3019 - That cucumber-related scandalous act is now considered perfectly normal, and even rude to not perform for your guests if requested.

Trying to settle my anxiety of having to wait until tomorrow for my motherboard to arrive. (at least ASRock shelled out for 3-day shipping after having the thing for a week)

Adobe is planning end-of-life Flash
BTGBullseye replied to JohnRDVSMarston's topic in Gaming in general
Last time I checked, that was available for all major versions up to Flash 20.0. -
3017 - I am the only person left not working for either company, and they're fighting over my "impartial" vote for who gets to rule for the next 200 years.

Fancy post, but it's like Batman, and is sleeping during the day.

Damn... I missed out on the spam fun...

3015 - The year I finally get my motherboard back from the manufacturer...

So they become the threat themselves by doing a Man-in-the-Middle attack on encrypted connections that can't be interfered with without the user knowing it's been intercepted... What morons.

Honestly, a bit of both. While we definitely can do better, there are way too many in power that will never allow anyone to do better, and they can't be removed from power without at least the real threat of lethal force. Also, there's no guarantee that you can keep others like them out of power for any length of time.

That happens a LOT too. Especially from anyone not a phsycotherapist/psychiatrist/psychologist of some kind. -
True, but I'd pay for it too as soon as I had the money, and it was in my price range...

I've literally tried all those do-it-yourself things to try and combat depression... At best it does nothing, usually it just makes things worse. As for the medication part, mental health services in this country are horrible. First off, at minimum it's a year just to get an appointment with someone who can diagnose and prescribe. Then you have to get lucky with the meds that help. Then you have to convince employers that it's not going to interfere with your job. (NOT easy, let me tell you... WAY too many horror stories... They don't want to employ someone who could suddenly disappear either by dying, or just in a depressive episode, both making their company look bad) Then you have to get lucky with NOT having any side effects of the meds. (which is unlikely for me, because I'm weird, as a family trait) In short, I see no reason to put faith in the hell that is modern mental health services and medications in this country. -
Unfortunately, it'll still require a Microsoft account, even for the singleplayer only content on Steam. I'd rather pirate it at that point.

The question I keep coming back to is: What solution is there that isn't going to absolutely ruin my life? Medication will take a MINIMUM of a year to get, and it will not allow me to have any ups... (I'd rather suffer the downs and have some ups than have neither) I'm already in therapy for the anxiety and depression, which are directly linked each other, and there is nothing more I can do so far for either at this time. It already took 6 months just to get called to see if I was still interested in therapy because there was finally an opening... -

Indeed, partly because I'm trying to figure out what to do about them. If I focus too hard on what I want to do, it can prevent me from finding something that will actually help. -
If it's each individual game separate, that $25 is for ALL of them together, so divide it evenly among the titles sold, and that's what I'm willing to pay.
-
What I'm seeing is a lot of "disagree" or "strongly disagree" with an overwhelming flood of "I don't want to hit the disagree button".
-
Who isn't? I just hope they aren't gonna try and sell it for $60, since I won't pay over $25 for it.

I have bad teeth. (like very bad, 3 currently broken, 4 removed, and about a dozen cavities) I have crippling social anxiety. I have depression. I'm overweight. I'm addicted to my computer, partly because it's the only stress reliever that actually works for me. I'm lonely, and don't feel like any girl would ever take a second look at me because of the previous 5 lines. There's my 6 main problems. (I have no issue sharing, as you can see) -
Games that you are happy made it into the Game List

I dunno how BF2 did it, but in BF2142 you were both a soldier and the commander. You issued orders on the minimap, and called down superweapons/crate drops. Squad leaders just issued orders like is done in Planetside 2, and requested the superweapons and crate drops with an icon on the minimap. While it was very well done, (and if the commander was competent, extremely effective) it wasn't really an RTS style interface. -
