I felt like this worked well for MP3. Even though the game was VERY linear it was still interesting the whole way though , in large part due to the story. Any game with this style of monologue would have to be linear, but that's not always bad (Though it usually is). But that's off topic. Slightly more on topic, I can't seem to get Brutal Doom to work and this saddens me.

Max Payne 3 does a good job of near-constant narration. Granted, most of Max's dialogue is narration like he's telling the story like a flashback as you play it, and not an actual monologue, but it's a similar concept and I think it at least shows that what you're talking about is possible. It would have to be really well done too, otherwise it would be really annoying. They would have to be well-acted, clever, and there would have to be enough to where it wouldn't repeat. But if done right, that would be awesome.

Never really watched the other "Minds", they're a lot like that? Not all of them. Some are pretty good, others not so much. Barney's mind is ok and Shepard's mind is good. Also check out Courier's Mind by the AF fourum's very own 101Phase, it's good too. I can't think of examples of bad ones, because the bad ones I usually just forget and move on.
