I think there were a few, but the media ignores them so thoroughly that they can't do anything worthwhile. They're not suicide cults, they're political parties. You know, those things that are made exclusively to make rich people richer.

I don't hate the art, I hate the massively over the top anti-realistic BS they pull... Like having a "hero" that doesn't want to save the world in the most awesome way possible because their dad was mean to them 16 years ago once. Or a kid with no super strength swinging a supposedly mundane sword twice as long as they are tall, and it not being an absurdly unwieldy item, and acting like it weighed nothing. In short, it's not the cartoon I have issue with, it's the poor storytelling quality that everyone just blindly accepts. I've actually seen better storytelling quality in hentai than I have in most of the popular animes. (at least they link supernatural things to supernatural abilities, not just to nothing whatsoever)
