IF IM NOT WRONG,they were trying to do the same thing Magnusson did in ep2. Even through it wasnt a giant portal,i guess the principle is the same,the only difference is that they were trying to close the portal from our side. but i do think the guard says they did want you to launch that rocket so they could stop the alien invasion with science,but im not sure. But since Freeman wasnt actually paying attention i guess it doesnt really matter,anyway,NO ONE CAN RESIST THE TEMPTATION OF A BIG RED BUTTON.

I mean Freeman most likely will take 1 episode to realize he have to destroy the crystals,and that baby have a nasty ammount of HP (of course Ross can edit the video and cheat so the fight gets shorter)

Freeman also have a blue suit... Really? When you see Freeman in the tram in HL: Blue Shift he wears a white lab coat like all the other scientists. And the blue poncho in his locker doesn't belong to him. May i remind you that not everything Ross says is Canon to the HL story? Since the blue poncho is inside Freeman locker,most likely it belongs to Freeman
