WoW. I encountered someone who must have some bad shit going on in their life because they went off on me because we lost a random queue 2v2 arena. And I'm talking straight up sending me angry messages afterwards and just... So there's typical angry gamer and then there's this guy who I honestly wouldn't be surprised to find out they were actually crying while they were typing it because it had that distraught rambling quality to it that tends to happen when you're that upset. Like, why is he even so angry? It's random queue arena PRACTICE. PRACTICE. Winning and losing in random arenas is literally inconsequential because there's no rank, no level, and 9/10 times you get the same reward for losing as you would for winning, and when you DO get more for winning it's so inconsequential it may as well not even have happened. He's acting like i single-handedly brought him from Diamond to Wood. This is all ignoring the fact that the opposing team was an exact mechanical hard counter to our 2 classes, and that they were in the same guild together so they more than likely had some kind of communication or at LEAST some personal compatibility.

Protip: avoid choking on hot oily food more than you should avoid choking. It's a bitch to cough that oil back out of your esophagus.

WoW. Auction house manipulation is fun. And surprisingly easy if you know what to look for. Just today I made 60k gold by buying out bind on equips that were listed really low for their item levels and reselling them higher.

Overwatch. Only got in one game of quick play before my internet took a dive. It's like my isp noticed I finally got my competitive placement and decided I'd had enough gaming for the month. How are these criminals even still allowed to operate? One day of proper internet usage then outages and instability for the remaining 29...

Finishing up playing Overwatch. Was doing my placement matches for competitive and ranked Diamond right out the gate at 3202. Like I don't consider myself that good at the game so this feels really good. Probably not gonna maintain that rank knowing me. Edit: Competitive at this rank is actually fun. Like, the games are pretty balanced, give or take the few instances where you get the lone wolves that refuse to take responsibility for their actions and cost you the game, but other than that it's really fun.

I'm very familiar with this feeling. It's always something you'd never think to look at either which makes them that much more frustrating. My suggestion is to put debug messages at every step of the code to figure out where it stops working just to get a general idea of where to start my search for the culprit.

Getting a new cheap laptop school ready. The whole thing was like 280 dollars and doesn't even have a graphics card. All I need it for is note taking, file storage, and programming compilers such as Bloodshed and Visual Studio.

Unfortunately there's not much that can be done other than to rest and wait for it to go away on it's own. Drinking a lot of water is said to help avoid it but doesn't seem to do much while it's there. Mostly it's just laying in bed and trying to find the perfect angle to keep my head at where the spinning stops and laying there for hours.

Trying to stay awake long enough to eat dinner. Funny how the one time I actually can get sleep I have to fight it off.

Surprise! Don't mind me just saving that gif several times so I never lose it.

Listening to 90's punk rock while i get ready for school. I don't know why I chose that genre in particular I just really wanted to listen to some Offspring.

WoW. While I'm perfectly content with the idea of endgame gearing being a slow process I would much rather prefer it not be because the RNG gods hate me. All day running heroic dungeons and stalking world quests and I landed an impressive 7 useless trinkets, 3 copies of the same belt, a shoulder piece significantly worse than the one I had, and a pair of pants. At least the pants were an upgrade... Seriously game. Enough with the trinkets I only needed 2

About to fire up WoW. Wanna do some of that PvP.

Dizzy and sick. Apparently I have a mild case of Miniere's Disease which causes me to get periods of intense dizziness and nausea. I used to get it much worse when I was in high school but even now it still sucks. The current episode is wearing off enough to function but my vision is still slightly swimming and I constantly feel sick. Guess I should be thankful it's mild enough that episodes only last 2 days at most since in some cases it can go on for weeks.

I mean I can go to the edit but I can do that anyways so I may not be the most accurate text subject.

WoW. Had a really fun run through a heroic dungeon. One of the new dungeons has an oddly complicated final boss that's three stages. Stage 1 is a simple damage race. In stage 2 the boss becomes invincible while these walls of advancing spirits cross the room and knock you off the edge if they hit you enough. Stage 3 is a combination of the 2. Well the advancing spirits can only be seen when in the light of an orb only 1 person can carry. None of us really knew the fight so we kept dying. In the end it was me who noticed how all the mechanics worked(Most importantly that the advancing spirit wall always had 1 opening and if you looked where they spawned you got a brief second to see where the split was before they faded.) and ended up coaching the rest on what to do in each phase and we won. Feels good man. Most fun I've had in a group since random group finder was implemented. tl;dr Legion bringing back the good times wewt.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Forgive and Forget?
Blightmare replied to ArtisticLove's topic in Gaming in general
Something had to break the dam. And I think there being worse examples is not really an excuse to just turn a blind eye to something. Also this isn't a reaction that suddenly popped up over night. Last year Killing Floor 2 decided to put an ingame shop into the game while it was still in beta and it lost almost 20% of it's rating due to vengeful vote-bombing on steam and hasn't recovered it since. People hate microtransactions and the bigger the IP the bigger the outcry, which is what we're seeing here. -
t7ytZ4LFcD8 This was an interesting thing to wake up to in my "recently uploaded" box.

I played around with it a little bit to see what I could do and I think I understand how it works and how I could use it but it's still so situational that I can only think of maybe 1 or 2 applications for it in the game I'm working on. Like for my item and inventory set up I have a generic item script and specialized item scripts (one for gun, one for ammo, etc.) Currently I have a lot of information being thrown back and for between the 2 and what I COULD be doing is have all the specialized scripts inherit the generic item script and use that to help with pickups, drops, and contextual actions instead of this obnoxious game of hot potato with information I'm currently doing. Maybe. I could also be missing something important and waste a lot of time. Such is the life of a programmer. OT: currently fiddling around with an idea I had for an inventory setup. Works pretty well so far on a small scale, now to try it out for real. And maybe streamline my variable names a little. Doesn't matter if I typed it, "item.item" is confusing.

Researching Inheritance in programming and how it can be used in video games and the overall message I'm getting is "I don't know, fuck." Like for every "it's important and you should use it" there's a "It's easy to mess this up especially if you don't know what you're doing don't worry about it it isn't important"

WoW Decided to try some random queue 2's arena. Got paired with a retribution paladin (I'm unholy death knight) and we must have been the most compatible team on the planet because we went 11 games straight without a single loss. Had to friend him so we can do that again sometime.

That and the particular argument I was viewing had "I am a woman" said about 30 different times.

Somehow I feel this isn't helping Helio find titles so I'm gonna go ahead and throw out a suggestion: Dying Light. Like the world isn't particularly large but it's very detailed with a lot to see and explore. Exploration is mostly tied to finding stuff to use but there is some environmental story telling at play and no fast travel (since I know you don't like that) meaning you have to run/parkour everywhere. I've put a lot of time into Dying Light and still ahven't seen everything. I know of some stuff I'd like to find on my own but haven't yet so it's got potential.

I think she's talking about biological sex not the act of sex. Still adds 0 validity to her claims either way.

Knowing full well what I was going to find I decided to look up that user. I found more than I expected. This person is the shining mascot of why I have a word blacklist addon for tumblr to make that site tolerable. They do EVERYTHING. Overusing big words made up by their movement to add weight to their argument and feign intelligence, accuse people of being those made up words even if the made up word wasn't made to mean what they're accusing the person of being simply for not being in full agreement with them, misusing existing words to add severity, passion over fact, complete and total dismissal of experts who have put much more time and energy and effort into their respective fields because what they've learned and uncovered is contradictory to their factless, angry "I thought about it real hard in the shower" arguments. These people are literally impossible to argue with because they've managed to convince themselves so much that they're right and the entirety of the world is wrong that I'm not even sure god could descend from the heavens and say "look dude, you're wrong" and still manage to change their mind.
