huh? mine works at "superspeed 5", which is about 3,5x lightspeed. Maybe you got a very outdated teleporter if it only works at lightspeed? Seriously, since teleporters like in half life don't exist yet you cant really say how they work. And as Descriptor explained, Xen is a borderworld betweet the dimensions/universes. Maybe it isn't far away but right here, just in a different (border) dimension.

No, he doesnt No offense Ross, but I didn't really understand the first word (zeigen = show) at first (I had to read the subtitles^^). But the rest was pretty good (better then the german of some people who live here ) and I must admit that german ist probably a lot harder to speak/lern than english. Oh and keeping in mind that Freeman learned german in Austria it wasn't THAT bad...these guys down there have a very strange accent :D (And now I hope you Americans and Englishmen won't tear me apart because my english isn't perfect either )

What I find a little irritating is that in one moment Freeman has no idea where he is (because he's in the middle of the dessert and he says that he "wanna get back to the lab") and in the next moment he obviously knows that he is at black mesa ("with our budget [...]", "[...] at this company.")

I dont think we've seen the whole Xen world/universe.... A combine who gets teleported to Black Mesa (= "the middle of the dessert...") wouldn't see any water, too. But this obviously doesnt mean that there is no water on earth

And that's why no one's complaining when Ross takes his time to make the videos. But it just sucks when the videos are completed and machinima just doesnt release them...

Hi. Hier meine Übersetzung von Episode 3. Wenn ihr Fehler findet oder Verbesserungsvorschläge habt immer raus damit. 100% zufrieden bin ich auch nicht mit allen Stellen, aber oft ist es einfach schwer eine gute/richtige deutsche Übersetzung zu finden ohne sich zu sehr vom Original zu entfernen. Teilweise habe ich mich bei dem was die Wissenschaftler sagen auch an Valves Übersetzung orientiert wenn das besser gepasst hat als das Original direkt zu übersetzen.

Über ein paar dieser Stellen hatte ich auch schon nachgedacht. Hab sie dann aber als grenzwertig noch durchgehen lassen. Mit den Korrekturen von Firefox hört es sich aber doch besser an, also ich würde die so übernehmen Bis auf: Darauf beziehst du dich mit dem Sie/Du, oder? Das erste "Sie" ist aber ein "they", von daher passt das schon. Man könnte trotzdem überlegen überall "Sie" zu verwenden, immerhin spricht die Wache Gordon auch mit "Mr. Freeman" an und so gut werden die beiden sich nicht kennen als das sie sich Du-zen. Um das ganze noch etwas deutlicher zu machen könnte man "Sie haben mir gesagt ich soll..." auch ändern in "Mir wurde gesagt ich soll...". Das ist meiner Meinung nach noch nicht zu weit vom Original entfernt. Und was mir gerade noch eingefallen ist: "Schutzanzug" klingt besser, so wird er auch in der deutschen Version genannt (zumindest in HL2, bei HL1 weis ichs gerade nicht).

I was just wondering...when do you think Freeman will notice that the G-Man isn't just a normal guy? He saw him 4 times so far (or even more?) and at some point he should realize that its the same guy all the time. Especially because the G-Man seems to be the only person with a blue suit in Black Mesa. As for the G-Man's offer: What tnt90 said was my first thought, too. I think Freeman could refuse the offer at first and fight the aliens for some time (Ross uses cheats at other points, why not there?). But after some time he could say something like: "Argh fuck this, I don't wanna be in crazyland anymore... OK FUCKER I take your stupid job, just get me out of here!" ... ... "Oh and just for the record: I WOULD win this battle, I just don't want to! I'm not even getting paid for killing all these aliens..."

mh I dont think so... plus that wouldnt add any realism since morphine needs ~20min to take effect. It's the same thing with the adrenalin shots in Left 4 Dead 2. In a situation where you are running away from a horde of zombies your body is already filled with adrenalin, so another synthetic adrenalin shot would rather kill you

I thought Freeman would say something about the crossbow he found. But maybe he was just too busy killing the shark btw, nice coughing when Freeman gets out of the water. Maybe it's because Ross doesn't do all the sound editing. Sound editing 01 could be where Ross cuts all the recorded stuff and puts it together with the video. And then sound editing 02 is volume adjustemt, additional soundeffects etc., which is done by somebody else.

Ich finde auch man sollte so nah wie möglich am Original bleiben, außer wenn es halt nicht anders geht. Das stört mich teilweise auch bei englischen Serien wo ich dann später die deutsche Version sehe und der Text teilweise ganz anders ist (wobei da sicher noch andere Faktoren eine Rolle spielen, wie Lippensynchronität. Aber das ist hier ja kein Problem)
