So when 1.2 was released I told myself "this is the best update to a game I've seen, I don't think they can outdo themselves" and now that 1.3 is out I'm eating my words. Expert mode was possibly the best addition to this game yet and it's brought me back to putting long hours into each play session. http://terraria.gamepedia.com/Expert_Mode I really can't wait to get to the moon events in expert. I'm close too. 2 bosses away from being able to get all the gear i need to do it. As I speak I'm preparing for Plantera. My last attempt I almost get em but there was just too much outgoing damage in the final phase so I have to build a Star Veil. What I need for that comes from Mimics and all those want to give me is magic daggers. :/

Rocket League. Nothing quite like playing soccer with a car in the most UDK looking game I've sever seen.

It happens less with video game programmers than it does with the actual artists in a lot of these companies. Programming is a rather desired position so they can get away with a higher salary on an intro position than a modeler or animator could. Modeler's and animators are a majority of the work force trying to get into the industry so companies always look for that one guy who's willing to work harder for less money than the rest. Very true, but not exclusive to just needing to eat. So of us in the industry just simply enjoy what we do and have no personal quarrels with dropping several more hours into their work to see it through. On two occasions I've attended the Global Game Jam and both occasions I stayed up long past everyone else working on something. I didn't need to, but I wanted to. Of course not everyone has that luxury. Too many people end up selling themselves short because they need the money. Btw I'm not excusing that behavior but confirming that indeed exploitation is a widely used tactic amongst just about every company.

That's not really a gimmick, that's just flat out incompetence and scummy business practice. Really hope that it's a rarity in the industry instead of a common "mistake" More seriously I would say it's pretty rare. I haven't heard about that too much and when it does happen on a broad scale word gets out fast. Gamers can be pretty vengeful when it comes to being cheated out of their money.

Not sure where you heard that but tea does not have more caffeine than coffee. One of the biggest reasons I stopped drinking coffee in the first place was due to my doctor recommending I severely reduce my caffeine intake because of how the caffeine's stimulation interacts with my ADHD meds' stimulation (ADD meds are an amphetamine, a stimulant). They suggested tea because of the significantly lower concentration of caffeine. I only had some that day because I wasn't taking my meds and thought it wouldn't be that bad, but discovered how intolerant I've become to caffeine lately. Aside from that I don't need google to figure out how much worse the heart palpitations are with coffee than with tea. ANYWHO, I feel pretty good. I'm making steady progress in Expert Terraria and should have Plantera beaten by the end of today.

Terraria. Just beat all the Mechanical bosses in expert. Time to move onto planning for Plantera, my favorite named boss.

Water is pretty cool but it's also very hard to photograph. XD The surface reflects so much the even the slightest bit of reflection can throw off the picture's exposure. Edit: also that is a big camera lol. I think that's even larger than my family's. At least the lens is.

I have a photography buff for a dad and he kinda rubbed off on me so sorry, gotta critique. Well, you definitely have an eye for a shot but your technical level could use a tad bit of work. The lighting is very washed out and kinda grainy hinting at a bit of overexposure. I'm assuming you used auto mode for this? If so what you could do to trick the camera into trying a better shot is to meter lighting. Most camera's let you half press down the picture to sort of lock the settings such as exposure and focus and then takes the photo with those settings when pressed all the way down. To meter the light on auto, try focusing the camera at something that's brighter than the what you want to take a picture of, and then while half holding the button, point at what you want then press all the way down. I've rivaled some of my dads shots doing this on Auto and he hates when I do that, especially since mine's not even a DSLR and about 1000 dollars cheaper. XD Then again, he shows me up, like with the picture he got of when they were moving the space shuttle to LA on the back of an airliner. I'll try and see if I can get him to send it to me to show. Anywho, sorry about that, the pictures are definitely not bad but I had that tiny bit of photographer blood wanting to get out. I do like the detail level in the water pic. I can never get that much detail in mine.

I wish I could enjoy having the house to myself but I get antsy when I can't talk to people in person for extended periods of time and the family is often a good candidate for just that. I may be introverted but i still need social contact. Anywho, I feel... off. Been drinking so much tea lately that when I have coffee now it messes with my system. I don't like shaky hands.

Self/less 8/10 Solid movie, good actors and entertaining stories. Picked up on some things through it (the ending I knew was gonna happen ) and was taken by surprise in other parts.

My issues with gimmicks are when they're done essentially "because we could." I mean they can still be fun at that point but at the same time most gimmicks done that way really don't need to be there and often add unnecessary time to the learning curve, especially when they aren't very well done. I do like the idea of mods and customization though. Not sure I would ALWAYS call customization a gimmick because in games like RPG's it's pretty much expected to be allowed to have a unique character. I guess if there's one gimmick in general I have a lot of issues with it's crafting systems. So many games do it wrong and it becomes intrusive on the gameplay and fills your inventory with garbage you think you might need later. Dying Light managed to pull off the crafting system better IMO because all materials had their own separate inventory and they were more about helpful aids to the game than they were a requirement.

My issues with Fallout 3 and NV are purely from a technical standpoint. More so in NV than 3 they cut SO many corners model wise. Like I've seen students model and texture weaponry that looked way better than what I saw in NV. Aside from that little peeve I have always enjoyed the gameplay so I'm interested in seeing what they have to offer on 4.
