I don't think there was ever a rule that you're supposed to mention him by name, but it was just how he was referenced in day-to-day dialog at Black Mesa. Alyx calls him "your old administrator" in the upcoming meeting. I'm sure she got that title from her father. Maybe after the Black Mesa incident, Eli used the term "administrator" in a sardonic and sarcastic way around Alyx. During the events of Half-Life 1, it was just 'what you did'.

Bad News: Each of them are the size of the titans from Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin), and smell terrible. Plus, they hate us. Good News: There's an episode of Freeman's Mind 2 out!

While working on the subtitles for Episode 1 of Freeman's Mind 2, I couldn't stop laughing at "Your breath smells like paint."

I dunno. I always took that text to mean the G-Man and his ehhhhhhhmployers. Yep. Breen was the administrator of Black Mesa, but the sponsor, in my opinion, was not Breen.

Well, remember in Episode 34 of Freeman's Mind, the best doctor in the world got the crap kicked out of him by the HECU and thrown into the trash compactor. When Freeman woke up in Episode 35, he had amnesia. It's entirely possible that Freeman would forget Barney but not Kleiner. After all, Barney was simply a coworker, even if they were close enough to share beers with. Kleiner was Freeman's mentor and they had a friendship together back at MIT. Kleiner, a well-respected scientist and kinda-celebrity (his photo appearing on the cover of Popular Scientist) is the one that got Freeman the job at Black Mesa. Kleiner was a lot closer to Freeman than Barney was. As for Breen, it's possible that Freeman never saw a photo of Breen and never cared enough to look it up. Breen was the administrator, not Gordon's boss, per se. Alyx will ask if Freeman recognizes Breen, but Freeman doesn't say anything. I'm hoping there'll be something to fill that gap. I know that in my previous job, I couldn't tell you what the CEO looked like. I know what the CEO looks like in my current job because he's kind of a celebrity (I'll keep where I work private for now), but not in my previous jobs. I could pass them on the street and not recognize them.

So, I spent the last week or so being very sick and being very angry at being sick because I couldn't get anything done. Angry and sick is not a fun time, let me tell you. But, I'm on the mends now. So, I got that going for me. Which is nice.

I'm going to get the subtitles for this out as fast as I possibly can (hope to have it out sometime tomorrow) so I can input as much work as I can into helping Ross with The Movie!

It has been pretty much confirmed that J.J. Abrams is working with Valve to make at least two movies (one for Half-Life, the other for Portal). In this game, you give who you most want to star in various roles in each of the two movies. This is pretty open ended because you get to pick the roles and, if you'd like, explain why you think they'd be perfect for the roles, but that's not necessary. This is not a thread to discuss the wisdom of making said movies, or for giving your input on the movies in general. It is only for whom you would cast in the roles. Keep in mind the ages of the actors. Don't cast Hugh Laurie as Gordon Freeman because Freeman is 27 years old and Laurie is 57. Laurie would be great, but he's too old to play the character. Also, please don't cast Ross Scott in the role of Freeman. He'd have to cut his glorious hair and that's not going to happen! Discussion of the actors/actresses is fine, but let's keep this friendly.
