Another great episode. I am curious and kind of worried though: Are you going to make a new series based on FM with Half-Life 2? It's just not cool to end the series at the first game. They left Bleach at a dreadful cliffhanger by not continuing the Anime from the Manga, some people don't like Bleach but it's the only example I can make here. Aside from that it's kind of a mixed bag between us expecting a new series based on FM with Half-Life 2, or a completely new series based on an entirely different game, different engine and all. For the time being, I'm glad you're continuing with Half-life: Source as with much effort as possible, even after the fallout with Machinima and all.

Hate to bring this up so late but Maxwell looks very promising, I'm already dead set on an R9 270X but on the other hand saving up might do better.

Freeman's Mind 2 is going to be awesome!

Upgraded to an FX 6300, change my motherboard to a 760 chipset based motherboard and I also have 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I have to tell ya, that CPU changes everything. From a Dual core to a 6 core, it changes everything.
-
What if it implies that it is software based?
-
It's unoptimized as hell, there's a new update coming out that's going to fix that. I've played around with the experimental version for a while and noticed the difference, it's huge. What I want is physics so that I can drag bodies up on the roof and then dangle them down, wait for someone to come by and then drop them right in front of someone. EDIT: Oh crap, realized this has nothing to do with the topic... Ugh... Hardware... You turn my software into hardware. No! Umm... I put my D into her C drive

Yeah, that's my top priority now. I'm surprised this DDR2 RAM can be overclocked to around 1200MHz, if that. I tried overclocking the CPU to 4.0GHz and the RAM to 1333MHz, but it just gives me a blue screen every time. Other than that it's not that big of a deal with 3.7GHz as even that is decent. It's good that DayZ finally runs better, I can now ramp up the settings knowing that my GPU wasn't the problem. Also other CPU intensive games are no longer "jumpy"... If that makes sense.
-
I just got an Athlon II X2 260 @3.8GHz. Since it's AM3, not AM3+ it supports both DDR2 and DDR3. The CPU was hardly used and a friend of mine said I could have it. I am able to upgrade to DDR3 soon, the CPU being free really helps in that regard. Also I'm not seeing the lag I'd get with my AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ which is a nice bonus as well as the temperature isn't going to go to 62 degrees when gaming with DayZ as well as being more playable than before.

Doesn't look like that's happening, I think it's gotten worse since. Relock it, throw away the key, new topic

There's going to be a lot of running, dodging and swearing that's for sure. be nice to see the transition from HLS to HL2 straight after the train part on the same episode, or as a longer episode, but that depends. If Ross could pull that off on the finale then we'd truly be grateful, if that's not too much to ask. I will add that the implications of asking for a longer episode as a finale would be asking for a lot here, I'm just throwing an idea into the table. There could be an alternative, make a short episode as the finale and open HL2 with a big one... I don't know. What I would really enjoy would be an episode where Freeman catches up with Mike and Dave, that would make my day.

Over here, the only 2GB version of the card I can get is DDR3... The GDDR5 2GB Version seems to be only for certain regions, I think. I would get a 260X, but that's $230 over here (plus $10 freight), it could be something to look forward to when I get the other upgrades. Stupid 15% GST! (Goods and Services Tax)

Yeah, also the majority of people that actually need more speed with RAM are those with APU's or Server/Workstation based systems. The latency between DDR2 and DDR3 is also something that kind of makes the argument between the two null void, as the frequency increases, so does the latency. Of course one of the biggest benefits of DDR3 is that it's cooler and doesn't require as much power to run, not to mention that now days it is cheaper to run DDR3... I'm lucky I got 4GB for $40 then That's why I opted to get an FX 6300, which would also require me to upgrade my RAM to DDR3 (of course 8GB would be nice). I idle at around 800MB-1GB, if that? I hardly ever multi-task (unless I really need to) and I don't see the need for 16GB or even 32GB personally (or even anything over 1600MHz).
-
Would you like a sticker? Golden star or smiley face? I think a CPU upgrade would be worth it as well.
-
You'd see no improvement going from 1600MHz to 2200MHz in gaming, so why contemplate the need for DDR4? It's not like we all have APU's. Also the motherboard doesn't have a dedicated memory controller, it's dependant on the CPU's integrated memory controller. I've never heard of an AMD motherboard that has a memory controller of its own, that wouldn't make sense in having an integrated one now, wouldn't it? I have to get an FX 6300 before I even consider getting 8GB of DDR3 RAM, it's impossible otherwise. I've already considered upgrading both the CPU and RAM, the problem is money at this point, so it's not like I'm saying that I'm not getting it. I'll let you in on something I've already seen first hand as well. I have an AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3.2GHz AM2 CPU and a friend of mine has an AMD Athlon II X2 270 AM3+ clocked way higher (somewhere around 3.4GHz-3.8GHz). He has 8GB DDR3 and I have 4GB DDR2, but his system is slower than mine. Why might that be? Because I have a Sapphire Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5 card while he has a Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 2GB GDDR3 card. I took the top priority of what should be in this system, I can't afford to completely upgrade the system just yet and the prices over here are completely different. If I didn't get this graphics card first, I couldn't do anything other than pull my hair out over 9600GT with only 512MB and much slower clock speeds. All that aside, a memory controller on the motherboard would increase latency quite a lot, the only up side would be that I could run DDR3 on an AM2 CPU, but would the performance increase? Nope. Aside from added latency, the RAM would have a hard time keeping up with certain tasks, stressing out as it would have to refresh more often compared to an integrated memory controller.
-
You seem to have misjudged the situation. AM2 based CPU's have an internal memory controller, thus it can only handle DDR2 RAM. AM3 and AM3+ are the only CPU's that allow DDR3 (aside from FM socket, but that's unrelated now, isn't it?). Without an FX 6300 CPU, I can't have DDR3 RAM. Aside from that, you're completely wrong about DDR2 being slow enough to be of a concern. Let me explain: The GPU renders a scene, now the frame buffer only uses the RAM from the GPU. You're implying that having DDR2 or DDR3 RAM would affect this in a high manner, which couldn't be more farther from the truth. The system's RAM is only responsible for small things that the CPU throws at it, allowing it to move faster since it doesn't need that much power. A GPU is a different story entirely, it has to push a huge chunk of data and cram it into the frame buffer. What you're implying is that a 2FPS difference between RAM Generations are a huge consideration to make at the cost of CPU power (which could affect more than the RAM could, trust me). The only thing to consider with RAM is the size, not the speed. You've taken it in a different turn and failed to see why we have large amounts of RAM in the first place. If we needed so much speed, then why don't we have DDR4 or even DDR5 system RAM? It's pointless at this point. Furthermore, it's not worth upgrading just the RAM. The CPU in question is only a Dual Core, a Dual Core that is many generations behind and yet is 90nm. Are you saying that a 90nm CPU is enough for something like Skyrim?

I don't need Adblock on Youtube, I have an extension that makes the video larger and makes it block all video ads etc. I might disable that, I feel bad hurting people like this... I'm sorry Ross!!! Please don't make me go back to Ross's Sex Dungeon... I mean... Don't throw me in the brig good sir, I'll be good; promise

If and when I get an FX 6300, the motherboard that I have has DDR3 slots (It's a hybrid of DDR2 and DDR3, making the maximum amount of RAM I can have at one time to be 8GB), I can then have DDR3 RAM, till then there's nothing I can do about it (Hell, it's around $30-$60 for me to get 8GB of DDR3). The CPU I have is a 90W and the 6300 is 95W, so the upgrade is pretty much seamless (I do however need an aftermarket cooler for it though, I hate stock).

I should really work on posting more often, I don't like coming and going, I just like coming all together... Oh... Aside from that, the video was really fast paced and to the point, the humor was rather pleasant and very consistent. The fun never stops when I keep coming back.

Okay, I'm back. Here's the setup, not too much improved but I'm getting there... Slowly. AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3.2GHz OC (I'd like an FX 6300, over here it's like $150) 4GB of DDR2 RAM ($40, luckily I didn't have to fork out $200 for this, yes it's that price normally) 430 Watt PSU ASRock N68C-GS FX Motherboard Sapphire Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5 GPU with Boost (Core 1150MHz, Mem 1300MHz, also has a TDP of 75Watts) Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit BenQ V2400W LCD Monitor - 1920x1200 @60Hz (cost me $150, I love this resolution) 1280x1024 17" Philips DVI monitor (Secondary Monitor) 7200RPM 320GB WD Hard drive (Primary) My Seagate SRD00F2 2TB is now Internal as a secondary drive I ran Far Cry 3 on this rig, smooth as hell on mid-high settings (textures High, water Very High, everything else medium) It can even run Crysis 2 smoothly on high settings (the lowest is actually High, funny that) Aside from that it's a huge improvement, I even changed my case because the original one this rig came with wasn't that good on airflow at all.

Does God exist? (your opinion anyways.)
sheridanm962 replied to thebeelzebub's topic in Serious Topic Discussion
Okay so from my understanding of what I read in various places and whatever, it seems God is some entity which created the universe. Someone told me that this creature per se based in String Theory as part of a higher construct than our Third Dimensional world and the reason he cannot interact with us is that we're not on the same page, or Dimension. It's possible that if this creature exists as such that he can see time itself happening all at once, that would be quite insane to some of us, but at least this creature was born like that, or maybe at least not born at all. The Universe is supposed to be some sort of underlying fabric that with the right understanding can answer a lot of unsolvable questions if you just throw rocks at it and try and get some answers from it. But then again, it can't answer back because the Universe is of course within the bounds of all Dimensions, but yet the way we see it is as such just out of our hands. Of course I'm not that experienced in telling of theories etc but then again I can still share my knowledge of what I've seen and heard of (seen as in read). Okay so the next thing is that there can't be a "nothing" after we die because that would possibly null void everything to the point where nothing would exist in the first place, The Big Bang wouldn't even be theorized and we wouldn't have such knowledge of "Spirits, ghosts" and other such unsolved and unproven phenomena. That's pretty much a middle ground between it being proven and unproven at the same time, we can't prove it and yet we cannot prove it doesn't exist because there again, it's out of our hands. We cannot simply come up with a conclusion, rather we can only theorize and speculate on the matter. So in this case the whole nothingness after we die thing actually has a chance to be false because of the pretense properties that comes before it. Side note: So now is talking to yourself crazy...? Don't answer that... Hey don't tell them what to do. Hey, who said YOU can say anything. Oh crap I'm arguing with myself, is that crazy or is this just a "Crazy" innuendo. <---That. Stop pointing, it's RUDE!!! Okay so moving along: We'd have to have a soul if we have emotions and if we're self aware to the point when we know of our impending death, the more I go on about that though, the more someone would have the courage to try and prove me wrong. But I'm not here to say "This is the proof, blah blah blah", I'm just talking about what I heard so just shut up and read: In Science or Science itself thinks that we don't have Emotions or say Feelings, that they're simply chemical signals interpenetrated by our brains, but we know emotions exist in a soul or whatever and that they aren't just bound by "chemicals" (hurr durr, spaghetti lurr) because we actually feel these things and various other living things which were said to not have these properties actually have them and react to certain things (I think... Citation needed? I don't know). Science hasn't proven that a soul doesn't exist, it cannot because it's only about the material world and that's all we can prove, which is why we have theories in the first place, there are some things we cannot prove or disprove. People said that Stephen Hawking thinks that the after life is just a fairy tale, but in actual fact he said by conventional standards because it's of the unknown, so he himself feels/thinks that it could possibly exist but not as others think, in this case maybe the ghost/spirit theory can be more true than an afterlife, who knows... Okay so here's the last thing I'm going to talk about until my next post (I seriously want this topic to continue, this is one of the various things I think about most): How in the fuck did we go from tape reeled computers to what we have now, can this explain why we have no knowledge of Aliens in the first place, that we have things like computer components of today and that other stuff from after the 1950's-60's, whatever is Alien technology back in the day...? That could mean that they're looking at us now and wondering why we haven't evolved past the point of what they gave us yet, maybe it's just an experiment set out by them to test our abilities. In that case, we're so fucking far behind it's not even funny, we've made little progress because they probably don't have money, or at least have a better way of dealing with such things than us. Yeah, I'm starting to think Aliens are either of a different race or just Humans sent back from the Future to make their lives better, those smug fucks are getting even BETTER technology than we could ever hope for as of now... Why am I so jealous of something that we as people on the surface don't know fully about...? SHIT They're that good! I idol those Aliens so badly. I'm hoping the Aliens were a cover up because some day I want to possibly leave this planet and get anally raped by some aliens for no reason, just to be put back here like nothing happened, that it was just a crazy dream I got raped in vividly and lucidly... Er... I mean: I want to see Aliens as much as you guys, no homo. Yeah I really do hope Aliens were a cover up, here's hoping to that! -
I've been here since 2010. Yes, I'm surely here to flaunt my E-peen... Uhhh... Good series and good job... Yours sincerely, sheridanm962, or more recently: Shredderman. EDIT: I am into 3D modelling to a certain degree, but if I can actually put it into the game that would be awesome.

Good top 100 list of single player FPS RPG games
sheridanm962 replied to icthulu's topic in Gaming in general
Age of Mythology. This list needed strategy! But seriously, who cares if it's not RPG-FPS??? But if I had to choose though I'd say... Team Fortress 2 (Hat Fortress MMORPG-FPS 2: Electric Boogaloo) Kingdom Hearts 1-2 (play them on PCSX2 Emulator, the irony is I'm using an Xbox 360 controller and the PS3 one doesn't bloody work) Fable 1-2 (haven't played much of 3) The Final Fantasy series Dark Souls (Do you even praise the sun!??) Mass Effect (Moar like Mass Erect miright?) I might... Add more later. -
Edited, also I'd personally get a Radeon HD card seeing as I can get good performance for less money (as far as I read at the time), the Price to performance ratio is higher etc and I don't really need PhysX (It's a wreck, trust me), I don't plan on Stereoscopic 3D gaming as well... The Sapphire Radeon HD 1GB 7770 GHz Edition is the best I can get, it's $180 NZD. Now for the monitor being 17" it is actually a pain to use because it's so small I know.
-
I had to get a second hand computer because it was all I could afford at the time. In Total (adding the Monitor and Motherboard): $246 NZD = $194 USD CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 6000+ 3GHz (I want a Phenom II, planning on saving up for one) RAM: 2GB Corsair Dominator RAM (Need at least 4GB I know) GPU: Leadtek Winfast 9600GT (512MB DX 10 card) (This needs to be replaced, this isn't 2008 anymore) HDD(s): 7200RPM 320GB WD Hard drive (Primary) (Got it back, Praise the sun!) WD 80GB SATA Hard-drive (Secondary, I use this for recording) Seagate SRD00F2 2TB External Hard Drive (A lot of stuff goes into this) OS: Windows 7 Pro x64 (Don't like Windows 8, gah!) Monitor: 1280x1024 17" Philips DVI monitor (As suggested, I need a replacement) Motherboard: ASRock N68C-GS FX (With DDR2 and DDR3 RAM slots) PSU: 430 Watts - Need 500Watts for just about any upgrade (except RAM) EDIT: I got the 320GB Hard Drive back, it's actually 7200RPM lol
