It got me thinking about what Ross is thinking Freeman might say to the G-man. Obviously by that time he will be somewhat desensitized to the craziness going on but will still, in all likelihood, go off on him for putting him through this. But what i'm really thinking Scott is thinking about is that he has two options. The dillemma of walking through the portal or being so pissed off that he refuses anything and basically dies. This is the dillemma that Ross faces in whether to continue on into half life 2 with Freemans mind. It makes sense that if Ross decides not to carry FM into HL2 he'll just let Freeman die at the end. He might make some fans mad but he has an 'out' in doing that. If Ross lets him step into the green portal I will take that as a sign he will continue FM into HL2 and that will make my day because I really do enjoy FM.

Ross may or may not take FM into HL2 but Ross is a smart guy. As far as I can tell, he knows not to "screw" his watchers as well as not get too indulgent as FM seems to be more popular than CP. I do hope HL2 gets a 'Ross treatment' but who knows? Nearing the end of HL in the world of FM perhaps there'll be a poll of 'Should FM continue into HL2?' to which the answer will be a resounding YES. The poll would just serve to cement the idea that it will be watched. No one would, or should, deny that CP is great too. But even if FM just serves as an interim for other labors of love by Ross I will still enjoy them as long as they are done with care as he's so wonderfully done so far. Don't let the stinky pinky out.

Ross, How supportive is Valve of your videos? I mean have they expressed any distaste with what you've done with either Freemans Mind or Civil Protection? Are they indifferent or do they think it's pretty cool? And have you ever asked them for assistance before and do they respond to your requests? Do they even support their own SDK and animation software for people who develop with it? Just curious.

There may already be a post on this but I'm too lazy to go through and read everything. Since the weekly run of FM has run dry(not complaining) what is the next project being worked on by Ross? CP? General moving and settling? Probably not more FM. Just wondering what the next video that pops up on the site might be.

Amnesia makes perfect sense to me and it's not total amnesia. He'll piece it together enough to make it exciting when the exciting bits of the game return. I have faith in you Ross!

Freeman Rejecting G-Man's Offer A Viable Option?
Aldibar replied to Pinkie Pie's topic in Freeman's Mind
I don't know what Ross will do but I can tell you one thing... All these speculations will give Ross a LOT of stuff to mull through and will surely give him some great ideas. That should hasten production time. He can take the best ideas of the forum and put them together in the way he sees fit and in doing so viewers can be proud and say "I thought of that idea!" Ross is so smart. I wish i'd thought of that. hmmm... maybe the forums are really just an 'idea farm' and we are his little piggies. sneaky sneaky Ross. -

You are so young. You need to find your passion. Maybe it's something you've never even thought of or found yet. Cutting things short just means you'll never find that thing that stokes your fire. I'm going to assume that you derive no pleasure from other's misfortune so this is not meant to cheer you up but like Bjossi, I have limited eyesight, I can't drive. Limited options are a way of life for me. I'm not sure what your situation is as far as health but if you have that then everything lies at your feet to be partaken of by you. My dear friend, I don't know you. But I do know you are a living, breathing human being in which I believe is precious if for that very reason alone. I've always been taken care of by one way or another. I do struggle day to day but I believe my faith has guided me along my way and I've done alright for myself. I will keep you in my thoughts. I can't pinpoint who you are but my maker can. I respect others beliefs so i'm not going to go into specifics of what I believe but know that it is my choice and right to wish you the best in the ways I know work for me. There IS a higher power. You need to find your higher power and pick yourself up and make yourself worthy of what you've been given. I can't tell you how to do that but faith works for me. Maybe it can work for you. Good Luck my friend! my name is Allen

I'm interested in what you guys, and gals, thought of Portal 2. Did you like it? Was it long enough? Did it meet your expectations? What was the best part for you? Did you have trouble or get stuck? Just any info you want to speak of about portal 2, and/or portal 1. I just finished the single player and I thought it was very good. I loved the first one and was wondering in which direction they would take portal 2. It wasn't as hard as I envisioned. I'm not sure if that's in part to me playing the first one about 5 times through (a testiment to how good a game portal really is because I rarely play games more than once through just as I usually only will watch a movie once.) I thought maybe adding the new elements in portal 2 would make it super hard and it just wasn't. I wasn't let down at all but even the ending was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I only got really stuck in one spot and it was my stupidity not realizing what was going on. It was the chamber/area where the conversion gel first appeared. Oh well, 30 lashes with a wet noodle! All other areas I breezed right through. I love the humor in the game as it may be what makes the game super-great for me as opposed to only being great because I love the idea of the game mechanics and the puzzle aspect in a 3D environment. What did you think of it?
-
I think maybe you could do both if Ross is very clever. Part of what makes FM good is the anticipation of how the next part will go and I understand what Kaapo wants (I think) and if adding a 'what happens next' dynamic to CP makes it more appealing then you should, but maybe not as cut and dried as FM. Maybe, cleverly, Ross could add a section somewhere in the middle of every CP episode that refers to or leads into the story of the following CP episode while still keeping the current episode a story of its own. That way you could watch the CP episode and speculate based on what happens in the episode what the next episode might be about. This could generate more forum posts and everyone could get in on the speculation (just as everyone does about FM). I admit it might be hard to keep up with because in every episode made Ross would have to look ahead to his next episode in order to 'hide' the clues. Just a thought. What do you think?

One day a small unassuming orb decided to make his way to the bar at town's finest catwalk owned by Chinese people, who had glorious leader. Suddenly, a big nasty oval fell out of a mob spawner floating ominously above two crazy sluts in a car who just started to play Portal. The Chinese leader took a giant dump into the big mouth of a nearby dragon. He then sang like a tonedeaf cheesecake while hanging from the legs of small ornate brusselsprout in a tightly packed basket. After the dinner of the dragon and Chinese leader, they all swam to an island made of turtles connected by poop. The unassuming orb blamed the oval for ripping off all kinds of sweet chocolate cookies, as the copyright of justin bieber killed the pope. He then took a companion cube and walked slowly towards a missile at snail speed. All of this was an evil plan made by some incredibly insidious retard walking away.

IE9 beta screwed my flash player up. Even going back to IE8 didn't help. Reinstalling IE9 after it actually came out didn't help. Great job MS. Had to use FF for flashy stuff. oh well.

The Tunnel Discussion Thread [CAUTION: Spoilers!]
Aldibar replied to doomplayer's topic in Civil Protection
Can Dave see in the dark? What's up with the aquarius thing? Also what's the purpose of the piercing dude who almost cuts Mike free? Despite the plethora of unanswered questions I will resist the urge to criticize as others have felt the overwhelming need to do. I guess that's because they want to play siskel and ebert. The way I see it there is nothing to criticize at all. Either you liked it or you didn't. It's kind of like music to me. I'm not a country music fan or an opera nut but I can hear the complexity in it and I can appreciate the talent it took to produce. And I know you're just waiting with bated breath and on the edge of your seat just to read whether I liked it or not. Well I did. It did have some issues but i'm sure they're nothing that Ross doesn't know about so why even go into it. The main issues I had with it are my own. I like stories that tie up loose ends (or most of them). So if I didn't like some part of it because it wasn't suiting my personal preference who am I to complain and I believe that is the case of others who didn't have great things to say about the film. It's their problem. Not the film's. Maybe I'm dense. I don't read lovecraft and horror flicks aren't my cup of tea but I liked 'The Tunnel' just fine. Great Job Ross! -
Ross Scott, I made this several years ago when I really did a lot of playing around with my Korg. I haven't messed around with it in a while but my soundclick account still remains. The point is, i've uploaded some songs to soundclick.com. The link is below. Ross, if you want to use any of these chop them up, slice and dice to your specifications. You can take these songs and use them however you want to. In fact I would consider it an honor if you would use them, or at least just give them a listen. There's only 6 of them. They're all downloadable in mp3 format too. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=26980&content=music Thanks for the entertainment! EDIT: Actually 'up to the challenge' started out as a christmas song with all the bells but sort of got out of hand and turned into something like, well, what has been described as belonging in an 80's action movie. Oh well, no christmas music from me. Deluge has got to be my favorite from a technical standpoint because I got to add a lot of different effects that I didn't have available to me in the others. Thanks for your kind words. My music is nothing serious but just a passing hobby. Even though they're on soundclick I've really never shared them with anyone online. I really kind of expected someone to say they sound like garbage. ...and that may be coming!DOH! It would be very cool if Ross could find a use for them. I almost sent them in to the weather channel. HA but I didn't.

The houndeye blast at the end of whichever video that was. That was really great! Also the close encounters reference with the strider was awesome!
