I don't imagine using them on PC would change anything since the mic uses Microsoft drivers.

I own an MXL 990 condenser microphone, along with a Behringer Xenyx 1204xUSB mixer/audio interface. I use it for singing and voice acting. Though i think i need a few more things before i'm ready to record anything good. like i still can't audio engineer and i still don't understand my equipment well enough to use it properly for professional work. Also, i think i got the wrong kind of microphone. my voice comes out flat and without any substance through the 990. It pretty much sounds like i'm not singing, but talking with prolonged syllables. It's annoying.

Returning to the forums. I've finally figured out my work schedule(The reason I've been away: Work-alcoholism) So I'm able to do more during my day like computer stuff. i may be able to go outside eventually. I've recently been informed that going to work doesn't count as "being outside".

I use this, and it works fine for me. I don't use the phantom functionality of mine, but it does have it, and it is under $100USD. Bear in mind I only really use my microphone to talk to friends online and on Mumble (a small VOIP application), and rare private messing around with voice acting, but I've never noticed any quality issues. What do you use for the output? A review i watched said you need a 1/4" adapter or something.

Anyone feel like helping me? I bought an XLR microphone that i thought came with the phantom power preamp, but it didn't. Also, i don't know what's good in a preamp. So, who has recommendations? By the way, it needs Phantom power 48V, under $100USD and a USB so i can plug it directly into my computer. thanks for any tips...
