  1. Unfortunately, you have been eaten by a lurking Grue.

I just discovered this thing. Its sort of a game. You think of a person, real or fictional, and then answer questions about the person you're thinking of and the AI tires to figure out who it is. It's pretty accurate, knowing a large number of characters from a wide variety of sources. It even got the Freeman's Mind version of Dr. Gordon Freeman. Here you go: http://us.akinator.com/#
  3. Good Idea: carefully and professionally clearing minefields
  4. I think your a bit confused. Duke would never just get a T for Teen rating, or god forbid below that, but the question here is how they managed to avoid getting an AO, or Adults Only, rating, which would keep the game off shelves since most retailers refuse to sell AO games.
  5. Video? I can't find it anywhere to check.
  6. It's not entirely accurate, but it essentially describes "The Green Apocalypse" AKA Resonance Cascade for all practical purposes....except the interdimensional rift part.
  7. I love how they squeeze in a CoD joke at the very last moment
  8. works on fallout 2 intro as well btw.
  9. This one isn't bad either
  10. It fit trololo perfectly in the version I saw, the lip synch and gestures made it an amazing fit. Some of my favorites are the Hindenburg and NASA rocket failure montages.
  11. good episode all around, my only issue being how "subdued" his reaction to remembering what had happened was. I was expecting a big HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN KILLING ALIENS AND THE MILITARY IS FUCKING RETARDED moment, but I guess he doesn't remember the military just quite yet. I love level design criticism bits.
  12. I'm sure you all know the meme. Try to find any video to which this particular piece of music does not fit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iof5pRAIZmw#start=0:00;end=4:05;autoreplay=true;showoptions=false
  13. Duke Nukem has hats, lol.
  14. I hate that. I generally find most games to be the most balanced upon initial release, especially with class based games like TF2. I also don't like nerfs as a solution to balance issues. sometimes they're needed but no matter what someone is going to see their favorite item/character/weapon/whatever become worthless and ruin the fun they were having.
  15. being forced to repeat a scripted sequence or cutscene which comes before a difficult sequence like a boss, only to die and have to sit there and repeat with little gameplay. Especially bad if dialog is involved, eventually you can repeat the whole scene from memory.
  16. that's only with Duke's big Package
  17. sounds like a sweet deal, lucky for you that valve publishes with EA
  18. why do they all have 9 rep?
  19. The final game is still rough but MUCH better than the demo. the retail Highway Battle part 2 is greatly improved. I'm kinda annoyed that they made that demo public since, considering the already bad taste in people's mouths with the reviews, it won't do the game any good. That demo is very rough compared to the finished product and it will turn people away from an amazingly fun game. Oh, and you get a great set of rewards when you beat the campaign fyi, including a Duke soundboard, all the trailers made over the years, art, developer pictures, cheat codes, it's a really nice touch that you don't see too often these days.
  20. Just beat it. It was kickass .
  21. I'm all out
  22. Some links already display in orange for me for some reason, doing that to all links wouldn't be too much of a problem
  23. This forum discriminates against the poor and asserts disingenuously!
  24. Ok, I got my copy today. I was a little disappointed by the minuscule size of the bust, but the number of other goodies, including a comic, and the awesome art book more than made up for it. As for the game itself, it is obviously a little rough around the edges, but it is undeniably FUN and hilarious. If you can overlook a game's flawed and just enjoy it, Duke is perfect. I only got a little past the first battlelord fight and tried a bit of multiplayer. The multiplayer was a little choppy, but just as fun as single player and feels straight out of the 1990s in a good way. I really hope the community keeps alive because DNF got a multiplayer encouragment system perfect with the mansion rewards system. NFL 2K5 had a similar system that I enjoyed, and Duke employed it perfectly here. I'm playing the 360 version and the biggest flaw is the long load times, but installing it to my hard drive made them manageable. The driving controls were also noticeable tuned up from the demo and previews, still a little iffy, but not really a problem. Bottom line: It's fun and that's all the matters. Hail to the King Baby! On 360 the default controls are very different from CoD and Halo, but you do have the option to use their controls plus the "Valve" controls from Half Life and L4D. A nice touch imo.
