Merry Christmas, folks! civil_protection_christmas_episode_outtake_en.srt
-
I personally celebrate Christmas and I'm an atheist. Have a merry Christmas, those that do celebrate it. Happy Hanukkah to others, happy Kwanzaa to others, io Saturnalia to others, Happy Festivus to others, and for everyone else, have a great holiday season or great day! Happy Holidays from your friendly neighborhood subtitler!

With regards to Nihilanth's voice in the subtitles, I made an executive decision to not reference it in any of the current episodes. The reason I chose this is because, if Ross doesn't reference it at any time through the episode, I do not add it to the subtitles. It is why the "monkey" sounds in Episode 66 where referenced but not Nihilanth's voice. It's why the "fucking chittering noises" were referenced in Episode 33. It's why I referenced the "yowling noises" in Episode 25. Unless it's something that Freeman actively responds to in the episode, I generally don't subtitle it.

Not necessarily. It could be like the British use the term series for what in Americas is called a season. In 'murica, the term "series" relates to the entire show. The Simpsons series, 15th season, for example.

That's okay, Freeman. I'm not a barrel either. EDIT: Ross informed me of a very minor error in the subtitle file so I have re-uploaded it. Please use the new one. freeman_s_mind_episode_66_en.srt

Like an armor-piercing round to the head! Rise and shine, Mr. Scott. Rise and... shine. Not that I wish to imply that you have been sleeping onthejob. No one is more deserving of a rest, but all the effort in the world would have gone to waste if... well, let's just say that a break from Freeman's Mind is well deserved.

I think of the screaming and yelling as a complement to the cooler, more analytical side. Too much ruins the dinner, but I haven't seen that "too much" in this. Especially since going to Xen would make anyone go guano. It may be a day or two before I can get the subtitles for this out. I hope to have it out before Episode 66 is released. I'd work on it right now but I got like 2 hours sleep last night then worked all day. I'm zonked out. Have patience, folks.

Go into Kleiner's lab in Red Letter Day, the entire scene is drowned out by loud techno music or Pewdiepie's screaming (Dammit, Kleiner!). Later, when you return to the lab after Nova Prospekt, Kleiner's playing dubstep.

I guess I'm the only one here that actually found the cave right away and then took the unholy dumbwaiter to the rotating platforms.

From my reading of the plot (I haven't seen it because I don't really like DS9--too actiony for Star Trek, IMHO), it seems that Garak was claustrophobic, not cleithrophobic. In that work area, he could get in and out of it, from what I can tell. But maybe I missed something.

See, it's not tight spaces that's a problem for me, as long as I know I have an escape if I need to. It's being trapped there and not at all able to escape.

Subs up! EDIT: I'd have to say my favorite part in this episode is entering the cave and shooting the vortigaunt as it was charging up, and Gordon says, "Shut up." I do that a lot in my real life. Not shooting vortigaunts, but if something is making noise and I don't want it to make noise, when I turn it off (such as my stove fan), I say, "Shut up" to it almost identically to how Ross said it here. Brought a big laugh to me the first time I heard it.

Somewhere like a cave? Anywhere that is enclosed to such an extent that I cannot move or call for help. There is a scene in the movie Jumanji that scared the Dickens out of me. After they release the stampede, an elephant walks on a car, crushing it. There is a person inside the car and the car is being crushed around him. After the stampede leaves, the person is trapped in their crushed car, unable to move or leave. I was shaking like a leaf at the visuals.

I have a combination of taphophobia and cleithrophobia. Really, they're a combination of the same thing. I have a fear that I'll get stuck in a small place where I can't get out and I can't move and I can't call for help. It's not claustrophobia because I'm fine in small enclosed areas. It's just where I know that I wouldn't be able to easily exit that frightens the bejeezus out of me.
