I don't see how Earthsiege could be sued over anything, as they had entirely unique HERC designs so that they couldn't be sued back when the original Mechwarrior game was their only competition...

It's sad that most of the good IPs ended up in the hands of companies that make such poor decisions with them. Kinda like the Earthsiege/Cyberstorm/Tribes IP being exclusive to Hi-Rez Studios, but they've never touched on the Earthsiege or Cyberstorm side of it. (and kinda messed up the Tribes side too)

Yup. Stellaris is pretty cool. It's unfortunate that the Lithoids pack is so expensive, and still a bit buggy.

First, have a REALLY sensitive inner ear, as in "these avionics are off by 0.01°, I can feel it" level of sensitivity.

And if it can't be used or seen by anyone for 200 years, there's no point. That is what the lobbyists will argue, and what everyone will agree with. It's either throw away code, or get past the lobbyists that are pushing for more and more rights for the legal monopoly crowd.
