  1. Goodness, another classic member comes to check in. Welcome back, how've you been? OT: Watching Markiplier suck at Don't Starve.
  2. While i realize it's Username, the simple fact on it's own that I have an owl perched on my shoulder pleases me. It pleases me greatly. Owls are my favorite bird. <3
  3. My brother's 5 years older than me and I grew up under the mindset that I had to match or be better than him at everything so as a result I'm highly competitive in a chaotic sense(I hate the slow, structured approach competitive modes in games take. If I'm gonna beat someone at something, I'm gonna do it my way) and constantly looking for anything that'll let me get better. it's more than just games, I'm like this in a bunch of things. I'm never satisfied with where I'm at in anything. In a sense I can't enjoy myself unless I'm putting myself to the test. That and when you finally beat that one boss that's been kicking your ass for 3 hours you feel invincible. OT: trying to get Just Cause 3's graphical problems to go away. yet again I apparently need to update my drivers to the now released but formerly beta drivers. This is getting old, frankly. Edit: So the BETA drivers from November 14(15.11) have no graphical problems but the official release from 2 days ago(15.12) have horrible graphics bugs. AMD... what the fuck?
  4. I just discovered a strategy to beat Rom every time. This changes EVERYTHING.
  5. It does mean what I think it means because "what a dick" refers to any and all assholes(sentient, non-sentient, and/or inanimate) responsible for requiring me to make these elaborate plans in the first place. Edit: At least, that's how it started. I just use it for pretty much everything now.
  6. Playing Bloodborne again and surprising myself that I' m not only holding my own in a defiled chalice dungeon but even managed to down a boss only dying once. (defiled dungeons have special enemies that are harder to fight and your health is cut in half.) it's an exercise in patience if ever there was one.
  7. So when i went to the dentist office today I got what I was expecting, the "you need to floss more" routine despite flossing everyday. What I was't expecting though was to be on the phone with 911 after my dad's asthma decided to give everyone the biggest scare of the year when his throat closed up completely for 15 seconds. It opened on it's own before the paramedics even got there but fucking hell I was so frightened I was shaking and nearly in tears. I was so panicked I couldn't even remember the name of the office or even what street I was on and that sent me into a deeper panic. Thank god they were able to figure it out from my phones location itself and were right up the street. I was just supposed to get a teeth cleaning not be fearing for my own fathers life. Just glad that it's over and everything was fine.
  8. Amused and in overall good spirits despite the current situation. I feel like Bloodborne's RNG is laughing at me. I just got a level Cursed weapon gem with +21% damage only when at full health which is good for defiled dungeons since the focus is never taking hits(In defiled dungeons enemies are stronger and your max health is cut in half, effectively making everything 1-3 hit kills. Mostly just 1 hits.) but here's the thing: Cursed Gems always roll 1 random downside. Sometimes it's weapon durability down, or stamina cost of attacks up, etc. Mine was drain health constantly 7 hp a sec. This gem has rendered itself COMPLETELY useless. XD Goddammit.

  10. Dental appointment in 45 minutes. Can't wait to hear about how I don't floss enough.
  11. Downloading Just Cause 3. Gonna take forever on my internet but it just looks too fun.
  12. I will come up with long, sometimes elaborate plans in games under the single purpose of "what a dick." ex: "Well I guess I'll head back to the Hunters Dream and restock my health, blood vials, and bullets; maybe shift a few gems around to some more effective weapons; also should check if I can level anything up because what a dick..."
  13. No need to apologize, I don't see anything wrong with that. O_o A discussion is a discussion regardless of participation order. If you got something meaningful/on-topic to add then it's 110% acceptable imo. But yeah I did swear by it back when I couldn't even run Oblivion on my pc without console disabling grass just to run the game smoothly and I had games like Red Faction on my PS2(Which i've probably sunk several hundred hours into. Was also the first game i ever played with joysticks since like almost no ps1 games used them). I guess the more exposure I had to PC based shooters the more I started to like the fine-tuning it allowed. Though I still prefer controller for driving, platformers, and hack-n-slash style games.
  14. I had that working at Blizzcon. Day 3, 2 hours into the 8 hour shift my eyes got that fire feeling when open. That was my least favorite day lol. OT: watching Gassy Mexican's youtube playlist of Don't Starve Together and marveling at how the game world generator keeps handing them ideal situations yet they all screw it up worse than I do solo and I barely just started. XD
  15. I play GTA V with both M&K and controller. M&K on foot and controller when driving/flying etc. Though that's annoying in it's own right since GTA V's controls are confusing and easy to forget for both so trying to learn and remember them for each takes a lot of time and errors. I really don't like controllers for FPS's because of the stick thing. Some people swear by it but I just feel sluggish and restricted and like I have tunnel vision.
  16. While I have no qualms against "horrible drivers" since I've been dealing with them for 7 going on 8 months now, the simple fact remains that no matter how hard a driver is to work with, as a matter of business morality(which, incidentally, is a joke amongst my old colleges business students <.<) it's still up to the company to make sure their game is running properly on as many types of hardware as possible. In fact, it's a rather dirty move to not bother optimizing your own game and instead waiting for the card company to optimize it for you, which mostly only happens when the player base is large enough that the amount of people complaining about the problem is significant enough that AMD needs to do so in order to 'save face'. Bethesda is not 100% free of blame in the situation that all AMD cards are having trouble with one of their games. Plenty of games from smaller companies are well optimized and running perfectly on AMD cards as well as Nvidia so there's little excuse for Bethesda to have this problem not just once, but repeatedly with their games. (Skyrim, F:NV) That being said, from the update notes on their most recent driver, it would seem the AMD 2xx series, specifically noted 290(my card) is having the worst of issues with Fallout 4 and is being worked on. Doesn't excuse anything but at least gives me hope that I can play the game normally finally. Bethesda has always struck me as a particularly lazy company throughout the years. From bare minimum of voice actor variety to optimization issues, it just strikes me as them reaching the bar but refusing to raise it. Both companies need to get their shit together. Not one or the other, both. That's my vent.
  17. Bloodborne. The final boss of the DLC... What were they thinking? all opening moves lead to a stun lock unless dodged, a move that IF dodged, you find out is a favorite combo of his for most of phase 1. And phase 2 comes complete with 2 instant kills. Fantastic.
  18. So I was playing Bloodborne just now and caught footage of an idiot with explosives. ksxVZpjSyNg
  19. Now that you'll have seen it when you read this, it probably didn't blow your mind. However it wasn't a bad film. But I'd say it suffered a bit from "wait, how do we finish this?" which utterly destroyed 'Knowing'. It did have that feeling. I will give them points for originality since I don't think I've seen a movie end itself like that before. OT: Eating breakfast.
  20. About to watch The Babadook because why not.
  21. Kingsman was a really fun film. Die Hard: 10/10. Corny at times, possibly a major player in starting some of the cheesiest movie cliches but I'd be lying if I said it isn't fun to watch.
  22. This terrifies me. Like legitimately terrifies me. Usually when something comes up that gives too much unnecessary power to a government, there's a lot of resistance from a population but the fact that they're embracing this with open arms makes it so much worse. I guess the best we can hope for outside of it not happening at all is that it stays in china and no other countries try that. Fuck indeed...
  23. Playing Bloodborne again. DLC is the last thing I have to complete before I've pretty much 100% this current playthrough. (Give or take some missed items that aren't essential. All bosses cleared, all side quests completed and all factions joined and completed) I really want to loop to NG+ but i don't want to lose any DLC progress by doing so. My biggest reason for delaying though is every NG+ is one more time I have to fight Rom and I don't want to deal with that until I have no other choice. he even has a Chalice boss version which is just downright insulting. >
  24. @jeb: I've never played it but from what i understand it's similar to the old IRC game Mafia and that board/card game Ultimate Werewolf. So I'm guessing as the jester you have to try and die meaning you did your job? OT: Bloodborne again. Except for dungeons, the nightmare, the DLC, and 2 bosses, I've basically done everything I can in this playthrough. Still don't want to loop to NG+ untill i've done everything but I hate the nightmare :S
  25. I think my friend is undead because he's still moving but has no life.
