I'm guessing multiple reasons. Elite is a long running series so it already has a following, on top of the novelty of having every known star in the galaxy as a place you can visit, all scaled 1 to 1(give or take some distancing error bound to happen with this sort of thing). I haven't seen anything from SPG2 so I can't really say how it compares gameplay wise.

I was actually gonna mention Darkwood. When I saw Sunless Sky on the list I couldn't help but notice how it felt similar in pace and execution. As for some of the ones mentioned, I would definitely encourage Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I went into that game blind just like you and I was surprised with how good it was. As far as I'm aware, despite how it looks I'm hearing people say it still runs really well on lower end systems but I'm not sure with what you're currently working with so I can't say if that'll make a difference. As for Elite: Dangerous, it's kinda hard to say. You have to REALLY like space to play it(And I REALLY like space). I have the game and it's mechanics are rock solid. Controls are tight and feel great, and there's a lot you can do... but it feels like it needs more. I know they're still developing it and they have a long list of things they want to implement so you're probably better off waiting anyways. I feel I need to say something about H1Z1. The game is fun, but I feel like you need to play with friends to get the best experience. Even then meeting up with those friends is a quest in and of itself. I would say something about The Forest but I haven't played it enough to form an opinion yet. I just know that things can go south very VERY fast if you aren't careful. As for the cannibals, I believe they were because the game was originally designed as a full on horror game but was eventually turned into the survival exploration game it is now and they left the cannibals in as the threat. I think that covers it. I will say that I've been kinda sheltered with my programming and studying lately so this video was more informative for me than anything. Saw a lot of titles I hadn't heard of yet that look pretty good. Gonna have to follow a few of these. We Happy Few actually catches me the most of all of these. Idunno what it is about psychotic worlds portrayed in that era that get me but they do.

I didn't get to hear the "fuck off, windows!" when we played league :< but you did get the "No windows, not now! God damn arg!" or a similar variety. It happens when I'm in a good mood. Not sure if you heard it.

My catchphrase recently has become "Fuck off, Windows!" Last year it bluescreened and when I did the recovery it installed an unregistered version, which is stupid because it came from the hard drive itself. Now every few hours regardless of what I'm doing it'll put up this blue splash screen that says "activate windows" for a few seconds before it lets me drag it away. Only problem is it like literally waits for the most inopportune time to do that, like literally less than a second before I click on something(Consistently. Could happen 3-4 times a day) or right as I start a boss fight in a game or get a message from a friend, etc. And every time it happens I let out a hearty "FUCK OFF, WINDOWS!"

One of the IT workers at my college used to tell me about when he worked for the Best Buy IT department and would regale me with stories about how his day consisted mostly of helping people remember that computers needed to draw power from an outlet to function. A lot of people like to mock IT for asking if they made sure the computer was plugged in and powered but they ask it for a really good reason.

Sitting in bed trying to move as little as possible. My stomach is very upset but I currently have a hold on it's contents yet I feel like any excessive movement will make me lose that hold.

I get Deja Vu on an almost daily basis. Mostly very minor experiences, not strong enough to even really just make me think "huh", but every so often I get one so intense it can stop me in my tracks. It's always fun when they happen though, regardless of the reasons.

Playing around with Unreal Engine 4 and the C++ integration. Excited to learn what I can do.

Slowly waking up and feeling like a debatably lucky survivor of a 20,000 elephant stampede. AKA I hurt something fierce.

Sometimes I feel like people just completely ignore me or brush me off right to my face, as if I'm somehow not gonna notice. This past week we've had a guest down from Washington and she can be... difficult at times. Today is the day she flies back up, but that's not until tonight. My plans for today involve getting dropped off at my former college so I can meet up with a group of friends since they wanted to go post-quarter celebrating at the nearby bar. I don't need to be there until late and I figured on the way out to drop her off at the airport I can get dropped off at school. Here's a rough draft of how this proposal went down. Me: "I figured since you need to head out there anyways I could just get dropped off when you leave." Her: "Oh well in that case let me take my shower now so we can leave early." Me: "No, I don't need to meet up with them till tonight so you don't have to hurry." Her: "The shower won't be long, then we can go." Me: "It's only 9:30 am, we can wait until like 1 hour before you originally decided to head out at 5. Her: "I'll be out soon, don't worry." *rips out hair when she turns away* Edit: An hour later I finally make it clear that I meant later as they're ready to head out the door. "Oh you should have made that clear earlier." Are you fucking kidding me?

Youtube comments is the budget online daycare for all the adult babies who's parents couldn't afford to send them to 4chan. I've since given up trying to find something there that doesn't ruin my day little by little and just avoid the comments completely. It's never been a fantastic place to look for intelligent life but it seems to have gotten worse over the years.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Never thought of it that way. Though it really does explain a lot, such as how I was able to crank out so much more work when I decided to start giving myself schedules and deadlines.

For me it's not so much that I don't want to do it, it's that I don't know where to start. Once I can get myself to start I can get a lot done in a very small window of time. On top of that, I need a certain level of pressure to drive me. If there's no pressure, I tend to feel it's not important and then end up putting it off. Fucking psychology man. What even is our brains doing?

Swearing off early morning Battlefield games. Not only do the majority players forget their morning coffee, but they all skipped nap time too apparently. Like I believe I found a community more aggressive and annoying than League of Legends.

In my crotch? Stop me if this is getting weird.

I was being silly. Better yet, "We don't talk about the last time I listened to my crotch"
