I concur! I have a noise cancelling headset. The only draw-back is people... Yeah I can't get that one sorted yet until I have a desk in my room... A big shiny desk to fit into my tiny but cozy room... Yeeeeeaahh.

How would my PC hold up to gaming?
sheridanm962 replied to Adam Stryker's topic in Computer Hardware
All you need is a dedicated graphics card and my recommendation to you is save up for another one in five years after the purchase of the first so that you can experience new gaming technology (like how new engines are in the light). You should be fine from there... I'd say research and compare before you buy one though and make sure you worry about what cooling it has. -
AFAIK 3D vision technology has changed and has less strain on the eyes as much as the older technology. Although I wouldn't care, either way we still have Freeman's Mind.

I couldn't imagine picking noise over temperature because we all know temperature wins.

Air cooling for me all the way to the finish line... Yeah.

Does God exist? (your opinion anyways.)

Can you ask the Mormon's how magnets work for me? Related: I don't know if god exists but if he did, the next room will contain... Strippers and food! -
AMD is more affordable plus Linus Torvalds doesn't hate them, lol.

This is an awesome breakthrough from Valve software and it would be an honor to see this incorporated into Civil Protection.

Oh the Nostalgia. I bought these individually though, but that doesn't mean that I don't have the oddbox.

Can't tell if trolling but if you play Garry's Mod and get the Sparta kick mod HE DOES!!! It's just an addon but I see your point about it not implemented in-game.... So you do make a good point. If only we had a mod like this.... Why Otto.. WHY!?

This is an awesome time to announce this because I really need something like this for a project I can work on in my Creative Tech courses. I want to make this as experimental and as fun as possible!

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
sheridanm962 replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
My new favorite: "OKAY SUPPRESSIVE FIRE IN SUPPRESSIVE FIRE OUT, DO THE HOKEY POKEY THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT" -
That's just like getting the shotgun in a hidden location but if you wait long enough you'd eventually get it anyway.

Easy Fix For Detail Sprites/detail.vbsp?

Seems like what I see usually in allot of games like FarCry. You see grass having a transparent glow around it and it looks horrible. -

I use LCD's all the time but whenever I turn to see a CRT my eyes feel like they are being feed candy in a 4x4 cell and that I can fly out of a hole like that. EDIT: By all the time I mean at this Creative Technologies course at Wellington's institute of Technology Petone (pronounced pe-tone-ie) campus that has a shitty internet connection that downloads stuff at 20kb/s plus LED 1080p ViewSonic dual monitors that are hooked up to 1 Quadro FX 580 Graphics card. They have 8GB of ram and i5 3.20Ghz processors... The real problem with these is that EVERY program is run off of a server that over 9000 people use (Note: not actual estimate of people). Feels bad man. -
Like the fuel source. Plus I think a sub-machine gun would do fine in terms of speed.

Both are at pretty decent prices. I have a choice of a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7750 - $185 NZD or an MSI Radeon HD 7750 - $156 Links: MSI Here And Gigabyte Here Also I only have a CRT or I think a 14"-17" LCD Screen which isn't too bad, I'm liking the CRT more because it's black and the LCD is silver. -
Are you glad that Nintendo is still doing so well?
sheridanm962 replied to mehdawg654's topic in Gaming in general
I read that the point of the WiiU was to remove the odd feel from playing traditional Nintendo games with Nun-chucks (insert Chuck Norris pun here) like Mario of course. -

I saw a video of someone who went to the conference saying that he literally slept through it and hardly anyone clapped or got excited at all. -
I can't wait to get into these Episodes once I get my Unlimited Internet paid for to get the connection back (New Zealand only has one solution of no limit caps for internet) Other than that even our capped internet (40GB) hasn't been paid for and I have to stop myself there because it gets way to personal about my situation at the moment. Famous ADHD version: I haven't watched much of it but I will as soon as I can.

Supersampling AA on DX10/11 on Radone 7000 cards
sheridanm962 replied to Ross Scott's topic in Computer Hardware
I was going to get an HD 7000 series card but I thought PCI-E 2.1 would be better on my Motherboard, I also learned that they were backwards compatible. It sounds to me like I could actually get one since it's only $6 more to buy a Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB Graphics card than an HD 6750 so there isn't much that I would have to lose. On the PLUS side I read that PCI-E 3.0 isn't really implemented that much until later Motherboard models or so, I don't know if that's true or not. Seems to me like $163 NZD instead of $157 NZD isn't so bad after all for $6 extra. EDIT: That's a funny article of Linus Torvalds since it may explain why there isn't much support anymore for Nvidia's drivers inside Linux. -

I was thinking of actually running games with no AA at all and 4X-8X AF, this would actually depend on the game I'm playing though. There is a place that sells RAM really well and it's not a "Mainstream" Electronic store (Not in a hipster way). It's a place for only Computer parts and that's where I got 2GB DDR2 Laptop RAM for only $65 NZD (Which is $90-$140 at DickSmith electronics New Zealand). I think the maximum there is 4GB of DDR3 Ram which I have to research on the price in the store. They sell CPU's and I think cooling solutions as well as Graphics cards but I've only seen Nvidia's GT-GTX series there which go for dirt cheap $80-$220 NZD. But I'll do some more digging if I have to. I was recommended this place here and that's where I found my Motherboard from their recommended vendors. For a first build I might need more help, but the thing that mostly concerns me is money at this point. I don't exactly strike the Richie Rich type at all on this end, it's just going from this $100 at a time if possible.
