  1. Couldn't care less about multiplayer, gameplay and storyline are most important, graphics come next.
  2. Torrents also have the major advantage that you do not lose progress, the downloaded segments will stay in the incomplete files if something bad happens. And if a new torrent is uploaded with additional files, as long as you make it download to the same folder as the old one did it will recognize the files already there and only download the new additions. I will be downloading this myself over the next few weeks and seed. My only gripe is that I have to live with the file naming scheme of the torrent author, if I rename then things go screwy.
  3. Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. My OS history is like this: Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows XP and now Windows 7. The longest period was the XP one, 8-9 years.
  4. We get large quakes here every few years but never above 7 magnitude. When you consider the scale is logarithmic, 8.9 is pretty damn powerful.
  5. I don't, but I as a regular will inevitably do as time goes on.
  6. The show was good for a season or two, before it became a redundant repetition of the same theme.
  7. I didn't need to register on the forum, my account from the main site was automatically copied. Too bad we didn't get to keep our comments from the old news items.
  8. Pfft, lazy man, buying onions and sausage in a store instead of farming the fruits and vegetables and slaughting for meat yourself.
  9. Updating is not so crucial, even if you play many newer games.
  10. I know who, or what, he is.
  11. That is the version of the Catalyst Control Center, not the driver. You see driver version in DirectX Diagnostic Tool (Type dxdiag into Run and visit the Display tab of the resulting window.). If the driver came with the CCC in your case then I guess you have version 9.7, which dates back to summer of 2009. That certainly would explain why you can play these games without any issues.
  12. I don't even want to know where your nickname came from.
  13. Without further info saying that really says nothing. What version of the Catalysts are you using? I am using 11.1 and latest beta of ATi Tray Tools.
  14. Oh, I have something like that hooked to my computer. And I can do much more than just watch stuff with the computer.
  15. It will remain small for a long time, compared to some of the bigger ones.
  16. What is this TV? Never heard of it.
  17. I have no physics education on this level, I just do curiosity reading. There are rapid developments in this field and many different quantum computers, either my source is outdated or plain wrong if your claim (without citing any sources yourself) is correct. One would however think that data being processed by a stable system would be at great risk if anything causes the system to collapse. The same does apply to modern processors but it seems to me it is harder to maintain a stable quantum system, with current knowledge and technology anyways.
  18. I actually want it to be released this weekend. But if there is no Tunnel on Sunday afternoon, I will rage.
  19. Right, and I'm sure Clem Junior in the southern states will invent the faster-than-light drive. You can't hack a quantum computer, any external eavesropping will cause the data to be essentially destroyed. I'm not sure what that is based on but it may have something to do with the sensitive link between data made through quantum entanglement, which is an insanely fragile system of entangled atoms.
  20. Have you seen them hack satellites before? Those things have some of the strongest security if they do networking at all. And in the future hacking in its modern form will be a thing of history when quantum computing becomes viable, the laws of physics will protect the computing process.
  21. I see it more as they are getting tired of the project and the repeated questions and discussions.
  22. I have a HD 5770 myself and it runs all my games beautifully at either max or very high settings. It is using the same power supply I used to power my old Geforce 7900 GTX so this thing can't be all that hungry. But be careful of ATi cards, ever since their 10.5 drivers legacy OpenGL has been pretty much completely broken. I have to use source ports for Hexen 2, Quake 2, etc. that have a more modern renderer. But other than this all the games I throw at it work great and run smoothly.
  23. At least he knows how to smile, I wish I did. It looks strange when I try and do it.
  24. Wait, you had respect for him in the past? The man is about as loyal as a hyperactive hamster and made over a million dollars each episode of Two and Half Men, and did he give any of it to charity? Not that I could tell, but he did buy lots of drugs, alcohol and hookers.
  25. I remember being quite fond of vanilla Coke during my 10 day vacation in the US around 7 years ago. It was sold here for some time but probably never got popular enough to have solid residence. Too bad really.
