At least there's not an actual minefield too, other wise the branches would probably be exploding things too.

I just now got around to playing The Walking Dead. I'm not usually a fan of point-and-click games because the gameplay is just, well... pointing and clicking. But I ran out of episodes of "The Walking Dead" on Netflix, and this fills that void nicely. The story (what little of it I've played so far) is intriguing. Also, I didn't know "The Walking Dead" was a comic book, the first I'd heard of it was the show. It's nice to see the game stick to it's roots, graphically. I'd almost say it's somewhere between a videogame and an interactive comic book. Also it's nice to see a zombie game that's not mindlessly blasting away the undead. Don't get me wrong, I love mindless-zombie-gore too, but it's also cool to see a change of pace. One valid complaint I do have are framerate issues. I've only played through the early, early part of Episode 1 so maybe these issues were resolved later, but during one cutscene it dropped to like, 0-3 FPS. Yes, the lowest was 0 FPS, as in it froze. I had to turn off shadows to get it to work again. Allegedly, this is because the game hates AMD cards. But turning off shadows doesn't seem to impact the feel of the game at all, and frankly if you play this game for the graphics, you're doing it wrong.

I wish they'd do that for Bioshock Vita, but now they're not even sure they'll make that.

Well, I've heard of it now and it looks freakin' fantastic! Suck I'll have to wait 'til May though. And at least you've played Uncharted 2, that's the best one IMO. U3 would be, but they got rid of the cheat menu that was so fun to mess around with. Also, I haven't played The Walking Dead Season 1 yet, but with all the buzz I'm betting season two will be good as well. And this coming summer will be the first in a while where I haven't had summer reading out the ass, and with all these great games, my wallet will pay the price for that.

Isn't that a bit too personal to be discussed publicly? Bahahaha I meant MALware My maleware is fine. But there was something on my computer that turned product and brand-names into links. Anywho, MGS: Ground Zeroes does look awesome. And it's a proper MGS game to appease the people Rising pissed off. I haven't heard of "The Last of Us" 'til now, but it seems interesting and I know Naughty Dog is a great developer. I've played every single Uncharted game, and they were all great. This should be worth checking out. EDIT: I looked at some gameplay of The Last of Us. First impression was that this is what I Am Alive should have been, but wasn't. Like Naughty Dog saw that game and said "Shit, we can do way better than that."

EDIT: I fixed my malware problem, it seems. ORIGINAL POST: I did a search, so don't blame me if this is a duplicate thread. Anywho, with that out of the way, 2012 is coming to a close, so what games are you looking forward to in the new year? Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (February;PS3, Xbox360, possibly PC at some point) seems amazing, despite having a terrible title (because it's not a "Metal Gear" game, in the traditional sense, and "Revengeance" isn't even a fucking word). The Free Cut mechanic seems freakin' sweet! Sure, you can play the whole thing without killing anyone, but with that mechanic? Heads will roll. As will all other body parts. Killzone: Mercenary (TBD; PS Vita) also seems cool. Now, most of you are probably PC gamers, so I doubt you care about a Sony exclusive franchise coming to a Sony handheld, but I got a Vita for Christmas and I want this game. It's being developed by Guerilla Cambridge as opposed to being directly from Guerilla Games, so we'll see how well that works. But at least it's not being developed by Nihilistic like two other miserable Vita FPS games. As for the game itself, it offers a new perspective, casting the player as a mercenary (hence the tilte, duh) rather than as ISA or Helghast. From the very brief bits of game-play seen at GamesCom, it looks like a proper Killzone game, unlike Killzone: Liberation on PSP. Now, Liberation was fun, but it was a top-down shooter, a design choice made due to the PSP's crippling lack of a second analog stick. Mercenary will hopefully be the FPS the Vita's been waiting for.

Just figured out yesterday that since I got WipEout HD Fury as part of Sony's "sorry we let your stuff get fucked up" package, I can get it free on Vita! I paid $18 for 2048, and got about $12 worth of addons free. I'm digging this "cross-buy" stuff, we need more of that. Also, no luck with my "two-player via cross-play" experiment. Looks like Vita goes to random lobbies so far, although the devs said they planned on adding more stuff, so maybe this will be fixed in the future. I wonder if there'll ever be a feature where if you customize a character on one system it'll be the same on the other? They could call it "cross-dress". Wait... no...

Apparently you can also map the right stick for old PSP games, so some of those FPSs my be vastly improved by that.

Black Ops has some wonky controls. The aiming is not as precise as it could be, and the grenade button on the touch screen is close to the Square (which is used to reload). I ended up throwing a grenade a couple times when I went to reload. Wipeout is pretty sweet though, I got that one too. I might try and work out a split-screen type match with my PS3 via cross-play.

Fair points. Of course that's an explanation, what they need is a solution to bring costs down. Now, hell if I know what that is, but firing the monkeys is a good start. I'm still loving my Vita though! Been playing Uncharted. The only real negative I have to say about it is a singular instance where the game has you hold some parchment up to a light to reveal some text. And it does this by having you actually hold the Vita up to a light. When you're playing a game in the dark and you have to get up and turn on a light, it kinda takes you out of the experience. Otherwise, fantastic game!

I got a PS Vita for Christmas. Here are my initial impressions: The Bad: It's a shame the Vita's potential hasn't been lived up to yet, especially since some features could be easily expanded. ie: Remote Play should be able to use more features, and the Cross-Controller should be for all games. Not to mention the underwhelming performance of both COD and Resistance. They added a second stick, finally, and then managed to fuck up two FPS games from two great series. I really hope this is rectified with Killzone: Mercenary and possibly Bioshock, if that project goes forward. Also, fuck the proprietary memory cards. $100 bucks for 32gb. That's a ripoff. The Good: That being said, the Vita itself is quite impressive. It makes up for many of the shortcomings of the PSP by having a sharper screen, more power, and more input options (front and rear touch controls and they finally added a second goddamned analog stick.) While there is a limited library of Vita games so far , you can still play PS1, Minis, and PSP games. It also has many of the functions of your typical smartphone (Camera, facebook, twitter, youtube, netflix, web-browsing, maps, etc.) Also, Uncharted and Assassin's Creed in my pants. The Price: Now, I got mine as a gift, so this is not really my problem. But price is one thing that stopped me from buying my own before now. The games are reasonably priced at about $35-40, about the same as a 3DS game. Sony has a monopoly on the memory cards, so their price will mercilessly rape your wallet. ADHD Version: The PS Vita is good with lots of potential. This potential has not been fully reached. Shit's too expensive (except for the games)
