What's even more crazy is that my dad told me that the bear threw the rock five times before the window cracked. And yet, it still only shattered 1 of the 5 layers... (in other words, the bear cost the zoo a lot of money, and that's about it) Very nice.

I'll stay here at my normal level... The dog that pisses on the corn.

Same. However, for animals, I think that there's no 'respect' that needs to be shown... It's an animal... It's dead...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981 (ASUS Z87 motherboard for $100) For brands, I'd say to stick to ASUS and Gigabyte. (they also produce some of the best boards there are for gaming) Stay away from ASRock and Biostar! I'd also recommend going at least to DDR3 1866, as there is no price difference, and you'll usually get a noticeable increase in framerate. (up to 10 FPS in some games that would otherwise be going under 45 FPS) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104461 (HyperX DDR3 1866 4x4GB for $85) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233278 (Corsair DDR3 1866 4x4GB for $89) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231617 (G.SKILL low latency DDR3 2133 4x4GB for $95) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231671 (G.SKILL DDR3 2400 4x4GB for $95) *my recommendation for you* http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233778 (Corsair DDR3 2400 4x4GB for $95) Finally, DO NOT GET THE 970!!! Get 960's, or a 980, but don't even consider the 970. (there is a MAJOR flaw in the memory design that causes a drop to 5-10 FPS in certain games that should be going at 60+ FPS) http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007709%204814%20600358543%20600007787%20600565061%20600559642%20600536050%20600374090%20600007797%20600537575%208000 (here's a decent list, stick to ASUS, EVGA, and Gigabyte for the best results IMO)

Gimmicks I like: 1. Free DLC. (essentially a dev-originated mod for the game, completely free) 2. On MMO games designed for multiple characters per account, having account-wide unlocks for special items. (so you can have the same item on all characters, or share it between characters) 3. Anything free. (it could be a free costume, or maybe some special weapon, but free is always good) Gimmicks I dislike: 1. Clothing items/recolors that cost real life money, or are extremely difficult to get. 2. Facebook integration. (or any other social media integration for that matter) 3. Profanity filters that can't be disabled. 4. In-game bonuses for using a specific launcher for the game, or for liking them on Facebook, or anything like that. 5. In MMOs designed for multiple characters per account, making a special or paid-for item a character-specific unlock. (e.g. in Star Trek Online, the Lobi Store) Gimmicks I loathe: 1. P2W. (short for "Pay to Win") This happens a LOT in free to play games. If you can't get the best items (or sometimes even just less crappy items) in the game in a reasonable time without paying a cent, the game falls into this category. 2. Paid DLC to get a single weapon or item, the only difference is the skin. 3. "Internet connection required" for single player games. (or even MP games that have ANY SP only content) 4. Massively overpriced game store items. ($5 is WAY too much for a barely decent gun, especially when it only lasts for a week) 5. Limited duration items. (only if they are that way just to get you to spend to get one that lasts longer) 6. "Game of the Year" or "Gold Edition" type games that include expansions that have a completely invalid code/code type for unlocking them, and the company refuses to give a valid copy. (I am glaring at my Medal of Honor anthology right now, because I STILL can't install a non-pirated copy of Allied Assault: Spearhead, Allied Assault: Breakthrough, or Pacific Assault)

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: FOLLOW-UP EPISODE #1
BTGBullseye replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
Excellent video. On piracy: If you already own the game, it isn't piracy. (this is in the law) If it's Abandonware, (the game is not being supported by the company that owns the rights to the game) it isn't piracy. (this also is in the law) If you can't afford it right now, but plan on purchasing at a later date, I'd say go ahead and pirate. If the game is overpriced, but you want to buy it, I'd say to pirate it until the price drops. (and it will) If you are unsure if it is a game worth purchasing, pirate it to check. (I do this frequently, even if I have the money to buy) If you never intend to purchase at any price, then there is no revenue lost, and I say pirate it. (I do this with very few games) If you loathe being treated like a criminal because you legally bought a game, pirate the game instead... There's no DRM in pirated games, and the asshole DRM devs should die a horrible death. (this excludes the way Steam and a very few others do it, as they do their best to minimise the impact of their DRM) If you have the money, and would otherwise purchase it, but won't because piracy is free... Every pirate on the planet hates you. You should be ashamed of yourself. You selfish bastard. (I could go on, but I won't) -

Just look it up... Intel tried to convince Apple to move to CISC architecture, but Apple refused. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh#1990.E2.80.9398:_Decline_and_transition_to_PowerPC FYI, CISC is the standard Intel and AMD processor architecture, and RISC is used for modern ARM-based processors. CISC is MUCH better and faster at complex equations and processing than RISC. (RISC doesn't even have a function for 'divide' in most implementations!)

Modding Fallout NV...

Fallout New Vegas... Trying to get several mods to work together properly, and not keep giving me glitches. (FPS lags, and so forth)

Early 90's, when Apple decided to run themselves into the ground by sticking to RISC processors when CISC was superior.

Only injury I've ever went to a doctor for was a work injury... A full ice cart (about 600lbs) rammed the back of my heel, and I couldn't walk on it for a few days. Turned out it just hit right on the edge of the tendon just above where it attaches to the bone. Only sicknesses I've gone to a doctor for were when I had mono, and when I got an ear infection. Both passed normally , and with no permanent damage. I have never had a broken bone in my life, and not for lack of trying. All scrapes, cuts, burns, other illnesses, etc. were all treated at home with basic first aid, and farmer's intuition. (my parents both grew up on farms, and I sort of did as well)
