Hello Tsar! Glad to see a serviceman here. I'm a soon-to-be Air Guard enlisted and recent high school graduate.

Only Weebs would recommend a distracting GIF and get full forum support, just because it was a great idea.

Relevant to Sparkle's last vent: Excuse me sir, turning on your highbeams does not properly compensate for the fact that one of your headlights is out.

Things that caught my attention lately. If you look at my family's old HP from 2003, you'll see the mouse and keyboard have their own special adapters. I'm pretty sure every keyboard and mouse had these back then. Then, everything got converted to USB. Well now, instead of having two more USB ports to use for my Webcam and Wacom Tablet, I have to pick which I want to use and take the time to unplug the cam, move my wireless card to the back, and plug the tablet in the front, as two of my USB ports are absorbed by my KB and Mouse. It would be much more convenient to keep the old format so I can use the USB ports for my optional peripherals, not the ones that I need to do anything and everything.

Internal or External Hardware?
Collective Foal replied to Collective Foal's topic in Computer Hardware
What would be nifty (I don't know if these exist already, so let me know if I'm a massive idiot.) is if there were extensions to SATA ports that sat on the outside of the case. I'm under the impression that SATA is much more quick and efficient at processing than USB, so having SATA adapters on our flash drives would probably be better than USB drives, saving ports for other peripherals we'd like to use. -
Custom Gaming Rig Help (For a Total Newbie)
Collective Foal replied to scott155's topic in Computer Hardware
Coolant has never been a concern for me, personally. I have a pretty hefty rig, and I get by just fine with my 6 fans. One in the front of the case, one in the back, one in the side panel, one on the CPU, and one on each GPU. I have the front fan set relatively low, but the rear and side ones work double time, as they're the ones pushing air out, while the Processor fans and front fan do the pulling. -
My dad insisted on buying a cheaper, prebuilt computer rather than the one I wanted, so of course my PC comes and I find out 3 months later that the hard drive physically skips like a broken record, causing unexpected freezes and almost daily blue screens.

It's just NeoTenic now, by the way. The one with the poorly drawn axolotl with a baseball bat!

My irl friend recently forwarded his ports and set up a Minecraft server that we're all playing on together. That and Civ 5 have been dominating the majority of my time lately.

Just got Skyrim and AC3 during the winter sale. I should've bought Brotherhood, as the allegations that AC3 was not very good can be confirmed from my couple hours of playing. It's just... Boring. Skyrim, however, has been fun so far and has easily put Bethesda at my #2 spot in my list of game companies, right under good old Vavle. Sucker Punch will have to drop to 3rd I guess.

Accursed Farms Game of the Year 2013
Collective Foal replied to Alyxx Thorne's topic in Gaming in general
Voted GTA, as it and Bioshock are the only games I've played on that list. Battlefield 4 would be a good option to have. Even if EA is dirty sack of ass drippings, BF4 isn't half-bad, but it still has plenty of kinks that need working out on the PC end... My favorite game this year though... I don't really have one. There were some Indie games that I enjoyed, like Papers, Please and Shelter, but no big-namers that were really solid. I'm content playing games from the 2000's until something really good comes my way, or until GTA V releases for PC... -
Wow, that was awesome BTG. I feel, like, educated right now. Feels good man. Thank you much! New question. More of a poll than anything. A lot of people interested in using a firearm for personal defense invest in a Pepper-box rather than a traditional pistol. Do you think that a Pepper-box is "overdoing it?" It could cause much more destructive injuries to people than a traditional low caliber bullet, plus it requires less accuracy, making it possible for someone without training to steal the gun and still do considerable harm.

Saw Walter Mitty yesterday in theaters. They didn't do as good a job at expounding on how he was living the adventurous life he'd always wanted. It almost seemed like he was simply doing it for his work rather than his pleasure, which was disappointing. Still a very touching film and good performance from Ben Stiller! 7.75/10

Gordan Freeman will have an active speaking role in Half-Life 3 and Gilbert Godfreid will voice him. In other news, Amy Poehler will be voicing Chell in the upcoming Portal 2: Episode 1

Happy belated birthday to Jek and Epsilon! My sister's B-day is in 3 days, and she's really big on Cake Boss and Bakery Boss, so she's making her own cake. She made me a B-MO cake last year that kicked ass, so I'm actually anticipating what she comes up with. Like, I'd pay good money for the stuff she makes.

The Super Mega Awesome AF Giveaway (NEW GIVEAWAY OPEN! p.13)
Collective Foal replied to J.C.'s topic in Free-For-All
My family makes close to 175K a year and I'm still a dependent until April, so you aren't exactly stealing from the poor. Hell, I may do another one once my neighbor pays me for the work I've been doing for him. -
That Gif makes me laugh... Like a lot. It's like my one friend amongst our whole group. He's like, omnisexual or close to it, so there's a lot of cringeworthy stuph we run into on his browsing history every now and again.

So I'm still working on that fanfic. I feel like it's coming along well. I don't want to publish anything until I'm confident it will get done so I don't disappoint anybody, but I also feel like I'll get more done in better time if I have the support of others who like my work. What do?
