It's 11:00 in the furthest west part of America. It's not that early...

I don't have a basement yet, but I want one... Then I'll excavate down under the house and build a tunnel network that goes to under each bank in town, (very well supported tunnels, maybe even use reinforced concrete for the tunnel lining) and have a couple exterior entrances to the tunnel network... Build a 20 x 30 room for the computers, a 15 x 20 entrance room for each entrance, a couple dozen 10 x 15 bedrooms, a 20 x 25 kitchen, and a 50 x 50 meeting room. Maybe even a small shooting range... Tap into a phone line, one of the cable substations, and one of the transformers at one of the power substations. Probly put in some air scrubbers... Then I just have to figure out who I want invite to live with me and survive the apocalypse with... That would be amazing... If it weren't so expensive. You'd also need UV lights and a huge amount of un-monsanto-ized corn pods. Along with the soil and equipment to maintain it. Even a few hundred cattle or so to keep protein in the diet.

Same here, I've always imagined a far-off planet that bears sentient beings that don't want to start an inter-stellar war, but have much more advanced military technologies, Different cultures and ethnicities, languages, foods, senses, etc. I'd also like the human race to find a world like Reach, almost exactly like earth, only larger and denser, thus evoking an adaptive change in our bodies. It would be fascinating to study the effects of something like that on the human body. Maybe we would change to the point where it would be difficult to even see the similarities between the humans on Earth and the Larger planet. Get a fresh start from the beginning of time.
