Completely unrelated, but what's happening with the DotA2 announcer pack you did? I remember you posted about Valve "flagging it", but not taking it down. Have they got around to giving you any information why it was flagged? It'd be a great way to make some money (stating the obvious here), and it seemed to have come out really well from the demo video.

If you managed to reach part eleven of a series before deciding it's garbage, it either can't be that bad or you have an incredibly high capacity for craptacular YouTube videos. I'm going with the second option, which is why i'd rather not look up who or what DSP actually is.

Just out of curiosity, do you play much DotA? By being experienced in the game (well, mildly at least <3), that Pyrion Flax has come up with lines other announcers (offical ones) have skipped over -- things that players understand best. Unique comments and stuff could be a great way of getting popularity. Either way, it sounds like a great idea, and is definitely something i'd vote in.

Woo! My stance on the ads is this: I hate ads too and I don't like having to subject people to them. But on the flipside, this will actually pay money and can help me pay rent. For now, the videos will appear on Youtube and Blip.tv, but in the future, ones on Youtube may be one episode behind. And I do intend to keep posting downloadable copies of the videos with a delay, so if you're patient, you'll never have to view any ads to watch the videos. I think that's about the best compromise I can do given the circumstances. I don't really mind adverts, and like you said, they're helpful. It's annoying to be physically forced to watch one, but considering it's just one show that i'll be using Blip for (FM, of course), it's not all that big of an issue. I'm more glad that you can actually upload your videos than i am upset about having to sit through an advert. It's not off-putting, and i suppose it's not as bad as Machinima's CLICK HERE FOR FUNNY MINECRAFT annotations, advertising banners and the like -- none of which likely benefited you as the creator.

I already don't like BlipTV. It's got 60 second adverts that take 90 seconds if you try to disable them with an adblocker. On top of that they have they're overly picky about things that get uploaded to their site? The fuck?

So, what, Machinima still has the right to keep your videos hosted? Aren't they making money off that? That would piss me off, knowing something i made is earning someone else money while i don't get shit-all for it. Surely you can ask they be taken down, and then reupload them yourself.

I think it's only just becoming a little stagnant. It worked perfectly fine for the black tentacle thing, and everything up to that rocket. That was a little daft i reckon. Just launching a missile at random... It doesn't mean he should become Freeman-hero extraordinaire, since the whole joke revolves around him being a normal guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. It does mean that he should gain some kind of spacial awareness.

That mod's a pile of arse. And i doubt there'll be an FM 2. FM exists pretty much to serve the fans. Not sure why he'd move on to HL2, especially seeing as how huge a time 1 has taken alone.
