It will be great to watch this episode tonight with some junk foods.

No, I am not a scientist.

As far as my knowledge goes global warming does exist and is not the direct source of the controversy, man-made global warming is. The earth is an active planet that goes through changes over very long periods of time. What I wonder is how much of the global warming is man-made. I imagine we are greatly exaggerating our impact, the atmosphere of this planet is fucking HUGE.

Personally I find the big bang idea rather odd and incomplete. Even if one day it is proven that the universe started as a tiny "ball" of matter and energy, where did matter and energy come from? The mere thought on this subject makes my mind hurt. . .

Killing in the name of life is a little contradictory isn't it?

Duke Nukem did go gold, in the end. Also keep in mind that 3DR were an incompetent developer and couldn't do in 14 years what a competent developer could have done in 3-4 years or even less. The BM team is a group of volunteers, it was obviously going to take a while to remake an entire, big commercial game from scratch.

Just because 6 years pass between two games does not mean it is the development time of the second game. We also have to factor in that projects get restarted, DNF's release candidate was not 14 years in development.

And time feels slower for kids. -
Ross has been cutting down on criticizing the level design, I highly doubt we get something like the pointless crate hanging room again.
-
We should update the torrent some time with the new episodes, and put up the proper version of ep 31 too.

What I heard a long while ago was that it will be kind of net-centric, your data hosted on a remote server for example. -

Good for you. -
I'm sure you could, but this has nothing to do with my original criticism of SmartGuy's criticism. I could ask more specific questions; how much more variety of scientists and guards do you feel is reasonable without the need to raise the game's requirements? And in the same vein; what level of realism do you feel is reasonable to expect when it comes to stuff breaking and the gun combat? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Valve weren't trying to squeeze through a tight deadline, so I assume that what became Half-Life is a result of the limitations and resources they had to work with and were targeting.

Is there any good way to judge a game objectively? Someone might actually like Big Rigs exactly because it is so hilariously buggy. . .

In sentence 1 you are in 1998, while in sentence 2 you are suddenly in 2011. You have difficulties thinking relatively I suppose.

What else did you want me to say? Turning off UAC will pretty much eliminate permissions problems and I haven't a clue what you even mean with the latter sentence. -

I agree that Windows is bloated as hell, I was the one who made the original statement after all, but 7 is not any less reasonable today than XP was in 2001. I have used Win7 for 10 months now and I have absolutely no problems with it except for some accessibility issues. -
You did not address the point I was making.

64 MB makes XP practically unusable without tweaking and sacrifices. Microsoft recommend 128 MBs for a reason, and I would say 256 MB is good for comfortable use. And 256 MB was optimal back then, not 1 GB. You'd only see 512 MB or higher on enthusiast PCs. 4-6 GB is optimal today, but it is not all that expensive to install 12+ GBs of RAM on your system. -

Windows XP's requirements were considered murderous a decade ago. -
Criticizing a game made to run on computers 13 years ago for having unrealistic ballistic model and lack of model variety seems unfair to me.

Could you elaborate on that? -
System Shock 2 - Rickenbacker feels more like a Quake level than a human-inhabited starship; level design in general degrades towards the end of the game - Respawning is excessive in several areas and some areas are too peaceful - AI can not use ladders or gravshafts - Models are low-poly and textures low-res even for a game from 1999 - Some weapons are very imbalanced

He didn't view the 2nd page, apparently.
