  1. And this week on "Tumblr Why" "Well it only takes once to learn that play-doh tastes like Neptune’s salty bunghole."
  2. Calm your damn tempers, take it to the debates forum, and for the love of god, stop insulting each other. I saw too much saltiness at QUICK glances to even want to bother trying to read anything you guys are saying right now, let alone consider it and think of a response. If you can't make a point with out insulting them, it's not a point you should try to make at all. For the forum rules being only 5 entries long and not even half a screen in height it sure does get ignored a lot. especially entries 1 and 2. You know, "1. Try not to be a jerk. Maybe I've been working on Civil Protection too long, but I'd prefer to see some civil discussion here. This is intentionally vague, like most constitutions. It's a nice blanket rule to catch anything not specified." and "2. Don't insult people unless it's obviously a joke. While this is a rather radical concept for the internet, I don't see much good coming out personal insults towards anyone here. This doesn't mean you can't attack another person's concepts, statements, and arguments, but if you're reverting to outright insults, it really casts doubt on whatever point it is you're trying to make and is unlikely to contribute anything productive."
  3. Audiosurf 2
  4. Cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon.
  5. Silently lamenting all the online stories that could have been really touching, exciting, and/or well written but fell victim to smut because the authors couldn't see past their crotch. And also reading the ones that are well written. Because I ran out of books on my shelf. Never thought that would happen.
  6. Far Cry 3. The fourth is out so I may as well actually beat the 3rd one finally.
  7. I like to consider these .5's as alternate endings. I was actually waiting for that teleport sound at the end. Not usual things go THAT right for him.
  8. Happy Birthday, welcome to the old peoples club!
  9. That easter egg. Didn't spot til I gave up. O-o
  10. I eat the talking bees because I'm George Washington Christ.
  11. I want a life beyond emulation.
  12. My life is more than information.
  13. This is not how I should be.
  14. Castle Crashers.
  15. When it comes to UI it's best these in mind: 1. Keep it simple. UI's that are too busy and complex are major turn offs and can ruin an otherwise good game. Seeing your example image I can tell that's not a problem, but I figured I'd say this anyways for good measure. 2. Don't take up too much space. The amount of space you can get away with using varies depending on the game and platform but either way you should keep the game view itself as majority of the screen. 3. Don't leave empty space. In the case of boxed in UI's like yours, like BTG was saying you want to make sure that it's using all that space. 4. Have it frame the game. This is easiest on the eyes as it helps keep the UI from feeling lopsided or awkward. On to what you have, I think what you have now is fine, but like BTG said you're gonna want to make sure you fill in a lot of that sidebar space if you're going to keep it that large. I really think there needs to be a more clear indication of how the health works. Something that at quick glance the player can tell it's the health bar without needing it spelled out in a tutorial or something. The dragon idea is creative but you're gonna need to make it obvious his scales are the health level. One suggestion for the mana too would have it wrap around the dragon, like say the stars start at the head and travel down the back above the spines, etc. It's all up to you in the end, this is just something you could consider.
  16. 8 bits are enough for me.
  17. I believe the pitch for that game went somewhere along the lines of: "So is it going to be a stealth game? Action? Horror?" "Yes."
  18. Goodness. A lot of titles I love on there lol. Awkward. OT: To put it bluntly, Five Nights at Freddy's. Now, to clarify, I don't really hate the game as I think the concept is cool and it's a fresh new idea for the horror genre, but to me it's too stressful. Like WAY too stressful. I deal with that enough in real life just trying to keep myself from making my final quarter in college the first quarter where I fail a class and the last thing I need right now is to have a video game be the thing that finally pushes me into ulcer levels.
  19. Excuse me while I whip this out.
  20. I'd be all over this but I already have a guild wars 2 account I don't use because all my friends quit (that and the 4 day patch download last I tried to play is also a turnoff.) I could maybe give it a shot again if anyone would be willing. This is, of course, starting next year after I graduate. no time right now.
  21. Emergency - Pegboard Nerds
  22. Even poor drawings of me look better than I do.
  23. After watching episode 4-13, I now can't help but picture rarity is like Moxxi from borderlands except she's high class playing a southerner and not making sexual innuendo at every opportunity. MGekQJ-IR5g Edit: Episode 14; what the fuck O_o
  24. 479 pages later and only now we start losing things to talk about? I'd say it's lasted a lot longer than just about every subject based thread I've ever seen. Guess I'll just go back to watching more ponies. Last thing I want to do this moment is focus on anything game design related. Is this what "burnt out" feels like?
