Vorts can fire lightnings,if a headcrab ever tried to jump on a vortigaunt head they would be easily dispatched. Gonome was supposed to be a mutation form between the regular zombie and the "big momma" AKA Gonarch,since we dont see either gonomes or Gonarchs on HL2 it is believable that certain conditions must be fulfilled for a headcrab to evolve into Gonarch;most likely those conditions are blocked by the suppresion device on HL2 as a side-effect or some other outdoor Earth element,since we only see gonomes on Black Mesa's underground.

So...it looks like most of Ross "donators" are trying to BUY their way into internet fame and/or Ross life .Anyway, changing your videos or hiring voice actors based on the fact they donated would represent some of the worst things of our society and it would be just an extension of bribery.Either give them a "donators" group or change the color of their usernames or do nothing.

Besides,since Freeman actually keep his weapons down when not using them;what can you lift and aim faster,a small pistol or a submachine gun? That and the fact that the shotgun and the submachine gun are terrible long range weapons, and since he is not using the magnum yet,the pistol becomes way more useful
