When I play darker games it looks hilariously green on my 1920x1080 21.5" LCD... Until you realise it shouldn't display all dark colours with a greenish tint. Tried calibrating it etc., no use, except when I turn up brightness I don't get darker colours and therefore no green shadows. But then black isn't really black anymore... Don't suppose you know anything about it? It's just you said 21.5", and my Dell ST2210 is 21.5", which seems like a weird number and caused me to complain about it again. Hang on, that's slightly random... Think I should find some Dell forums instead to complain about it? *virtually walks away*

@arbiter and Necropost, yeah it does feel like timetravelling, doesnt it. To the ancient past where everyone had 9 rep and it was considered cewl to post superwide comments...

I don't know if this would be the correct place to post it, but I just noticed 36 is up. The bar hasn't updated for me yet and I didn't see any posts about it yet...

That's IT! I NOW HAVE A PROFILE PICTURE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS WEIRD THOUGHTS. Ugh, I should just have named myself Sir Serviette or something... AMERICANS! Although, admittedly, my question may have been the problem, not my name... *still trying to figure it out*

This makes me really feel VERY STUPID because this may well be the dumbest question in the short history of the AF forums, but HOW THE HELL can you wipe your ass by moving your hand BACKWARD after positioning it behind you? *tries imagining it*... It wouldn't work! (Yes, I need to get a profile pic so people don't mistake my name for something it was never MEANT to mean...)

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
The Giant Napkin replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
"1337... No... 1234... AHAHA! You know, as much as I'd like to claim that this is the result of me being a genius, it's more that someone else was NOT." Perhaps it wasn't the best quote for me... Until I discovered that it actually worked for the copying machine at my school (where you normally need to pay using a card for printing we use at school). Yup, best high school in Holland... : ) -
33 & 34 Green?! It's a sign of the apocalypse!
The Giant Napkin replied to GameGodOfAll's topic in Freeman's Mind
Hey... what if machinima's channel in the future would only be used for machinimas and not for loads of random crap such as CoD montages or whatever? Hang on, what if they also only upload videos that couldn't have been created by 7-year olds on a rainy sunday? That would make sense... In all seriousness, something is wrong if your channel became big thanks to people like Ross Scott and great machinimae and slowly developed into a channel filled with stuff that takes roughly 5 minutes to create and has nothing to do with machinima anymore, so badly that the really good stuff has to queue for over a week. I thought that now that they've created plenty of spare channels for gameplay etc. all the stuff machinima fans aren't interested in anyway could get dumped there. Turns out optimism is still completely useless. I can understand Machinima's excuses, because they obviously have a lot of uploading etc to be done, I can also understand that they don't want to upload some videos sooner than others (except, of course, for the IGDaily's and their own stuff... -.-), I just think that most of what they upload shouldn't have been uploaded there in the first place. I could understand if FM had to wait on respawn's channel, but we're talking about the MACHINIMA channel for god's sake. And of course, Ross, you are right that it will get uploaded some time anyway, and waiting is part of life. But this isn't just the waiting, something is just not right about the way machinima works, in my humble stupid, absolutely worthless opinion. -
In all seriousness, this is a dire situation.
The Giant Napkin replied to MakoVlazkov's topic in Freeman's Mind
This. Don't forget it's a game, an entirely unrealistic situation as it is. You really can't expect Freeman to stay sane in such an insane environment, nor would you want too, because it wouldn't be as funny to watch. I'll admit, sometimes it gets a bit... overly stupid (e.g. the continuous drugs and random button presses), but c'mon, the scientists blabber about donuts half the time, it's not like you'd be really listening to them (especially not as a gamer). And the button presses are of course making fun of games in general, because, face it, if there's a button in a game, it's meant to be pressed, so in order for this to happen it would have to be Freeman's mentality to want to press random buttons without really knowing or caring what they do. So, again, it sometimes gets a bit overdone, but you shouldn't criticise Freeman for being insane, the game is. He couldn't have possibly gotten to where he is without being at least half insane. I, in his position, would have been twice as insane and long dead. -
33 & 34 Green?! It's a sign of the apocalypse!

You should turn some of this content into an outright short story. You get enough of them together and you could probly get them published... Agreed. It's not like you haven't got the time... one entry per day that machinima delays putting up an episode and you'll have your book within no time. -
33 & 34 Green?! It's a sign of the apocalypse!
The Giant Napkin replied to GameGodOfAll's topic in Freeman's Mind
2 people killed 33 people each, so that makes 66 dead and god knows how many people either committed suicide or died during the siege. Calculators no longer make happy faces but simply say 'no'. Both Apple and Microsoft have tried to take over this thread. According to J.C. himself, darkness is spreading. Death, darkness and cheapass shooters dominate... yet episode 33 remains as unreachable as ever. Is there any hope left? -
If that's true, then ep 3 will be released on ... mmmhm, lets say May 14th, 2988 I'm afraid that'd be only true if the jokes had stopped. Since they haven't... hang on... roughly 10^42 to 1 against (=fat chance) that it is released within the next 5 minutes at any given time, which is only correct if the world comes to an end at some point (because otherwise, the jokes would continue). So in that case, HL2 ep3 will probably be released... 10^42 times 5 minutes divided by 60*24*365.25... *gets calculator*... yep, that's another 9.506426344*10^36 years to wait, which is incidentally roughly 9.506426344*10^36 years after the world's ending, provided that it actually ends at a certain point in time. If not, the answer is that it probably will be released after the ending of the world anyway. Argh, machinima, just release the tunnel already, it's so much better than doing maths.

The relation between your name and your ideas is... interesting. Makes me wonder how the world would be if it were ruled by Ross' hardcore fans... Edit: and my nickname was for serviette. Of course, me being the stupid foreigner I am, I didn't know about the other meaning of 'napkin' until it was too late...
-
Normally I would be happy and optimistic about the tunnel being uploaded to Machinima... But something tells me Machinima will lose the video and Ross won't have any backups because he has been moving (for, as has been pointed out before, MYSTERIOUS reasons), and the light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be a train at 300kph... And if the tunnel actually is released without any problems, my internet will crash, or I will suffer a heart attack. Like, there is only one way it can go well (which is machinima uploading it) and countless ways of everything going wrong... doesn't that mean there's at least a 99% chance that I'll never get to see the tunnel?

I use mozilla Firefox on a 1920x1080 screen and the forums span my entire screen. That's not really a bug, and fortunately most people don't make lines 20 inches long, but it's kind of annoying to have to read such a long way from left to right... Is there any way you could make give the forums a fixed, say 1024 pixels broad at most? Thanks a lot for your hard work on the forums by the way, it is appreciated : )

This will take some time getting used to, for me... also, on a 1920x1080 screen, the posts are really stretched sideways so that one short sentence takes up half my screen. Is this the same on lower res screens or is it because the forum stretches to fill my screen? If so, could someone please turn that off, I find the more compact format (as used in e.g. the bioware forums), where the forums just have a fixed size slightly easier on the eye. Thanks a lot for all you guys' hard work though!
