Ross is sort of a performer. There is a fine line between indulging ones self, only doing what they want to do, risking fanbase loss and doing what the fans want and losing interest thereby causing poor quality work. By that i'm referring to CP vs. FM. But personally I think Ross is doing great and it's quite amazing at the content he has come up with to cover all the ground he has with FM and still have enough stuff for CP episodes. My brain would have caved in long ago trying to come up with stuff. For me, that's what sets FM apart from other so-called mind series videos. I can record myself playing a game walking around going 'uh, oh man, oh wow, blam! you're dead! woah". It doesn't make for compelling video to waste break time with. I've started watching other 'mind videos' but after watching FM, to be honest, it's painful to watch.

Rest easy my friend.

I whole-heartedly agree! Most people do have a dynamic IP leased from their isp. Thanks for that! AHA!!! You just tipped your hand!! ...I didn't know Ross hired former FBI agents proficient in internet psychological profiling by stealthily tracking peoples forum habits on accursed farms in order to flush out formerly banned users! Sneaky bastards!! See, i'm not so hard to get along with!

I'm not trying to cause a ruckus. Was just asking why couldn't someone do that. The answer to me is there is no reason you couldn't do that. The 'common sense' phrase came up a number of times which led me to conclude that someone was thinking i had none. But i'll drop it. This isn't a thread about how to get around certain security aspects. Sorry for the rant. Thanks Alyxx for the vote of confidence!

okay okay. I have no common sense. Close this damn thread. it was just a question. Or ban me and i'll make another account, on another computer, which is another way of changing your name.

There are so many more pointless things people do. Why do they do the things they do? The simple answer is because they can. Use a gmail account, yahoo account, hotmail account to get around the duplicate email thing. My point is not why, but just that it could be done. My question was originally 'What is to stop someone from doing it?' "Security is just a maze where a straight line should be." - unknown

I'm not suggesting it. Just asking. It really wasn't that hard to sign up for me so i'm not sure what trouble you're talking about. I typed a name and BAM! here i am....and uh, as far as the IP stuff, just renew your IP from the isp. Reboot your DSL modem. but AGAIN. not suggesting it. Just like playing 'words with friends' on the runway...NOT suggesting it. and for the record. I started with Aldibar, stayed with Aldibar, will stay with Aldibar. Now let me see some of that glorious positive reputation!! WOOOOooooooo hu

Y'all spel eet rwoung. eets spelleed KOULR.

Agreed, he's never been out of form I guess. All the scooting around and not watching where he was going, walking on the dead soldiers and stuff like that in the previous episode made me wonder if he lost focus a bit. Hey, he used to always worry about stepping in the blood. No negatives from me! Love the series!!

What's to stop anyone from abandoning an old name and creating a new account with a new name? Not to cause confusion but... just sayin.

Nah! part of what makes this great is the fact that you've played half life. Just watch 'the big bang theory' if you want a tv show.

He's keeping it real. Real people don't go around blowing stuff up normally. It's what I really like about the series. And Ross is really good at taking a game that isn't very realistic in a lot of the elements it has and makes it plausible. He has so far, anyway. Also, the boxes don't break realistically. It would take me out of the moment and obviously Ross recognizes this. And then why would a realistic freeman break crates anyway? If you're searching for something you open the top. Breakable crates with convenient health are one of those unrealistic game elements disguised as a realistic piece of scenery. And the flitting about has ceased to a degree. You're back in form! I agree that this was a fantastic episode! Great Job!

It was intentional for Ross but unintentional for Freeman, which makes it funneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Yes, OP, I reject your reality and substitute my own!

You shouldn't rush the good stuff. It's rare enough to get good stuff at all anymore.

What is Your Favourite Freeman's Mind Quote/Episode/Moment
Aldibar replied to Trickiert's topic in Freeman's Mind
"You know, as much as I'd like to claim this is a result of me being a genius...It's more that someone else was not." I'm a PC technician and repair machines for businesses and everyday users. This quote is my fav because I think of it when I have to turn the touchpad button on for someone panicking because their mouse won't move or flipping the wireless switch to 'on' because they're frantic they can't get online. It's a perfect saying for that time. -
I like this because it incorporates both endings in one, however, as this says... It may not happen. But as I posted a while back, I think the ending will depend on whether Ross wants to continue on into HL2. If he does then he'll take the deal. If he doesn't then he has an 'out' with the deth ending. Convenient for Ross. He just has to make up his mind what to do. I understand if he wants to quit FM. It's not his favorite to do apparently and the convenient death scene would be, well... convenient for him but I am like most of the folks who tune into accursed farms. I like FM and wish to see it through to it's fullest potential. Now I realize that is a LOT of content to go through but as Ross said, FM started as a time filler for his larger more time consuming projects. It just makes sense that he'll keep on making FM because not only is it very popular but it allows him to have more fillers while working on his grand projects. If not FM then he'd have to come up with other fillers, so why not FM? I say he lets gordon continue his adventure. It makes sense from every stand point. It's relatively easy, It's popular and it's handy as a 'tween' film while larger videos are made. Not to mention his fans would boo him if he stopped but that's beside the point. The only concern I have is if he loses interest in FM but continues then it will lose it's sheen. It's brilliant wit. Don't let that happen Ross. You've done great so far! Keep it up guy! You're doing great!!

Makes sense, i guess. What's maddening about Amnesia? I played it. It was creepy and cool!

Tastes something like one of these? P_IuLfMm9oE

yes and... What's with all the flitting around in the episodes now? I know Freeman runs occasionally but it seems he is on roller skates now. Quick starts, quick stops. May be picky but after the first 30-something episodes where things were somewhat realistic I got used to having freeman have a normal gate. Am I crazy or what? yeah, i know. don't say it.

I hate to see a great game i'm into, end.

Same here. I actually saw an ad for portal and thought I'd try it so I got the demo and decided I wanted to buy it. It was part of the orange box and all the HL2 games. AFter playing portal I played HL2. I had never played HL so I played them in the wrong order. I bought HL on steam and when I finished it was searching videos on Half LIfe stuff and ran across 'half life in 60 seconds'. Finally I ran across freeman's mind which was probably around episode 20-something at the time. I've been checking in with accursed farms ever since!! Now i'm enthralled with skyrim waiting for more FM and HL3 to someday make a showing.

I think there were more thoughts in the beginning but since he really has no one to talk to and the fact that he's probably going a little insane that even his thoughts may be coming out of his mouth so it's really kind of hard to say what might be thoughts and what might be audible.
