Doom 2. Blood 3. MDK 4. Duke Nukem 3D 5. Tetris 6. Tomb Raider II 7. BlackThorne 8. Grim Fandango 9. Star Fox 10. Duke Nukem

Yeah, games can be great therapy in tough times. ah all too true I notice that my crazy meds actually do less for me than playing games. Specifically after a traumatic brain injury I sustained (faceplanting into ice at 60 mph kinda does that, cracked helmet cracked skull etc.. bad times) my world was upside down. I could not write, read, or remember most of that year (still don't) or much before that and crippling headaches. Video games managed to motivate me to keep going and even fixed my hand-eye coordination in the process. plus in school since ive started playing games heavily my grades have been improving and my depression is all but gone. pills may have helped but Microsoft and Valve helped even more. Yeah, that's a prime example of how games can actually improve your life quality.

That's a way to deal with a computer problem. Blast away the computer. But yeah, try not to derail the thread, please.
