  1. So hey, I'm still pretty interested in an update about this. Did the award arrive? Have you opened it up? Does it look cool? Does it have "2nd place" inscribed on it? Do you have it rested on a mantlepiece? So glad you won it, anyway. Good work!
  2. Actually, I can imagine that being a lot easier since you could cut the footage whenever you walk through a portal. So if you want to try a scene again (because you fell down, say), you just go back to your last exit portal, jump up, and pretend you just came through so you carry on from there. You won't need to stop and start the demo recording every time, you could just edit it together. At least I think that's easier... It's what I would do.
  3. I suspect any type of legal drama like this would drive most people to a stressed or depressive mood. That's the bigger aspect of this that sucks. I would certainly be put off of machinima making in general if I ever went through that company. I agree very much. All this was kind of disturbing to read, but I'm very glad to know just that the information was released, especially if it provides any kind of relieving comfort to Ross. I'm also glad to have that batch of screenshots from the blip.tv page, plus the NPR interview I never heard about before. I'm very satisfied to know all of this and follow up the other articles in the posts. Thank you very much, Ross.
  4. Thanks, that's a great compliment. I really liked the choice of elevator music, that was a great surprise when I saw the end. I always think I'm gonna hear something like this when he reaches an elevator: Yeah, that's one of the things that makes comedy pretty hard to do. I'm sure I would already be making numerous repeats of certain jokes by now, if I were doing this many episodes. I simply wouldn't be able to remember the ones I've already done and the ones I've had circling in my head for ages. Do you have a document with every single line in the series so you can search it make sure you're not duplicating? Otherwise I don't know how you do it. That's funny, I've actually played Half-Life a number of times and remember all of the game shown in Freeman's Mind, EXCEPT just now when he jumps out of the water in the steam room and finds a door with a lock. I don't think I've ever found that in my life, which is an incredible discovery for me. Yeah, he once mentioned that on his blog or twitter years ago and Ross expressed surprise that he'd be following it.
  5. Wow, this was awesome, Magda. I was so surprised to see this blog post a week ago. It is an awesome thing to have you do your own series alongside Ross as he does Freeman's Mind. I think your "Conquer" series, along with Chell's Mind and Barney's Mind, are amongst the cutest of the 'Let's Play/Mind' subgenre/universe. These were some of my favorite lines: "Turn left at the radioactive waterfall. Please admire." "Say 'hi' to Dr. Cross for me." "Oh man, *shakes head* not good tactics." "Is this guy a ghost? Yeah, Holy Bible should answer my question." "Yep, yep yep, there's a pepperoni pizza in my near future." "Yes... Hope you choke on it." "Hehehehe." *Throws bin at desk* "You're invading my comfort zone, Doc." "I'm invading the whole game!" *Throws bin again* "Control yourself, Gordon!" "Brlrblrblrbrl!" "It's a Christmas Tree graph... So, this machine makes Christmas. Wow." "This is the department of funny sounds?" Sometimes I wish I could liberate people with an actual engine that runs as it should. I feel like some of them are so suppressed they don't even know it. Of course, it's also good to be content as well. Yeah, I understand that. I'm lucky to live in a place with good tap water, but my friend from Europe took a while to trust how clean it was. They always boil tap water first before they use it for anything. Well, heavens, we've all been saying it for years! All seemingly in jest though, of course. Although regarding that, I would like to thank/congratulate you guys on officially revealing your relationship and location to everyone after so long. It's quite a romantic story how you guys moved together, so I hope you're both happier people, and like visiting each other's country. Also, is your name short for Magdalena at all?
  6. Actually, I was just getting sick for the third time this month. I must be at the end now, though.
  7. Did he ever mention getting charged for sexual harassment? I'm thinking back to when he declared women as being "too damn jumpy" with tazers, and/or possibly pepper spray?
  8. Yeah, I don't know what game this could be. It does kind of remind me of , in terms of the story.Only in that you start in a forest as an eco fighter and have to battle against an evil corporation who's destroying the planet. It was also developed by the same team from two Mega Man arcade titles, The Power Battles and The Power Fighters, which probably explains why the Einstein scientist character from Mega Man, Dr. Wily, so much resembles Dr. Moly from this game. Otherwise I can't think of any point-and-click adventure games that match your description. Do you have any ideas or guesses at who developed or published the title?
  9. Ah man, my bad. I thought it would be up the next day. And I figured since it's still Tuesday for most of the US, it would still be accepted on time. That doesn't excuse the lack of contact, of course. I was just an idiot for not checking my messages and hoping the dates were still doable. Is it specifically TGWTG, or blip.tv as well that you have to schedule it with? In any case, my sincere apologies. I'm in a senseless head space at the moment and am losing track of time.
  10. Yeah, I would like to apologize to all of you who missed out on the episode today / yesterday. I'll probably be out of work for a while this month, but rest assured the final track has been sent back and you'll enjoy the awesome video soon. There's only a couple hours of Tuesday left in Poland time, I believe.
  11. Do you mean the voice would be better heard if it were louder? Or if the game sounds were quieter? Wow, quick and responsive, as always. You must be the only one who isn't sick! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. I love reading about people's favorite parts and how they interpret each episode in general. I quite liked the line "No, I DON'T WANT YOU!" "Sqcreeee!" I am glad to hear Freeman's Mind has made people want to play the original games, no matter how long it takes them.
  12. Okay, I still can't find out where the ratings count is. Could you kindly point out where it is on the workshop?
  13. Just wanted to point out how perfect I thought it was. From whatever "tone" that was shown in the trailer, (I didn't notice it was very different) I considered it to be ideal for playing the game without there being a too intrusive, distracting, repetitive, loud or irritating manner in the voice. Even the parts where he does yell for the "Ultrakill!" or victorious "SUCKERS!" moments are incredibly satisfying. All the rest are very funny and I love the clever, unexpected writing. This sounds far better than I imagined it could be. Amazing work, Ross! Well there is always reverse Valve Time. No one expected L4D2 in 2009. That is both genius and true!
  14. Total Badass, I'm sorry, I just like moving pictures.
  15. Just bad luck, I suppose. You could check the 'Movies' section to make sure there's nothing else you've missed. Yeah, it seems he was "caught" by some villager in the town and "converted" to the town itself. Must have been how some of the other pedestrians got there. Poor old 'Stranger' may live the rest of his days staring across the road.
  16. It's a post-apocalyptic world overrun by children, and it's up to you to train and educate the next generation of winners to build a better future in Old New Las Vegas. Can you trust the kids with the nuclear detonator? World of Warcraft
  17. I concur! My only regret is not being able to transition the mob scene personally.
  18. Don't be silly; he's not dead. See?
  19. Yeah, I think I'd rather not have anything to do with them at this point. We shall be rejoicing in their absence. Funny, are you actually from there? I almost thought you were another Bot.
  20. But... how can he be crazy when... but, he... he's also right and, DOES NOT COMPUTE contradictory answer!
  21. Yeah, you're right, I don't really like TV hosts anyway, I just want to see him in a suit or something on The Daily Show... Though he probably wouldn't wear a suit. That's GENIUS! I usually go over a spread*sheet* for a job interview, but I never thought of doing that for this. He could probably just read out the FAQ on the website.
  22. I'm so proud of this thread.
  23. This. Though maybe a bit older because I remember thinking of the Facehugger parasites, and I'm sure I wasn't allowed to see the Alien films when I was six. You Are God. The most Ancient and Privileged of us all. What what?
  24. Mine would be the above three posts, starting around Princess and ending with Foal. Nobody chose 'Extinction Event Horizon'? Also, if this includes Portal 1 and 2, I have many more from them.
  25. Good response. Although I'm interested to hear what Princess actually did to the phone lines. Wow, another interview, that's a lot for this year! This is actually one of the better quality recordings I've heard, plus the hosts are definitely more experienced and communicative than the most that interview Ross. This is probably my favorite one you've done, maybe after PlanetPhillip... or Meeting of the Minds. I always thought Skype had great transmission for this sort of thing. I'd definitely prefer it over a phone conversation. Either way, it was hardly a significant or disruptive problem, more a humorous delay. I feel sorry you didn't have the chance to test the equipment, that's hardly any fault of yours. And very surprising "bumper" music you played, Maxwell. Thanks a lot for broadcasting this! Yeah, this is unfortunately a big part of PR that almost every writer, actor or director involved in games and films has to deal with at some point. It's to be expected, really, since you're usually addressing a newer audience. And Ross is getting pretty good at this sort of thing; maybe he'll do a televised one soon enough.
