  1. Same... Too many forums have the bug that won't reset the "New Post" icon if you don't.
  2. How bout...... Steve?
  3. I'm putting that in my moderator sig on the hack site I'm from.
  4. Another game... Supposed to come out around the same time as DX:HR.
  5. Silpheed [Vertical scrolling arcade shooter] Silpheed is the name of the spacecraft that the player controls. Like many shooter games, the story involves using the Silpheed as Earth's last effort to save itself from destruction by a powerful enemy invasion. Was my favorite game back before Win95. Very fun, hard, and you actually get to choose your weapon loadout between levels.
  6. Try the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game. Text-based adventure FTW!
  7. Just read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... It tells you the truth about when and how the world ends.
  8. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=+38%C2%B016'48.96%22N,+104%C2%B034'9.42%22W&aq=&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=35.768112,86.572266&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16 That's where I'm at... That's where I'm from... Small town called Vermillion, South Dakota. Gets down to -40 degrees F without windchill every winter, and sometimes hits down to -70 without WC. Interestingly enough, it gets up over 100F in the summer, with occasional hits at 120, and usually with 80% or higher humidity. Beat that for weather extremes!
  9. Those are some of my favorites as well. The Lazarus Long, and subsequent novels are very good. Try The Moon is a Harsh Mistress... One of Heinlein's best IMO. Try some of the Ben Bova books, and maybe Marion Zimmer Bradley. I'm also a fan of the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey. Tom Clancy, and Clive Cussler are on my list too. Have to list the Hitchhiker's Guide... Can't ever go anywhere without it... lol
  10. First game... I'll list them based on the different consoles/computer models. *CONSOLES* Atari: Pong, and shortly thereafter, DigDug. Channel F (Sears ripoff of the Atari): Tank Battle NES: Super Mario Bros. SNES: Super Mario Bros. 3. Sega: Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2. Sega Genesis: Was some sort of space shooter, bad GFX, but fun. Can't remember the name... Sega Dreamcast: Can't remember the name, but was like the Super Smash Bros for Final Fantasy... N64: Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. PS1: Looked like FF8, but the story didn't match, and it had better GFX. [EDIT] Just found out the name of it: Legend of Dragoon. PS2: Can't remember... It was that memorable of an experience. PS3: Reference the PS2 entry. Xbox: Need for Speed: Underground, Halo. Xbox 360: Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. *COMPUTERS* Apple IIC: Artillery Battle. Apple IIE: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. PC (80186): Solitare. PC: (80286): A basic program my Dad made, Star Trek based, extremely fun and complex. (even by today's standards) Also did Silpheed. PC (80386): Monster Truck Madness 2. PC (80486): Hellbender. PC (200MHz-750MHz processor speed): Command & Conquer. (the original, expansion, and Red Alert with it's expansions) PC (751MHz-1.4GHz processor speed): Doom 3, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. PC (Modern, Multi-core processors): Crysis, Half-life 2, World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2142, Star Wars: Empire At War, and Civilization 4. (all on first day, total game time: 3 hours) (*No, I did not ever have a C64, though I've always wanted one... I've done emulators of it though, but that doesn't qualify for this IMO.*)
  11. Right now, I'm trying to max out one character on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I also frequent the Command & Conquer stockpile I have, as well as World of Warcraft.
  12. Have to say that Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for the N64 was pretty obscure. It got overshadowed by Episode 1 Racer, and required the additional module thingy to run, hence it's lack of popularity. Was the most fun I've ever had in any Star Wars game though.
  13. The new Medal of Honor game (2010) would probly make a good movie... So would the Battlefield: Bad Company storyline. Would be impossible to do, but I also think something like a World of Warcraft movie would be cool. Of course, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past would be totally awesome in movie form.
  14. + rep Also Starcraft 2 Protoss or Zerg campaigns. There was another one, but I can't remember the name... Oh well.
  15. Can't give you a solid top 5, since the longer I think about it, the more games I have to try and shift around to fit. Choosing 5 titles from almost 22 years of gaming on early platforms and PCs is impossible. I can give you some of my favorites off the top of my head though... *Console Games* Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64) Super Mario Bros 3 (SNES) Super Mario World (SNES) Need for Speed: Underground (Xbox) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles In Time (SNES) Legend of Dragoon (PS1) *PC Games* Battlefield: 2142 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Half-life: Source Half-life 2 (not the episodes, pre-EP1 upgrade patch) Command & Conquer series (excluding Red Alert 2 and C&C4) The entire Medal of Honor series World of Warcraft Assassin's Creed series Deus Ex series Starcraft series Star Wars: Empire at War World In Conflict Civilization 2, 3, and 4 Tropico series Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Doom series (try Doom 3 on Nightmare, at midnight, lights off, and turn up the volume... Hehe...) Those are just off the top of my head... Anyone who thinks Macs are better than PCs is either ignorant (usually by choice) or using more than one mouse button is just too complicated for them.
  16. So true. The only videos like that that I watch are dedicated to "walkthroughs", and are always done silent.
  17. I'll get it when it's out. No point in worrying about it though. Hope there'll be a Black Mesa Source modding community that'll make mods for the mod... lol I bet it'll get put up on Steam after release.
  18. Played it regular for a month or two, then got hacks for it because you couldn't get above a 0.2 KDR without them at the time... Interesting thing is, I'm now a moderator at the site I got the hacks from, and haven't played CA for 2 years... lol
  19. I'd buy a Freeman's Mind shirt... CP too, but I'd take FM over that for a T-Shirt. Maybe a pic of the MP5, and the quote "Now I can solve up to 800 problems per minute."
  20. Agree x googleplex. Also, would be nice to multi-quote. (if you need an example of it, I can provide one)
  21. Right below the banner, and the 5 buttons (Help, Members, Search, UCP, PMs) is the forum section list... It's kind of like the address bar you have when you're browsing the folders on your hard drive. Just click the root sections to go back to that section. I personally love having the banner go to the main site, makes more sense to me than having a button for it on the bar beneath it.
  22. How bout from Episode 1: Friday... "That's right, that metal helmet of yours conducts electricity pretty good doesn't it."
  23. Have to say... "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" And the "Hooga-saka, hooga-saka, hoo... Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" from 10.5.
